"An honest mistake," she purred, which made it more than clear that it had been intentional. She grabbed the blue boxing gloves as they were chucked at her. The expression on her face spoke enough about how much of a surprise this was to Nemesis. Need a hint? There was not a single element of surprise. Nemesis was a repeat-offender. She was sure it ticked off some of the other members of the Blood Moon Court, and honestly that was even more incentive to do it. She'd give herself an award if she managed to piss off everyone in the Blood Moon Court. It'd be five-feet tall, with a silver skeleton perched on the very top.
"Oh, but you said that last time, Ares, and I'm pretty sure I kicked your a**." An impish grin spread across her face, her blue eyes darkening with malicious pleasure. Nemesis liked fighting. It was an excellent way to release all of her pent up anger. Honestly, Ares was one of the best opponents she could find, and intentionally showing up late to a training session was one way to guarantee a shot at kicking Ares' a**.
She accepted the handicap without complaint, as if having the use of only one arm wasn't going to hinder her fighting abilities. It'd be even more beautiful to beat Ares with one arm. It took her a few minutes to tape her left arm to her side, and that too may have been intentional. She loved making Ares wait on her. This was her alternative to drugs, smoking, and drinking. This was the sort of high that Nemesis enjoyed most.
The Senshi of Decay was finally ready, her thin lips having not one loosened from that feral grin. "I hope you don't mind being humiliated, Ares."

"Gotcha. I'll bring food next time." Euterpe looked up the stairs, starting a slow ascent up. From where the noise was coming from, it was obvious she didn't need to escort him. Even when she warned him to hasten, it only seemed to slow the musical senshi down. He entered the room with one hand in pockt and the other raised, about to wave.
...
.....
"I hope you don't mind being humiliated, Ares."
He stood in the doorway, frozen there, hardly bothering with the tact to slip to the side discreetly."Oh? I've got excellent timing if I get to see a fight between you two." He whistled, eyes widening. A great show and he had a front-row seat. Damn, if that wasn't lucky. The infamous whats-her-name versus the other whats-her-name-two. Sadly, it was a fact that Euterpe's memory didn't last very long. Especially with names.
"One handed too. Whoa. That's going to be one amazing feat." Whether she pulled it off or not, it'd be fairly impressive either way.

((xD! RA, that was exactly how Scylla was coming down the stairs from the balcony she's on. I told Kina that before my first post!))
From experience, Sailor Scylla knew exactly how high the rails were on most of the staircases in her house. She gripped the rails now and planted her bottom firmly on the rail and let go. "Wheee!" it came out of her throat a mix between a giggle and a shriek, and her overall performance as she slid down the polished hardwood rail would have earned her a 7- her landing was off. Terribly off, in fact, as she landed, and proceeded to keep going, landing on her knees instead of her feet.
Sailor Scylla was up on her feet quickly, looking up her nose defensively at anyone around who was taller than her- or shorter, for that matter. "Oops." she told Ares.
And then Nemesis walked in- late, mind you, and a perfect distraction- and Ares pounced on her. Oh dear, here it would go. Scylla's heels clicked on the floor as she made her way over to Sirius, and gave the other Court member a smile that was deceitfully pleasant. In about 5 minutes it wouldn't be. "We'll watch them fight if you want to for a bit, and then we'll get started. What are you up for today, practice-wise?"
A blonde was walking in; Euterpe, her memory told her. Another she'd seen at meetings. She nodded at him briefly, wondering who would pick him up for round two.

Too much talking was going on. Ares had warmed up on the punching bag a moment ago, and now she was primed and ready to go, if a bit tired. "Your win last week was just proof at how well you've been trained." It had ended with Ares being flipped backwards out of the ring by a kick. (Sometimes the girls bent the rules of the ring.) "I'll have you out of the ring before you can blink." A grin split her lips, gave away her excitement for the fight.
All this talk of falling out of the ring made her think of wrestling, or even sumo wrestling. Perhaps they could do that next time? It was true that Ares spent much of her time thinking up battle situations for her to test with Nemesis in these exact situations.
When Scylla came down the banister, Ares only snorted. "Anyone is welcome to the ring when we're done," she said, walking toward the door. Just then, she noticed Euterpe. "Well, that is after Cadet Euterpe has his sparring session. You're late, Euterpe! Somebody pick him -- actually." Her eyes fell to Sirius. "Sirius, you're a first time offender, but this is good experience. Would you face Euterpe in the boxing ring, no handicaps?" Her eyes strayed to Birhan Isat. There was an unspoken: could you see to this?
As she moved into the next room ahead of Nemesis, Ares caught Albali's eye and said, "Could you go get Zirc? Thanks." And then she disappeared into the boxing ring.

THE BOXING RING Anyone can box in this ring! But we take turns. Two competitors in the ring at a time. Matches will be short with all battlers starting at 12HP. Tired characters or injured characters may start with less HP, if desired, but this is up to you. At the start of a fight, put your HP in bold at the bottom of your post, and then track it throughout the fight. To attack your opponent, you will roll two dice. In a normal fight, you will roll two 6-sided dice. The first number determines whether or not the punch hits. The second number decides how much damage is done to the opponent. If the first number is even, then the punch hit.If the first number is odd, then the punch misses. In a handicapped fight, the individual who possesses the handicap will roll two 4-sided dice. The same rules as above apply. For example, using the numbers above, a normal fighter threw a punch, but it missed. IF IT HAD HIT, 4HP would have been subtracted from the opponent. Make sense? Good!NOW LET'S FIGHT!

"Physical training is fine," Requiem said, addressing Birhan. She was worried about physical training, especially given her own clumsiness, but that was something she had been working on, and hopefully something she could continue to improve on. Besides, it was her first day, the last thing she wanted to do was say no to anything. She was pretty sure that even if its her last day, you never say no.
Requiem gave a small smile and curtsey to Nemesis as she arrived late, and quickly became captivated by Ares's challenge. A Senshi-on-Senshi boxing match? She was certainly intrigued, and worried she was going to be called to do the same as part of her training. "Is that what we'll be doing, Birhan? Boxing?"

"Don't make it sound like you're the one who trained me, and are the sole cause of my greatness." She was a cocky creature, full of confidence that had likely only been nurtured by her membership in the BMC. Nemesis had been in the game for a while now, she had taught herself how to fight, how to survive. Sure, she had picked things up from the Dream Team (especially team work), but Nemesis would never admit it. "I taught myself, kiddies," she directed towards the new cadets. The senshi thoroughly believed that it was okay to mess with Ares, and undermine her authority a little bit, up to a certain point.
Nemesis had yet to reach that point.
She followed behind Ares, though when they made it to the ring, Nemesis was the first to enter it. At least this wasn't a wrestling match, Nemesis did not want to be reminded of the disaster the last wrestling match she was in had become. Nemesis did not want to be reminded that she had failed to get a crystal. She wanted one, and there may not have been a more legitimate reason than the fact that everyone else wanted one too.
Ares had just entered the boxing ring, and it started. Nemesis didn't wait for a 'go', she didn't wait for Ares to further prepare herself for the fight. She was in the ring, and goddamn, she was Nemesis' now. With how often they sparred, Ares might not have been surprised by this surprise attack.
The Senshi of Decay surged forward, body angled just a little to the side to make herself a smaller target. At least she wasn't fighting more dirty from the get-go. She threw an honest punch towards Ares' face.

"At some point we'll have a go, yeah," Birhan nodded. Hands were on her hips (crossed under her boobs just made her worry about popping out and flashing) as she watched Ares and Nemesis begin their match.
She took note of Requiem's worried expression and grinned. "Don't worry, I'll be the one with the handicap, not you. I doubt you could piss me off as much as Nemesis seems to be doing to Ares."
Sparing some envy for Scylla for having a place like this (what Ari wouldn't give for her own gym!), Birhan bounced in place and turned to Requiem. "First, let's give you some basics before we throw you in the ring. They say tossing someone in the deep end is the best way to teach them to swim, but it helps if the person has an idea of what swimming is, first." She gave Requiem a grin and a wink. Clearly Birhan wasn't an angry taskmaster - though Requiem shouldn't mistake that to mean Birhan wasn't a tough taskmaster. She just didn't think military style yelling at recruits would keep them around for long - or make for fun teaching, and if Birhan had to teach, she was doing it in her style.
"Alright, let's find ourselves a bit of space and you can show me what you know about punching."
To Euturpe and Sirius, she clapped her hands and pointed at another area, close by. "Let's get this party started!" she cheered. "I'm Birhan Isat - quite a mouthful, Birhan is fine - and I suppose I'm your referee for today. No groin shots, no hair pulling, no eye gouging - not on each other, anyway. Whatever you want to do against the Negaverse is all good, in my books. You two think you can manage to emulate those two," she jerked her head in the direction of Ares and Nemesis, "hopefully with less insults?"

Albali had been the silent observer for all this, something that was sometimes rather uncharacteristic for the sarcastic and outspoken senshi. But she had already gone through her paces with Ares that night, and was not entirely keen about revealing her attack so soon. More and more, the Senshi of Echoes was feeling more like a kept secret and didn't think it was exactly wise to anyone who walked through the door what she could do.
So instead, the ribbon-wrapped senshi had perched on a table with one of her many multi-colored clipboards and handy-dandy senshi cellphone. The thing was not nearly half as useful as her Blackberry, and Eilian would have cut off her leg for a Filofax that could hold senshi information. However, she was intelligent enough to realize that not only was that grossly inefficient, it was a breech of confidentiality. No, she would not at all be a good lawyer if she started such a lax practice now! So instead, the blank paper on the board had been quickly filled with nicknames and initial observations. Ares was clearly Smoke, Zirconia was Kitty, Scylla had been a challenge. Eventually she'd settled on Calamari and hoped that no one realized what she was doing by labelling Nemesis as PIA (Pain in a**).
Her braided pigtails bounced once when Ares called out an instruction in her direction and her head snapped up, a ribboned arm saluting while scribbling. "On it." Scuffed, inky character shoes tapped briskly on the marble floors as that same head poked out of a door and addressed the Parallel guardian. "Zirconia? Ares is asking for you. Would you like to hop up?" Though still unsettled about the fact that not only was she talking to a cat and it liked to talk back, the Senshi of Smoke had a good deal of respect for this kitty. Albali could only do the same. After all, Fallon wouldn't trust in an actual fallacy.

Punching. Riiiiiight. Requiem remembered her encounter with that red headed, bow-and-arrow-wielding Negaverse agent who shot her. During the battle, she had become so distracted by trying to remember how to make a fist that she allowed herself to suffer an injury of being shot in the shoulder. Her wound had been treated by a friend, and was significantly better now, but she sure learned a lesson about making a fist then. But delivering a punch? That could still use some work.
"I know that your thumb goes outside your fist so you don't break it," she said weakly, recalling what she read on the internet about this topic. She had researched it lightly, and did try practicing her punches as she read the research, but stopped after punching a crack into her computer screen. "One punch, quickly followed by another jab."
She found some space (it was pretty easy, in such a luxuriously large room) and positioned herself for fighting - knees slightly bent, but kept firm to the ground, elbows tight and her forearms aligned, her fists defending her jaw. She gave a light punch into the space around with her right fist - with some movement in the hip - followed by a quick jab from her left fist.
"Something like that, I think?" She knew her punches were weak, but hopefully she at least had the form right.

It was very true that Nemesis could get under Ares's skin like no one else. Perhaps it was because they were similar, in this way. When Ares had been just another senshi of the parallel court, she often had this effect on her peers. Now that she was the one in charge, it was her turn to get her own cage rattled, apparently.
Well, fine.
It was perhaps not a coincidence that Ares had suddenly demanded boxing be something that they train. After her disappointing show in the Don Diablos competition (which she did not breathe a word about to anyone else), the senshi of smoke had taken a sudden voracious liking to punching things. Nemesis seemed like just as good a target as any.
Ares placed one hand on the rope and swung her leg in first. She had barely stood when Nem raced toward her, one hand tied to her side. The senshi of smoke tried to dodge left, but she misjudged the distance and ending up hitting the ropes with nowhere to go. The punch hit her square in the jaw -- definitely not the best start.
"Lucky shot," she spat, diving forward. Both arms wrapped around Nemesis, and she brought a series of right hooks swinging at her kidneys.

Birhan's eyes lit up and she danced from foot to foot. Finally, someone who'd done some actual research before throwing themselves into a fight. "Yesss," she hissed, barely restraining throwing a few punches of her own. "That is great form for someone who's never done this before. Uh, you haven't, right?" she quickly checked. No sense insulting someone if they'd taken up lessons or something. "Miles ahead of where my first student was when I started teaching her. She was quick learner, though, so you've got competition in that regard!" Another fierce grin, since Birhan didn't want Requiem to get complacent.
"You might get better results leading with the jabs, though. A few jabs, then a stronger punch." Birhan demonstrated. "And if you step forward on the big hit, putting all your weight behind it, that'll help make it stronger."
Well, as much weight as Requiem had to put behind anything. She was a tiny little thing in Birhan's eyes (admittedly, from her near-6ft height most people were small), so it was thankful that senshi status seemed to give boosts in areas like flexibility, speed and strength. It was just a shame that the Negaverse seemed to get the same perks.
"The Negaverse is totally going to underestimate you," Birhan gloated. "It's gonna be awesome!" Especially after the Blood Moon trained Requiem up. Tiny lacy senshi - with asskicking abilities. Damn but Ares had thought of something amazing with this.

Zirconia had been trying to eavesdrop on the conflict when she heard Abali say her name and then zoom, she had moved up those last remaining steps as fast as she could, trying not to let her pads slide on the marble floor as she had all four legs braced like she was ready to jump on something (Or somebody).
She arrived just in time so see Nemesis connect a punch to the Senshi of Smoke's jaw and once again, the cat's fur stood on end in agitation, this time far more serious than her silliness with Sirius moments earlier.
She let out a slight, quick yowl announcing her presence, since she was obviously summoned up here for a reason, but she had no actual words to say, especially since she felt she only had inappropriate things to spew out in regards to Nemesis and Ares that she thought went better unsaid.

It was a rush of adrenaline like no other. She could feel the impact of her fist against Ares' face, softened by the glove. Throwing a punch hardly hurt as much this way as it did in an actual battle, but there was still that satisfaction. "Come now," she taunted in those few short moments before Ares retaliated, "you know it wasn't luck." The world around her became insignificant. She hardly even took note of the floor underneath her feet. Her gaze was honed in on Ares, refusing to let the target out of her line of sight. Nemesis had fought long enough to pick up a thing or two on how to do it right.
In the beginning, she had been a bit of a disaster. She only knew how to fight from what she had seen in movies, and what was in the movies never translated well into real life. Nemesis had never been good at pulling off a good karate chop. Her fighting style lacked elegance and discipline, which made it just slightly harder to predict. She did what felt right in the moment.
And what felt right in that moment was wrapping her arms around Ares as she felt the senshi's own arms around her. She held Ares in a vice-grip, and with a low growl flipped the queen of the BMC over onto her back. That alone would never be enough to keep Ares' down, and so hovering over the other senshi, she raised back her arm and aimed a punch for her gut.

"I never really fought successfully," she said, emphasizing the last word of that. Sure, when she used her ability and some sort of blunt object as a weapon, she was able to win some battles. But with her fists? Not so much. She had been planning on changing her battle strategy. Try dealing some damage with her own might before relying on her ability. She gave Nemesis a quick glance, the one who gave her this advice. Right before they cracked a youma's head open with a rock. Fun times!
"The Negaverse will underestimate me?" she asked, a bit surprised. Perhaps she was underestimating herself, or Birhan was overestimating Requiem's might. Surely with training, she could make the Negaverse cry in fear. She thought about Birhan's tips - a few jabs, then a punch.
"Do you mean like this?" she asked, taking a step back to make more room as she got in position. She made three jabs with her left fist and then a punch with her right fist with a slight step forward, though this movement almost threw her off balance, but she managed to save herself. It felt easy punching air, but she imagined it might hurt her to punch a solid object like that. She knew that it hurt when she punched her computer monitor. "Is it going to hurt?"
She knew a that's what she said joke was bound to be said, so she continued on awkwardly after a pause. "...to punch something?"
