Drang merely smirked and lowered his head the scant inches she left between them. "No." He said simply. And the sky opened up on them and rain began falling from the grey sky.

A low growl rumbled in Nitya's chest, blending harmoniously with the gentle roll of thunder in the sky. They were close to the ocean, so chances are the storm would get bigger. And quick. The bright side to this was they didn't last long. The downside, all prey worth hunting would be hiding in their burrows or somewhere sheltered.
A flash of lightning crawled over dark clouds in the distance. It matched the patterns of the male's coat. "You have no choice," Nitya responded through her growl. The sound died out and the vixen began to stalk up the path. She just wanted to find somewhere relatively dry where she could wait the weather out, so she could hunt. She hoped the male would do the same, away from her.

"Oh, little warrior, there's always a choice." Drang pointed out, loping after her. "For example, you can choose to head in the direction I want to go. Or I can choose to go in the direction you want to go." And his stomach could choose that moment to remind him that he was hungry, not that he could do anything about that at the moment. He wrinkled his nose at the unwanted noise.
He looked up at the sky and watched the wind ravage the branches above them. "I hope Sturm doesn't stay out in it the entire time." He sighed, knowing that's exactly what his sister will do now that he wasn't there to get her somewhere dry.

"You know what, you're an a**," Nitya said, voice very matter-of-fact. She didn't turn around to look at the male as he followed after her. She could hear his footsteps, and also caught a rumbling nose that wasn't a growl or thunder. With her back to him the male would miss the brief smirk that flashed across her face.
Already they were under scant tree cover. The forest was slowly getting thicker, which would be needed once the sky really opened up. If one wanted to stay dry, at least.

"Mmm, I have been told that before, yes." Drang relpied. He'd also been called several other things, but he didn't mind. Drang's ears twitched every which way as he scanned the tree branches, looking out for mountain cats. They didn't particularly hunt in the rain, but all cats were opportunistic, and here they were, waltzing around in the trees. "Has anyone ever told you that you're very blunt?"

"Just about anyone fortunate or unfortunate enough to know me," Nitya responded. She could do subtly if she wanted, but she just had little patience for it. And so far this male didn't qualify for her to make an effort at it, so blunt it was!
"What do you keep looking around for? You got a posse or something following ya?"

Drang stopped scanning the overhead branches and looked at the silver vixen instead. He debated on whether or not to tell her he was looking for large predators, particularly mountain cats.
"I don't know what a posse is." He said instead, eyes darting back the the branches and off towards the bushes around them before landing on the little warrior again. "So I suppose the answer is no."

Nitya snorted. "A posse is a group. Usually they're got a purpose or another. You could almost say it's like a tribe, but it's a lot looser than than."
She turned her attention back to the forest. It had begun to thicken, and just in time. From the sounds above the rain was coming down harder. It would have to work to make it through the leaves, but she'd probably have to go in deeper. Her scar twinged.

"No, I only ever travel with Sturm." Drang replied. "And she went in the other direction. She probably wont come to collect me until after the storm lifts." Drang eyed the silver vixen and caught a small flinch of pain. It was actually the third time it had happened since they had started...talking.
"Are you hurt or something?" He asked reluctantly. He wondered if her scar was giving her trouble. He had never had that problem, but then, his scars were superficial. A fall here, a fight with Sturm there. None of his scars were as deep as hers.

"Sturm? Interesting name, given the current weather." Nitya glanced upward, but for the most part there was only a ceiling of green above their heads. She probably could have seen the sky if she looked long enough, tiny patches that would appear in the crevices here and there, but her neck was protesting at the position. Nitya could at least tell the sky was darker though, from the colors around them. With sunlight the floor would be bathed in an emerald glow filtering through the leaves.
She made a small face at the male's question. "I'm fine. I just ache a bit when rain or snow is about to fall." Nitya shrugged. "It's hard to appreciate how bad it was, now that it's healed. It wasn't just wide, it was deep." There was only one fox who knew just exactly how bad the wound had been, and Nitya hadn't seen her in a loooong time.
Her voice lowered a little, slightly rougher now. Another effect of the rain. Nitya suppressed a sigh. Rain was a good thing, but sometimes she wished she lived somewhere warmer and dryer.

"Yes, but a fitting name. She loves storms. The silly vixen will stay out in one all night if I don't shove her somewhere dry." Drang said in exasperation. "She's probably loving the fact that I'm not there right now. Not that I should probably tell her anything else today." he mused, licking at his shoulder again.
Drang studied Nitya after her comment about the scar. "There you go making assumptions again, little warrior." He pointed out. A picture of a broken male with lightning streaks on his side flashed through Drangs mind. The male's throat had been ripped out. "I've seen a wound like that before, and I wont be forgetting what it looked like."

Nitya turned her head to look back at the male. "My, my, and there you go making assumptions as well. I didn't say you'd never seen a wound like that, I said it's hard to appreciate how horrible my wound was by looking at my scar now."
She turned back to the to continue walking, more purpose in her stride. The lightning was almost directly overhead, and the storm was starting to sound like it would become nasty, fast!

"And I mentioned that I've seen a wound similar to yours, actually, it was worse, in order to inform you that I can appreciate how horrible your wound was. Next time I'll be less subtle about it, since you don't seem to be good at infering. That's not an assumption, I'm basing this off my own observations." Drang pointed out, using his overly haughty tone again.
There was a sharp, deafening crack above their heads as the sky split open and a huge beam of light struck a tree off to their side. The light disappeared but the tree seemed to be smouldering, and there wasn't enough rain leaking through if it decided to catch on fire.

Nitya was starting to suspect it, but now she was sure; the male was an idiot. She was about to ask if he'd ever experienced a major head injury and was therefore unable to grasp simple meanings anymore, when the lightning stuck.
She stood there for a moment, blinking furious to try to clear the blinding white spots from her vision. "Someone get the name of that lightning bolt, I want to lodge a formal complaint," she muttered, more to herself than anything else.

Drang let out a curse and his protective streak reared it's head. He used his body to shove Nitya, none too gently, away from the tree as a large branch slammed into the ground where she had been previously standing. Drang stared at the branch, knowing that it could have seriously harmed the female before rounding on the gray vixen.
"Are you out of your mind? Why did you just stand there? Didn't you hear the branch falling? And why on earth are you silly enough to take shelter under tall trees during a lightning storm?" He growled at the other. "You should be somewhere safer. Like a cave." He finished his lecture, turning to lick the new wound down his side from the branch scratching him. It wasn't deep but Drang was not please to be bleeding period.
