It's just because around the end of the series, they (=various characters...)were all serious as they explained 'Because her switch is in her v****a, once you have sex with her, she will be reset and forget everything'...

So I thought maybe there was a reason for that...

I don't think the reason was to prevent Chii from falling in love. The reason was to prevent some guy from pretending to like her just so he can have sex with her.

They wanted to make sure Hideki was sincere.

Can you expand on that? I don't see the logic there.

If a guy has sex with her, Chii loses her memory.
A guy just pertending to like her can have sex with her, and he can just leave after she loses her memory.

What do you mean prevent some guy from pretending to like her just so he can have sex with her.

It doesn't prevent anything!

I feel the same way about CLAMP. I still read their works though. While reading them they are, for the most part, entertaining. But; after Magic Knight Rayearth I put an end to reading to the end of CLAMP works.

The clamp series have excellent storylines, but I'm not as big a fan of their artwork.I'm more of a Hiroaki Samura person.

I don't think the reason was to prevent Chii from falling in love. The reason was to prevent some guy from pretending to like her just so he can have sex with her.

If Chii gets raped, there's a danger of her losing her memory. So YES, it's a RISK. But the one time it almost happened, she was able to defend herself. She has some kind of dormant program preventing people from reaching into her vaginal off-switch.

She's not helpless in drastic situations. She only needs help in daily life tasks.

The placement of the off-switch makes having sex with her impossible to anyone who cares about her as a person. I don't think she was made to be sex-capable, and it's *assumed* that someone who really loves her won't care. Chii herself knows that no one is allowed to access her vaginal off-switch once she's been activated.

I tend to like the artwork, even though there have been many an argument that all of their characters would look the same with shaved heads. sweatdrop As stated earlier, the story lines are weak. Very predictable due to the lack of logic in most cases.

CLAMP'S art is hideous, overdone (garish, even) and just repetative swirly s**t.

And don't get me started on their plots. Someone should beat them with a stick.

And here's my also-belated response.

So your position is that Chi's "father" put her switch inside her so she would protect herself from being raped.

Why didn't the father build Chi in a way that she would protect herself from being raped even if her v****a wasn't the switch?

I think the father built her in that way to prevent her from having sex, or preventing someone that really loves her from having sex.

Now that I think about it....Hideki does have sex with her, right?
Will he ever have it again? And again? Or does he plan to never do it agian...

I think we've a major communication problem here.

I'm going to be very blunt, which is the only way I can make this as clear as I possibly can:

* The switch wasn't put there to prevent rape. In fact, the switch makes Chii getting raped alot worse, because that's where her power switch is, and hitting it will wipe out her memory banks.

* Chii's dormant program (Freya) is there to protect Chii from harm. Chii fended off an attacker who tried to press her switch. The switch doesn't do anything to protect Chii.

* Yes, the switch is there to keep ANYONE from having sex with Chii. I'm guessing the intention is to make Chii stay a virgin.

* Now, the excuse of all the characters is that if Chii has to stay a virgin, then no one can trick her into having sex with them by claiming they love her, because anyone who loves Chii would know they shouldn't have sex with her. Chii knows that no one is suppose to have sex with her. (I personally think this is stupid. This isn't my position. This is the position of the characters in the story.)

* And no, Hideki never has sex with Chii. He does give her a new password though. The password simply gives Hideki sole access to Chii's system files.
