Aether walked closer to it and frowned. "I dont know why they would leave such a pretty thing here alone." He said as he sniffed it. The basket wiggled a bit and he frowned. "Yeah theres a little one in there alright but theres no fresh scent to it and the basket feels a little cold. We should take it with us to the herd so it can be safe and maybe someone there will know who is missing one. I'll fly up quickly and look to see if i see anyone who might be missing a basket. Keep it warm." he said as he flew into the sky and looked around for any others in the area.

In the lake nearby there was a water Soquili who seemed to be black in color, and he wouldn't really have been able to get to land with this basket so probably not his. He frowned and after one more pass over the forest around them landed. "No one but a water soq over in the lake. Its not his though so lets take it with us." he said. "Grab one of the handles on the side with your mouth and help me get it on my back." he said as he worked a wing down next to the basket and grabbed one handle with his mouth to slide the basket up his wing to his shoulders with Sgina's help.

Sgina blinked as Aether flew into the sky she looked about once more before kneeling down beside the basket. She stared at it for a moment before folding one of her wings over it. It stirred as she did which made her jump a little. It had seemed like ages ago that she had her own baskets in front of her. Three beautiful baskets that she never deserved to give birth to.
"It's alright little one, we'll make sure you're taken care of. I promise...."

When Aether returned it took her a moment to do what he said, she was have ready to nest herself right beside that basket regardless of the fact that they were in the middle of no where. Once the basket was on Aether's back she started messing with his wings a bit trying to make sure the basket was warm and stable. Once satisfied she stepped back staring at the basket before looking to Aether. Her face was concerned, but it also seemed to be asking him some unspoken question that he was supposed to figure out.

Aether helped her stabilize it between his wings and he gently folding them up a little and back so that they held the basket between them well enough to keep it safe. It looked weird cause his giant wings were kind of flared up and spread out showing off to any who would see him. He loved his wings as much as he loved his long hair so he didn't mind showing off how amazing they were. He looked at her and smiled a little.

"We'll take care of it like it was ours. Maion will allow it to be in the herd. Its lost and alone so we'll all raise it together. Theres a few other young ones in the herd it can grow up with." he said with a smile as he nuzzled her face and then slowly started walking again.

Sgina tilted her head a little before smiling just a little bit. She still wasn't sure what to think, but she knew she wanted to keep the basket. Perhaps she could give this herd thing one last chance, for this basket....and her future baskets. She remembered the cold days searching for better shelter and the hassles of moving three baskets with just two parents. The times she was left all alone to fend off any beast that might approach while the father was gathering food. This time she had to think of others not herself and she could always leave if she couldn't handle it.

Sgina began to walk again her eye flicking back to the basket every now and again. "So how far is Maion's herd?" Sgina felt a need to start a new subject so she could stop fussing over the basket on her mate's back.

Aether looked at her and smiled wondering if this basket might help her feel better about joining the herd. "I think its a girl. It just seems too pretty to be a boy dont you think?" he asked with a smile. He wondered if she was getting excited and he looked around. "Their just over the hill over there. Past that large group of trees there." he said pointing with his nose just over the hill infront of them. "It wont take us that much longer to get there. Then we'll get the basket safe and settle down in our own part of the herd." he said with a smile as they moved slowly up the hill.
