You've Been Prompt'd! The Prompt Whinn caught sight of the most adorable minipet that she's ever seen. It was heading away from the school and she instantly decided to follow! But to her horror, she found herself led to the very crowded maul! It's practically impossible to find the minipet, or her way out, even! Write a prompt (and pm it to me, if you'd like<3 I'm nosy like that) about Whinn, her journey into the maul, and the minipet that led her there!

Ice Queen You've Been Prompt'd! The Prompt Whinn caught sight of the most adorable minipet that she's ever seen. It was heading away from the school and she instantly decided to follow! But to her horror, she found herself led to the very crowded maul! It's practically impossible to find the minipet, or her way out, even! Write a prompt (and pm it to me, if you'd like<3 I'm nosy like that) about Whinn, her journey into the maul, and the minipet that led her there! There was probably a reason why she never had been to the maul by herself, but whatever that reason was was lost. As soon as the noise hit her ears, Winona was at its mercy.
So many people! she thought with a terrified expression, drawing her hood up quickly before plugging her ears. How can they all be inside at the same time? Oh no . . . The minipet might be squished under their feet! She shuddered at the thought. Here she might have summoned Tenebrae to ease her anxiety some, but she was sure he would need to be carried in order to avoid that same "being squished" risk - and if he was carried, she wouldn't be able to save her ears from the noise.
On her own it would be. Gulp . . .
Honestly, she was beginning to think Tenebrae's nose for trouble was starting to rub off on her.
How odd the young reaper must have looked to the maul shoppers, her hood up, her ears plugged, and her eyes glued to their feet as she passed. This wasn't out of the norm for someone like Whinn - it just so happened that today she actually had a reason to do so. After a while, though, Whinn had to question just how large the maul had to be. When she had visited with her father on several occasions, they had always moved directly to the shops they needed to be at and then leave with no room to meander; as such, the map of the maul in her mind had been very, very narrow, represented by lines on a crude map that followed their straightforward paths. Out on her own, though, it was . . . just so much larger! She almost felt dizzy when she looked up.
It was much like how she felt in the academy - but at least in the academy she had a room to retreat to! Here, she felt so . . . so out in the open! Her heart began to beat a little faster with anxiety. The amount of shoppers, the vast space to travel, the fact that she was just one a one the masses, the worry over a minipet that could have been stepped on . . . !
She actually had to stop at one point to take a few deep breaths and recollect herself, though her heart remained anxiously beating. For a few seconds, she even felt dizzy.
Somehow, someway, she found herself at one of the minipet stores. Clutching at the desk, she frantically looked about the containers, the shelves, and the floor once more, until -
OhthankJack. There was the fat rascal in the cashier's arms now! Apparently the guy had noticed the wandering cat and had lured it in with some treats.
Not that he got much more time to explain himself. So flustered as she was (not to mention embarrassed), Winona dropped several pumpkin seeds on the countertop gratefully before picking up the cat, gingerly letting him sit inside her coat, waving hastily goodbye, and then reluctantly letting herself back outside into the horror of space and people and sound.
She re-plugged her ears and set off at a brisk pace back to school, the cat happy to sit on her chest and purr innocently.
Never again would she go to the maul on her own.

The gnomes had found a new pastime that involved paper airplanes, Audley's office, and games of fetch with the Acceptance Bin.
The resulting influx of accepted students is still under investigation.
