Lichen stared at Balios for a moment, he just never stopped talking, even when there didn't seem to be anything to talk about the teen just kept on rambling about something. It was a bit unnerving. Though he had to agree with Balios that he did very much like it here in this pack, most of the wolves here were nice and didn't mind the fact that he wasn't very social. Of course the idea of going to other packs, even if it was just to visit, was totally out of the question. That was unless father ever decided to leave YMCA, which Lichen hoped would never happen. But if it did he would follow his father wherever he went and he would make sure that Bracken came with them. He could not imagine life without his father and brother, they were everything to him.

Balios finally noticed that he was rambling, and that the other wolf was quite silent in return, and got the hint that perhaps he was talking too much. He gave a sheepish smile. "But that's enough," he said, and gave a little flick of his tail. "I'll just be going then, to get that food for the two of us. Do you mind if it's nothing too big? I don't think it would be very wise for me to try and hunt anything big by myself. But I bet I can get us...well, something."

Finally he seemed to be running out of things to say, or maybe Balios realized that Lichen still wasn't horribly comfortable with talking or being talked to. Oh right, he had offered to go get some food earlier. Well Lichen wasn't about to say no to that and nodded slightly, he was after all still hungry. "S-sm-small is....f-fine." It didn't need to be a large or extravagant meal, just something to tie him over until father came back later in the day.

"Well, alright then," he said, and drew himself fully up to his full height, tail giving a slow wag. This went well, he thought. Overall he was quite pleased. "It was nice talking with you, Lichen. I'll be back in awhile."
And he would. That was a key step in relations: keeping your word.
So, giving his new friend a last, parting smile, the dappled pup took off in search of a rabbit, or a fat sleeping quail, or a hapless fish. Whatever he could get his paws on.
