Lily frowned slightly at the comment about being stupid, but her frown fell away whem Paris said he had registered as a boy. That lie wasn'exactly a small one, but even so one would be hard pressed to make Lily believe that Paris wasn't the perfect one for the part.
"When you danced I saw passion and percision. If they saw what I saw they will overlook your gender. I mean I'll say it again, you were the best dancer thus far."
Lily grinned when Paris echoed her and nodded, "yes suprised. Hopefully they will be open minded, afterall witha more flowimg skirt you gender can be most suffciently hidden."
When Paris stated he had mde a fool out of himself Lily shook her head. "No, you just showed a little guts is all. Guts and talent."
Lily looked to Paris wondering how to cheer the boy up some more, but was't really sure how. She smiled softly and gave Paris a curious glance, "Hey do you like hot cocoa or Karaoke?"

He wasn't sure he believed Lily, though her comments and compliments made him feel a little better. It was nice to have someone appreciate his talent. He knew he was a fantastic dancer, but it always felt good to have others recognize it, too. And Lily was a dancer herself, and not a horrible one at that; she would know better than anyone where true talent lied.
"Thanks," he said. She still seemed confident after all that, and while he knew he'd given a sensational performance, he wasn't entirely sure that it would be enough to secure the role. He looked up at Lily and studied her for a few moments, wondering if her confidence was perhaps a little naive. Whether or not it was, both it and her encouragement were genuine -- he could tell that much.
A small smile appeared on his face at her question. "I like chocolate in all of its many forms -- hot, cold, liquid or solid. And I've never really done karaoke before, but I love music and I like singing, so I wouldn't mind giving it a try." He even thought he had a decent voice, but it wasn't like he was serious about it. "Why?" he wondered.

"Your welcome," she said smiling happy the boy took the compliment as it was without a fight. She did not like be called stupid and she really was trying to cheer him up.
It surprised her a bit when he smile and her smile brightened at it. Paris like chocolate and singing, and Lily thought that was too great. She really hoped he would except her offer to cheer him up because she thought she knew just the ticket for a hard audition.
"Oh nothing really," she said with a grin trying to be a bit sly, but failing, as her eyes were twinkling merrily. "It's just that there is this new karaoke cafe and bar call Hindsight, I went once and it very nice, though I highly recommend a private room, if you wish to save your ears. I was thinking maybe we could go, you know to cheer you up, my treat."
Lily continued to smile waiting for Paris to except of reject her offer. She really hoped he accepts, Paris seemed an interesting person to get to know and Lily was most certainly not adverse to a new friend.

Paris wasn't normally one to make friends, at least not so easily, and definitely not in the midst of competitions. He took his dancing too seriously to give very many people the time or the opportunity to get to know him when came to these sorts of things. It was easier to keep that distance and not make a friendly connection with people, especially if it wasn't even going to last in the first place. That, and there were so few people he genuinely liked to begin with.
He still wasn't sure what to think about Lily. She was kind, which he didn't often see, especially in his situation. Sure, people liked him, but he knew his attitude tended to rub some people the wrong way, especially the nice sort of people who could be easily hurt. He wasn't sweet or gentle by any means, and he was often troublesome to get along with, especially when he was in one of his moods. Throw in the fact that he didn't always enjoy the company of girls, and you have a set of very difficult circumstances in which to get to know someone.
But Lily was trying, and that was more than most people did.
"Sure," he answered, the slightest bit hesitant, but doing his best to sound as confident as always. Maybe this wouldn't end up as much in the long run, but there wasn't anything wrong with having a little fun now. "I'd like that. I could use the distraction. Besides," he said, straightening up and standing from the chair, holding his head up a bit arrogantly, but he was smiling, too, "I've got a decent voice. I might as well show that off, too."
