"Aha. Cautious research; very practical." She praised, before tapping her own book. "This is fiction. No real ending- Author never finished it before he died. I... like this sort of thing. But, researcher by trade. You like your explosions, I like... trying to get closer to something like... a Jinx having a flame body with the temper of a Gyarados... Huh. That would be interesting, actually." She grinned. "Well... You still have all your limbs so I guess you're good at your explosion research." She flicked her eyes upwards to glance at the Haunter, while Palu preened herself nearby. "I rather like him." Palu made an irritated grumble beneath her wing.

"Hate to pop your bubble, but the only thing I have that explodes is him and the occasional firecracker. Grunts don't get to blow things up, or at least not often." he let out a for-long sigh, strangely a mimic of his haunter's earlier exaggerated disappointment. "But I do like the occasional fiction book too, when I decide to read for pleasure. I'm not too sure about how you would manage a flaming jinx though... " he had to think about that for a moment and looked up at the Haunter who was snapped out of mopping by Tam's sudden praise.
Shadow floated down really close, grinning in her face. "Haunter haunt!" he then tired to slowly take her coffee, sliding it away from her with one disembodied hand.

"Y' know... I'm not sure how one would manage a flaming Jinx either, but it'd be /really/ interesting to find out..." She shrugged "Well. In time for your hobbies- so, what sort of fiction?" Palu watched the Haunter suspiciously, crying "Pidgeotto!" as the hand grabbed her trainer's coffee. Clearly not happy about this. Tam' looked rather taken aback too. She blinked a couple of times, then narrowed her eyes and tilted her head. "I said I liked you. Steal my coffee and that sentiment is revoked and reversed."

Shadow deflated and went back to moping, floating down next to the table and leaving the coffee cup with a layer of ectoplasmic ooze.
"You get to big headed sometimes Shadow, and you should know better then to get between a human and their coffee." he took another sip of his own, clearly claiming the hot cup. "I personally am a fan of the action adventure novels. My favorite was Float like a Butterfree, sting like a Beedrill. They recently made a movie out of it, but I like the book better."

"Pah. They /always/ do such things. You find this nice little novel, full of all sorts of little plots and so many characters and then someone makes a movie... And leaves a quarter of the story out and changes everything else." Tambrey lamented with considerable ire before she went to take her coffee cup and... found her hand covered in goo. "What." She moved her hand away from the cup slowly, watching the viscous ooze trail between it and her cup. "Aheh."
Palu, meanwhile, has hopped from the chair to approach the sad Haunter curiously. She looked sympathetic, perhaps having once been on the recieving end of the 'coffee stare' herself.

"And the scene you were looking forward to most is completely ruined, yeah." He spotted the ooze too late to stop her. "I see you have your first taste of shadow drool." he grabbed a few napkins and handed them to her. "Don't worry, it comes off."
The haunter popped and began crying all over again, a hand on the pidgetto. "Haunter!" he wailed for more sympathy.

"Shadow drool." Tambrey repeated, still looking at it, even as her other hand reached out for the napkins offered. "Thanks Shadow. And, uh, thanks.." One sarcastic thanks, one meant. She spent a good amount of time wiping the haunter ooze away. "Mm, still. If this was a book-to-movie scene, there'd be a lot more drool."
Palu meanwhile coo'd and warbled gently. Until the hand made contact with her. She began to look skeptical and eyed her trainer wiping off Haunter ooze. "Pidgeotto..?"

"Probably. course you'd be globed in it by now too." He nodded. "What brings you to team rocket?" he continued sipping his own coffee.
"Haunter!" he sobbed on the Pidgeotto's shoulder.

"The desire to get things done." Tambrey said with a small shrug. "There are only so many things you can do before frustration kills you within the rules of social normality. I saw a way out to more interesting things and here I am." She cast a curious eye over the man before her. "And you, I might guess have come for the, ahem, action such an organization provides?"
Palu was starting to look a little embarrassed with the other pokemon, though her suspicious look had melted away, she was still cautious as she offered a pat to the ghost.

He nodded. "I see, and yeah, that was my original intent. It sounded a lot more fun then it actually is. I thought there would be more field work by now." Nevermind he had been practically grounded these pass few months.
Sensing a moment of weakness, the haunter once again stuck out his tongue and licked the bird type. It wasn't an attack, nor would it have an effect even if it was, but the other pokemon now was exposed to the drool of the overly dramatic haunter. Afterwards he started laughing again.

Tam' grinned and shook her head. "Clue's in the rank, I think. Grunts do the grunt-work." She shrugged. "Cleaning and sorting... Bah, alright, I'll admit I didn't expect the paperwork and stuff in the labs, but y' gotta admit; the clue is in the rank... Have you had any field work yet? I am kind of... eager, if nervous, to see how that works..."
Palu was licked. And froze, stunned, for a good few moments, before her beaky-face became very dark and irritated. She scowled at the Haunter and then with an angry cry of "PIIIDGE!", the bird pokemon began trying to buffet and peck at the ghost. Not so much a real attack move as just... well, annoyed abuse.

"I've had a bit, mostly training and grunt work, but I did go on a mission a while ago." he shurged a bit, swirling his coffee in his cup. "There are a few training missions that happen once in a while and there are also classes you can go to. You should try to get into them, but if you go, don't be late."
The not-attack did, absolutely nothing. Haunter laughed more at the sight of the Pidgeotto trying to peck him and only managing to go through. "Haunter!"

"Classes?" Tambrey inquired, a brow arched. "What sort of classes, from who and how do you find out when one is on? Do we have, like, a notice board or something?" Clearly, it appealed. "Oh, and pardon for so many questions so rapidly asked, but what sort of a mission did you go on?"
Palu was sulking and fuming. All she could do was glare at the ghost and grumble to herself. And she was very aware of her trainer doing naught but smirking at her pokemon's predicament.

"Slow down there, one question at a time." He looks up and tossed a small teasing smile. "The classes are usually held in the training rooms and one of the elites usually teaches them. Mostly they are pokemon battles tactics training. And usually we get everything through e-mail so check it often."
Shadow floated above her feeling that he had succeeded, in something.

The woman nodded, swirling her coffee remnants. "Check email, gotcha. That actually sounds pretty interesting. So... I'm guessing the elites are pretty strict with 'em too? And.. you mentioned you went on a mission..." She prompted, determined to learn about potential future activities.
Palu was, meanwhile, stomping her way back to her trainer to huff and huddle next to her chair, her beak turned up at the Haunter.
