Fremere surfaced rather quickly, still having that grin on his face as Seidh took the calm route and used the ladder to get back into the pool and treaded water near the two boys. “I am glad your cake was good.” She replied simply as Fremere looked thoughtful for a moment.

“I shall be it!” The boy eagerly volunteered. Anything to get the game going and started faster! Luckily Seidh had been quickly briefed on how to play this game when her brother came over to get her and thus she wasted no time in starting to paddle away as Fremere closed his eyes and started to count to ten to give the other two some time to swim away. Afterwards he kept his eyes closed as he grinned widely, ready to play. “Marco!”

“Polo.”

The kids played the game for quite a while and the siblings enjoyed it greatly, though Seidh’s enjoyment was a lot more subdued than Fremere’s. Whenever Fremere wasn’t “it” he couldn’t help but snort and giggle while he tried to swim away or whenever he was quietly sneaking around on the pool ledge. When Seidh was it, she tried to listen to the sound of the boys moving through the water to find them and when she was not it, she would stay very quiet as she swam about and smile at times.

Eventually they called it quits after a while and Seidh bid Vance good bye as she climbed out of the pool and then went back to the shallow end to be with her mother.

Fremere was treading water once more near Vance as he looked thoughtful and then looked down. “That was fun!...Oh…! You wanna see if we can touch the bottom!” It was rather deep, it seemed like a good challenge!

Fremere held his arms out away from his body, kicking his legs back and forth as he amped himself for this dive. As Vance started to count down the boy stared down at the bottom of the pool intently, his expression one of sheer determination. On the count of three, Fremere angled himself down into the water and started to kick his feet and swing his arms as fast as he could to make it to the bottom. The boy made the descent with his eyes closed, as the chlorine would have burned his eyes (he tried swimming around wide eyed before; it ended horribly). After much aquatic flailing the boy’s fingers scraped the bottom and then he pushed off of the bottom to rocket himself back to the surface. It was just in time too, his little lungs felt like they were about to burst!

“It is far!” The boy agreed as he took in some much needed breath as well. His expression lit up though when he wound out that Vance had touched the bottom as well. “Awesome!” He cheered, raising one of his hands to give the boy a high five. “I did too!”

As the frog boy issued forth their next challenge, Fremere readily agreed. “Okay! Just a few more minutes….gotta catch my breath!”

Fremere twirled a bit as a he treaded water, following along with Vance who swam around him. He gave him the signal once he was ready and was grinning once more in anticipation. He was so pumped for this next challenge!

His expression turned into one of wide surprise and shock at the title the winner would receive. “Master the universe?” Fremere echoed in awe. “That’s….quite a master!” He pumped his fists then out of excitement. “I’m ready to start!” He cheered, staring at Vance intensely. There was a lot riding on this contest!

The ‘intensity’ of this battle was not lost on Fremere, as he continued to stare back at his comrade…no…FOE! There could be only one master! For this contest they were ENEMIES! Gasp!

The red headed boy tensed as Vance signaled he was about to start the count down. He tensed in preparation and took a deep breath of his own before plunging underwater. The boy kept his eyes shut as he stayed under, his cheeks puffing out as the seconds passed as he tried to hold his breath. This was intense! His chest was starting to hurt but this boy was determined to give this contest his all!

After a while though, the burn was just too much, and Fremere surfaced quickly, taking in deep gulps of sweet air.

“…N…ninety-six!” It shouldn’t even be possible that he was able to hold his breath that long, much less against a boy who was part frog. Fremere was quite a stubborn boy though.

Fremere continued to take in a few more breathes from his unbelievable feat of holding his breath that long.

When Vance bestowed the EPIC title upon Fremere, the boy couldn’t help but salute in return with a serious face. “You were a good rival, Vance!” He exclaimed with pride and paused for a moment, as in thought. “As…Master of the Universe….you…will be my…side kick!” After all, while there couldn’t be more than one king, it didn’t mean Vance couldn’t be in an awesome position either.

The boy then proceeded to chatter at his friend about other things as the two swam around the deep end.

After some time, Akuja, with Seidh in hand, appeared near the two from the deck. “Hate to break it up, boys, but it’s time to go Fremere.”

The boy looked up at his mom with a slight disappointed look. He was having a ton of fun with his friend! But alas, he was indeed getting pruney and they couldn’t stay here all day. “Aww…” He looked to Vance then. “We’ll have to hang out soon!” To this his mom gave a nod. “I don’t see a problem with that…you two seem to be getting along very well…” Which was a bit new to Akuja, this frog boy seemed to be on equal grounds with the intense red head.

“We do own the universe!” Fremere agreed happily, paddling after Vance to the ladder where he then went over to his mom, who dropped a towel on him. Fremere laughed as he took the towel and wrapped it around himself. “You too, Sidekick of the Universe! We’ll have to play soon! We’ll go to your house and then we’ll go to my house and then we’ll go everywhere!”

Akuja chuckled softly at his enthusiasm, noting with curiosity that this boy Fremere had made friends with seemed…different too. Different like him and Seidh. That was a good thing in her book. Seidh smiled softly as she waved a bit to Vance. “It was fun.”

Fremere grinned once more as he reached forward to give Vance a hug before letting him go and waving. “See ya!” He then went off with his mother and sister, talking Seidh’s ear off in the car about his time at the pool on the way home.
