Bell nodded. Well, at the very least in the dinner conversation was a Q&A, things couldn't go too bad, right? So long as she was supplying the A part. Idle conversation, though? HAAAhaha..ha...

When the two of them went back into the kitchen, everything was prepared and laid out for them - said roasting chicken was in the middle of the table, with mashed potatoes in a serving bowl, as well as a side of mixed vegetables. There was also soda and an assortment of juice out for his guests - clearly, Damian had left nothing unthrought about.
Which wasn't surprising to Xavier, as his father had always been a mediculous, detail oriented man.
When everyone was finally settled and had started to eat, that was when the small talk started. "So, Bell..." At least he already had a one-up over the fathers who got their son's girlfriend's name wrong on the first go. "How did you two meet, hm ?" School was a possibility, work was another.

"Um-" wonderful beginning to any sentence. Bell brushed some of her hair behind her ear, "Well, I was looking for a birthday gift for a friend of mine. She likes games, and I am technologically challenged, so needless to say a little help was required." Bell was finally getting used to 'the google' and was absolutely fascinated that it had all the answers to her questions. The internet had everything. Well,..except information on this senshi stuff, but hey~

"Oh, I see, I see~" It wasn't that unlikely of a place to meet, not in the least - every day little things that one had no idea would become something more. It was delightful, really, it was !
"Well, Xavier certainly doesn't lack technological knowledge, doesn't he ?" Damian said with a chuckle. "So what do you like to do, then ?"
Xavier, for his part, was busy pretending to be completely entranced with his chicken.

No, indeed he didn't. As for Bell; "I spent most of my time in theatre from...oh, when I was about six till about a year ago. Now a days I don't do much-" aside from protecting the city and kicking youma a**, "but I plan to become a theatre arts teacher. Preferably high school."
That was easy enough to talk about. It had been her life for the better part of...well, her life. And going back to being an actress or working in the theatre was not an option. Too many politics and asses to kiss. Not to mention that the reason she dropped it in the first place was that it cut into the time that was....better spent, she supposed, protecting the city.

If Damian has any idea of Bell's (or his son's, even) double-life, then he showed none of it. A theatre girl, then ? "I might have seen you on stage before then ! I go to pretty much every play I can get to, but sometimes I have to work evenings and... well, you know how it is."
"She showed me some of her recordings." Xavier cut into the conversation then. "She's really good at it."

Oh god hopefully one of those that he hadn't seen was her stint as Mimi. She didn't know what would have been worse for her rep in that one though - a druggie club dancer, or a lesbian. She had a feeling one of these days someone was going to find out. She'd never live it down. But she had enjoyed the musical. For all its craziness, it was meaningful.
At the compliment she blushed a little and smiled, "Theatre taught me more than the Academy ever did, that's for sure," she chuckled a little.

Somehow, Damian managed not to mention anything about the easy blush. It was adorable, but he kept the thought to himself - Xavier's look in his direction had probably helped with the restrain. "So, you went to Crystal, then ?" His son had scored a crystal girl. That was probably the dream of half of Meadowview's population... or at least it had been, back when he had himself been young. Needless to say, he hadn't managed the feat.

A dramatic sigh followed, "Sadly, yes. I fear for my education's sake that was not the best decision ever made, but I don't suppose it was ever meant to be to my benefit anyway." Nope. Her dear old dad had just wanted her out of the way, and Crystal was cheap compared to the other options he had probably had someone look at.
"They don't exactly stress much in the way of academics and-" Bell gave a small huff of a laugh, "I'm not exactly your classic Crystal girl material." Xavier could attest to that. No true Crystal girl would be caught dead shopping at Goodwill, would curse like she did, would step foot in a greasy fast food burger restraint, or half of the things Bell was prone to do. The most lady thing about her was that her wardrobe had more dresses and skirts than most girls.Which had been proven time and time again, thanks to Bell's independence, to be to Xavier's benefit when it came to getting a look at her butt. Which was probably another strike against her ever getting classified as a lady.

"I suspected." Damian laughed. "I can't see Xavier falling for your olde crystal lady at all."
"Hey now..." Came the rumbling from the other side of the table. "You just say that because you never got your crystal girl, dad."
"Ah, busted." it was a tamer chuckle that came out, then.

"Ah, but at least I'm not from the other side of the spectrum. There's some pretty scary girls that go to that St. Mag." Mag-whatever. And so, she saw some of them. After all, the chapel that was a part of that school was right across the large public parking lot on the other side of the road from her house.
"So either way, I suppose he still gets bragging rights," Bell gave Xavier a grin.

"Ah, true." That had probably been more unlikely than Xavier bringing Tallulah home had even been - he just didn't associate with the 'wrong' crowd. At least, not as far as Damian knew.
In a way, ignorance was bliss.
"As if I needed more bragging rights than I already have." Bell was quite a pretty lady, and Xavier made no effort to hide his opinion on the matter. Attractive, smart, kind, gentle, beautiful in all means of the word - yep, he'd scored alright.

Compliments and the like were never something Bell really knew how to properly respond to. The best she could do was to not seem to flustered and to smile.
"It never hurts to have some extra padding around that ego so its not too easily bruised." Even though seeding said ego was something she was pretty sure you weren't supposed to do... Ah well!

"I figure, after all, his can be a little fragile indeed..." As if Bell wasn't already aware of it. Xavier was glaring from the other side, but Damian just laughed.
"There's certainly no need to tell her what she already knows." Xavier then stood up to go rinse his dish and utensils in the sink before putting the whole in the dishwasher.

Bell giggled slightly, soon done with her food as well. Talking certainly could slow you down. "The food was good. Thank you."
Though Xavier's ego might have been fragile, she was there to fix it back up again, as best she could, anyway. She wasn't always so good at the whole comforting thing, but still, as least she was there and he knew that for whatever reason, as if said reason mattered, she loved him. If reasons were needed she was totally ready to list them. For starters, unlike most people she met, she wasn't off put by his general demeanor, personality-aura, whatever you want to call it - that sixth sense you got about people before they even opened their mouth. Second, he had a great personality. Well, save for the sulking, but still when he did it she actually wanted to help and make everything all better. Most people she just wanted to b***h slap and tell them to get the hell over it. ..okay, maybe not really, most of the time she just would have left them to deal with their problems. Not Xavier. She'd jump right down into that darkness with him if it meant pulling him out of it. Third - She'd be lying is she said that she hadn't been incredibly attracted to him on sight. He was more than cute, alright? And whoever held any opinion otherwise was obviously staring out their a** and couldn't see through their own s**t, kay? There was far worse out there, and Bell considered herself incredibly lucky. Xavier was also smart, dependable, and just..all together wonderful.
In the end there was simply no missing her adoration - that special spark in her eye reserved only for Xavier.
