He blinked as she jabbed at him, instincts kicking in as he dodged by crouching, rolling to the side. Sin had taught him to dodge, and now he was going to protect himself from her little jabs here and there. He stared at her, awkward to say the least, and looked at the ground, pawing at it. "My sister...I have five siblings and she is one of them. She has her own tribe, now." He said quietly, eyes lifting to watch her. He eyed her paws, the paw with the BCR's on it shifting so he made a soft jingling sound.
"You don't have family, do you?"

She shook her head. Dodgy little fox, he was. This, of course, just made the vixen want to try to bring out his inner-kit, get him to be more open and playful. His question about family side-tracked her, though.
Champagne shook her head again. "Nope, not that I know of! I have a mother, of course, and obviously a father too, somewhere, but I was strangely an only kit! I haven't seen mother for a long long time, so I don't know if she's found another mate or if father came back and I don't know if I have step-siblings or anything either."
She grew quiet for a second, glancing down at the BCR's on her paws and softly swishing the three on her tail. "What's it like, having brothers and sisters?"

Tenma looked at her, wondering if she would understand. Being a only child and rather pretty she probably didn't experience what he had. The grey male sat on his haunches, staring at the ground. He was overlooked a lot, it had been his fault though, he had been quiet and easy going, obedient to his fathers. Everyone else had been a handful, or helped a lot, like Kithara and Yavie. Yavie was noticed because she was insane. Kithara and Itov helped their fathers with everyone. Nitya was spunky, the youngest, and had caused a lot of trouble by accident. Altan was the kit that repaired everyones bonds to Grandma Miki.
What had he been?
The one lost in his thoughts. The one that thought to much before he spoke, and when he finally knew what to say people had grown tired and walked off. The one that never cried, ever. The one that hardly laughed. What was he?
Lonely. But he couldn't tell her that. She wouldn't understand. The grey fox peered at her before speaking, ears flipping against his head. "It was.... fine." He lied, but she wouldn't know if it was a lie or not.

"Fine?" She blinked, then trotted up to the male, sitting in front of him. "Fine? Just fine? Tenma!" Champagne shifted her body, and nearly bumped noses with the fox before she sat back on her haunches. "Tenma, you had foxes to grow up with! To play with! To... to... do stuff with! You had others to talk to, to discover the world with! How can that just be... fine?"
The normally bouncy fox was sensitive to very few things. Family, and lack there-of, was one of them.

He wanted to recoil from her. Did she realize that if he played with them he wouldn't be this way? Nervous about himself and his body, awkward to the extreme. Instead he faked a smile, nodding slightly. Whatever made her happy, if it stopped her from freaking out. "I guess you're right." He had reverted back to simple sentences, unsure what to say. Was he a disappointment to her? This thought sent the male into a miniature mental panic, backing completely away from her, into the shadows once more.
"It's getting late, I probably should let you get on your way instead of hold you up. It's going to snow soon." It was true. Unlike his uncle he had sensitive smell, and he could smell snow. He had never seen it before, but his fathers had taught him the scent and what to expect, before he blended into the world.

Snow? She loved snow! Her trip to the mountains one time had introduced her to it, and oh it was so much fun!
"Wait wait!" Champagne bounced after the male. "Wait, don't go! I have no where to be, you're not holding me up at all! Unless..." She stopped. "Unless you don't like me?" The tri-colored vixen scampered back a few steps, head ducking down like it did when they first met. "I-I'm sorry if I made you nervous, I just... I haven't seen a fox in a few days, and it gets lonely, especially if you like to talk like I do... And you're a really interesting fox to talk to, I like you! But... if you don't like me I'm sorry... I'll just... leave you be?"

She liked him?
The fox's eyes widened, staring at her in doubt and shock. Had she really said that? But, why would she want to be friends with him. She did make him nervous. She wasn't the other girls he knew, she was different. They accepted him for who he was, and he came to realize and embrace that. Something was different about Paige, he didn't know what but he knew it was different.
He watched her back up, mind struggling to think of what to say. If he didn't speak soon she would run away, but he didn't know what to say. He had to say something. He had to stop her. But what to say? What was right?
'She's backing away, she's leaving. Say something say something say something!' He didn't want her to think he hated him!
"Don't!"

Huh? The word was so sudden, so forceful, so loud coming from this quiet fox, the vixen froze. Her ears perked way up, her eyes grew wide in astonishment. Champagne blinked. Don't? Don't... leave? So... did that mean he didn't not like her?
Slowly, Champagne turned back to Tenma, unsure. Why did he not want her to go? He tried to leave first, and she was the one who scared him into doing so. She looked at Tenma and blinked. "Ok."
It was the shortest sentence the fox had ever spoken.
For a second, all was quite. The chattery vixen just stared at the artistic pelted male. Then, a single snowflake blew in the wind between them. Champagne squeaked and pounced, her love for snow instantly snapping her out of the trance. Of course, when she caught the flake it melted, so when she lifted her paws up there was nothing to see. From her crouched position on the ground, she looked up at the male and grinned.
((not a 'I'm gonna pounce you next' grin, but a 'Yay! Fun!' grin~))

He watched the snowflake fall, another falling onto his nose. He let out a startled growl at the feeling of cold on his nose, looking at the sky as it fell. The grey male forgot about his awkwardness for a second, lips twitching into a nervous smile.
"Is this...snow?" He whispered, laughing quietly under his breath. He turned to look at Paige before looking at the sky above once more.
"It's....beautiful."

At the sound of Tenma's growl, the vixen's eyes widened and then she giggled. "Yep, this is snow~" Her voice was full of wondrous cheer as she looked up at the flakes beginning to fall more heavily. They would need to find a place to hunker down soon, but Champagne wanted to have fun first.
Giggling and squealing, she pounced, swatted, and snapped at every flake within reach, acting very much like a kit. She couldn't help it. The white fluffy stuff was just so much fun, and too beautiful to simply sit and stare at for too long. Of course, with the beauty comes the cold, and it wasn't long before Champagne shivered.
With a grin, the tri-colored fox sat right down in front of Tenma, took a deep breath through her nose, and breathed out through her mouth, sending a cloud right in the males face. It was another thing Champagne loved about the snow: it made it cold enough to see your breath!

Tenma blinked when she drew closer, fighting the urge to back away. His eyes lowered to hold her gaze, tilting his head until the female blew a breath in his face. He backed away as fog hit him, staring at the sight before letting out a breath of his own.
"That's...strange." He mused lightly before smiling awkwardly at Champagne. He was older than her, and yet she knew about snow. Perhaps he had been traveling in places that snow was not falling all this time? The traveler watched Champagne, lowering his head to smile at her.
"I guess the wait for snow was worth it."

She grinned even bigger. "It's always worth it!"
The snow was falling more heavily now, enough was on the ground that Champagne could leap around and leave tracks, which of course she did! It didn't take her long to notice her companion was just... staring. Smiling, yes, which made the vixen feel all glow-y inside, but he wasn't playing around. She padded over to him and shook the flakes out of her head fluff.
"You know, snow is more enjoyable when you play in it." She smiled at him. "It won't be long before we can build a snowfox! Oh. Wait. You never built a snowfox, if you've never seen snow... But that's ok! I'll teach you! It's really easy, you just have to roll snow into a big ball, and then a smaller ball which you stack on top, then shape some ears and a tail, and find rocks for eyes and maybe a pinecone for a nose! Tee hee!"

The younger vixen was rambling about snowfoxes, making the male give her a strange, unusual look. He smiled slightly once more, he couldn't help it. She was being hyper, like a kit, and for some reason he found it... funny? Cute, perhaps. He shook his head, pawing at the cold ground.
"We could use you as a model." He offered, looking up to see if what he said was out of place. He was relaxing, slowly, but he was. The oddly colored male didn't really know what to do with snow, he had traveled in areas where snow did not fall. Last winter he must have been traveling so much that he missed the snow everytime.

Model? She tilted her head. Champagne never heard of anyone using a model for a snowfox. Of course, Tenma didn't know this, so the vixen grinned and nodded excitedly, deciding to just go with it.
"That's a good idea! That way you can learn to build one better, because it's always easier when you just try!" She ran back a couple steps, turned in a few circles, and sat. "I can sit just like this, and you could build it beside me! Well, I'll have to show you how to roll snow balls and ...OH! Snowballs! Heehee! We have to have a snowball fight, but that can wait until later, because you have yet to do anything but back away and cringe so we can wait until you're more comfortable because in snowball fights you have to run around and throw balls of snow at foxes and avoid the ones being thrown at you! Which is really hard because you got to roll the ball and then either use your nose or stand up on your hind paws to throw it, and at the same time you got others trying to do the same and throw them at you, but it is so much fun!"
By the time she had finished her speech, she had gathered up a powdery pile of snow in front of her and packed it into a loose ball. When she picked it up, though, to show her shy new friend, it crumbled and fell, as did her face. With the snow so loose like that, it would be really hard to do anything at all.
