no no, The ACT Zaku was actually made to test the magnetic coating for the joints ala Gundam's "upgrade" halfway thru the show when Amuro is known to be a newtype to everyone
The beam rifle for it was just a plus or add-on

Xeku the only problem with that from where I've read is the Act Zaku wasn't made until after the Titans but I've also read they were made to protect Pezun asteroid

I think Hikaru Ichijyo aka Rick Hunter is a better pilot than Max (but I haven't seen Macross in forever), same with Roy Focker, although I think that its Rick, Max, Milia, and Roy are all the elite pilots.

@ Gouf - Technically yes and no. The first rollout of Gelgoogs had beam rifles. The ACT Zaku was to test the magnetic equipment for the newtypes ala Gundam and Amuro. The ACT Zakus that actually made it thru production, were by that time, behind new tech so they moved them to protect Pezun. Not much use for it, since by that time even the Feddies' GM grunts had stronger beam spray guns then the Act Zaku, which says alot.

zeonic company made the magnetic coating for the act zaku so how was it used to test for newtypes of the feddys

The magnetic coating was applied on the Gundam even before Zeonic Company ever though of doing with the Zaku line.
As far as my knowledge serves me, it was applied to the Gundam to keep up with Amuro's newtype abilities. I don't know how Zeonic Company got it or wether, they had it before hand and somebody defected or they copied it from the Feddies somehow.
Edit: Correction on that info Gouf, I think that the Feddies took the Magnetic Coating from the ZC when they captured Pezun. Looks like you were right Lol xp

looks-wise, Gouf of CE (plus it flies)
BUT! performance wise, Gouf of UC, because Gouf Custom can be MS'd and then we would have an army of Gouf Customs

My thoughts as well plus Gouf flight type flies and the RF Gouf is able to use beams and is more powerful then most UC suits

NO way was Rick Hunter better. He just got more show time XD
I remember this one episode where they were trapped on the ginat people's space ship, and they dressed Max's fighter (or whatever they were called) in a uniform and made him pilot them around, because he was the bestest!
PLUS he has the best making a couple story ever.
