Samael chuckled and smiled, nodding his head. When the pup bounded over and asked to play, he crouched down as well, swinging his tail slowly, "Well, you better run, because I'm going to get you!" he 'roared' chasing after him.

Loki squealed and quickly turned on his heals running and bounding about, when Samael started chasing after him. Laughing and giggling all the while, he couldn't have asked for a better family in his eyes. Even if his "parents" did act a little funny around each other, and didn't look like him he didn't care.
Nyx laughed and sat herself down in a snow cleared spot watching Loki and Samael play. More and more she was getting the warm fuzzy feeling that was brought about by family and home. She only wondered if it would last, if maybe Samael felt the same way, she knew that they needed to talk that she had to get how she felt out there, but she was so afraid of scaring him away.

He laughed as he chased the small pup about, glad he was full of energy, even if he wasn't even a day old out of his clam. He let him keep ahead of him, enjoying the game of chase in the snow.

Knowing that they were sure to be hungry once their game was up Nyx stepped back into the den to get some fish ready for when they came in.
Loki laughs and running about before bolting off of a tree trunk doing a flip in the air and landing on Samael's back. "Hiya papa! I got you!" He said with a grin and then started nomming on Samael's ear, "why do you and mama act funny around eachother? Even in the clam, I couldn't see you and yet I could tell." He said nodding vigorously, about being smart.

He laughed a bit when the pup 'got' him and he flopped onto his side when the pup started chewing on his ear. When he asked him what was wrong with him and mommy, he blinked, "I really....I don't know son.." he said softly.

Loki tilts his head to the side before rolling over onto his back looking up at the clouds, "seems to me... like you get like how I've felt since I've been about chasing the bug or rolling in the snow... It makes me all super happy inside..." rolls over and looks at Samael, "except its like you two hide it like you don't want each other to know." He said and then rolled about in the snow again.

He blinked at the pup as he talked and then started rolling about in the snow. 'Not even a day old and he is already so wise. Heh, the newer generations are something to watch indeed....' he thought to himself, shaking his head and looking up into the sky.

Loki stopped rolling about after a moment and looked over at Samael suddenly remembering something that he had heard from his clam. "Papa?" he said waiting until he had Samael's attention, "what does the word love mean?"

His eyes widened a bit and then he let out a breath, "Love...is something I don't feel you are old enough to understand right now little one." he said.

"Awww..." Loki said pouting a bit, "but I heard mama..." he started to say but then saw Nyx emerging from the den with a leaf full of fish and berries and bound up to his feet and ran over to her. "Ouu! Whats that mama?" He said sniffing at it.
After gathering some food from the den on a leaf Nyx emerged from the den with lunch for the three of them, when Loki bound over she smiled at him. "I thought the two of you might be hungry," she said dragging it along over to where Samael was still laying.

He blinked and was about to ask him what did mama say, but he ran off and he decided not to think on it anymore. He smiled when Nyx came out with a fish, not moving from his spot. "That looks like a good breakfast for all of us." he exclaimed.

Nyx set the fish down in front of Samael and then went and laid down beside him, "did you boys have a fun play?" she asked purring happily.
Loki nodded vigorously and then and went and pounced onto Samael's back putting his paws on his papa head. "Uh huh! Cept papa won't tell me what love means?"

Samael smiled when Nyx brought the fish to them, but he frowned when the pup hopped onto him and declared that. Standing up, he gently nudged him off, "You two eat, I am going to patrol." he said, not wanting to discuss love or anything of that matter. He made off, using his tail to cover his tracks in the snow.

"Now, now Loki... somethings you're just to young to understand yet, cutie." Nyx said addressing the situation, though her heart broke a little inside when Samael suddenly seemed like he was uncomfortable and wanted to be on his own.
Loki made a scrunched up face at Samael's sudden need to leave and patrol the area,and he huffed a bit about still not getting an answer, "ok fine fine..." he said sticking out his tongue. "Can we eat now?"

Samael went off, but didn't stray all that far from the territory of the den. He caught himself a fish in a part of the river that wasn't iced over and he got his breakfast. He was feeling irritated and uncomfortable and those feelings only went away when he was alone.
He came back around noon, the sun high in the sky, but the area still quite cold. His irritation was pretty much gone, but the feeling of uncomfortableness and other feelings still lingered. He just hoped he could get them straightened out.
