Created for good and twisted, that was all too familiar.
"One would think it wouldn't have survived the battle." he replied, feeling a twinge of his own that was nothing like pride.
Years ago, love. That makes no difference.

"Before the invasion, I gave the former admiral one-hundred or so of these devices. I was so looking forward to seeing a cyborg Maltir. As wiith any experiment, there can be an x-factor that ruins everything." Prof. Bohr looked around and saw a few more of his devices scattered around the charred ground. If anyone mistakenly picked one up, they would probably become a cyborg. However, the chances of that were quite low. The professor's inventions were clearly damaged.

"I see."
If he had his way, there was no chance that a Maltir would ever be exposed to that technology. The reversal was becoming clearer and clearer by the moment; it would be a simple enough ritual, not too much ceremony involved.
Emma smiled in satisfaction, light-years away.
"I heard that the Admiral was taken in battle."

"He was executed and his remains were shipped to on of our controlled systems. Jenson always had an air of incompetence to him." As he spoke, Prof. Bohr pulled out a touchpad and started to jot down some notes.

"Not one of your favorites among Cort's officers, then?"
He skimmed the surface of the mind of a bird-like creature wheeling in the sky behind the professor, steering the animal a little closer, trying to obtain an image of the notes he was taking.
It could never hurt.

"You are correct, sir. I'm quite pleased that his daughter is admiral now. She was far more competent that he ever was. Unfortunately, she is like an hungry wolf. She wants to outdo her father. Youth can make one very foolish." Having nothing to hide, Prof. Bohr made no attempt to conceal what he was doing. For the most part, it seemed to be a list. Of what could be anyone's guess.

"So they can be."
He took the information about Jenson's daughter into account, relaying it to Emma even as he did so.
You'd think he would know your name. Cort would have relayed it, wouldn't he? He may have. Can you check? Something tells me that mental invasion may not be the best idea here.

"By the way, how is your wife doing?" he asked with mild concern. "My technology did a better job than I would have dared to dream." Though Hrothbert had his attention, Prof. Bohr continued to jot notes down on his touchpad.

"She has made a full recovery."
And the traces of anti-magic residue left in her body had helped him reach a solution for counteracting it.
So he does know. Good. Hardly.

"I also detect a spike in your brainwave patterns. You are either pondering something deeply, or you are speaking with your significant other telepathically. The latter makes sense. How is the little one, Emma? I trust you're not too sore." Though he had no way of knowing what Hrothbert was doing, Prof. Bohr had a habit of just going with the most logical choice.

"Both, actually." he replied with a wry smile, releasing a spell he had in reserve.
A hazy image of the enchantress appeared beside her husband, looking surprisingly calm and collected. It may have been the infant in her arms that contributed to that, Winnie had a remarkable talent for soothing her mother in times of stress. "She is well."

"Very good. It would probably be wise to stay out of these violent affairs. You do have a child to think about. If I am not mistaken, a skeletal entity had to whisk you to safety once before. I must get a sample of that magic as well," he rambled.

"Yes, it was very kind of him to do so." he mused, still keeping an eye on the recently-transformed cyborg that the animal had become.
"It's hardly fitting for a weak and feeble woman such as I." Emma drawled, her image wavering like mist.

"This does bring up an interesting question. Why did you two get involved? Shouldn't earth be of more concern?" Prof. Bohr walked over the the transformed scavenger. Having its mind bent to his will, Prof. Bohr simply stroked the animal's head. "I might take you home with me," he said to the cyborg animal.

Telling him of the friendship between the Emperor and Empress and themselves would be possibly one of the worst choices made by either.
"If Cort conquers the Galactic Roman Empire, we have no doubt that it will be Earth he comes for next."
A web of magic extended itself, locating the rest of the devices like the one that had transformed the animal.
