Rubbing the back of his neck, Blade wasn't really sure how what to say that might make her feel a little better. His thoughts were cut short as he glanced up at the one who approached, who turned out to be no other than Klyde. Briefly his eyes narrowed as he didn't know what was going to happen, but the vampire looked considerably less angry than the last time he had seen him.

Relaxing as he realized this, he blinked and raised a brow at what sounded something like an apology. It was... a little odd and he couldn't really tell how sincere it was. The other thing that got him was when he realized what Klyde's costume was. Was there some sort of Alice in Wonderland theme going around that he didn't know about?

"Um.. right, don't worry about it?" he said, still a little confused, "Well anyway, I should let you two enjoy the ball."

Before moving away, he looked to Riyo with a more serious expression on his face, "Just... watch out for the Queen of Hearts. I.. get the feeling she may be in character more than one would like."

One final warning; the most he could do with what he knew.

"I just hope the Hatter won't be along the lines of McGee's..." he uttered to himself lowly once he was a little further way.

Shun simply let out a huff before looking at Mitsu and nodding as she pointed out what Kill Bill was correctly. He had doubts that she had seen the movies, considering her nature, but it didn't matter all that much.

"Aye, I agree thar," nodded Bent-Tail in as the commented on Desmond's outfit, "So ye got any plans on wot t'do exactly, Mitsu?"
PostPosted: Fri Nov 26, 2010 10:23 pm

Not exactly a smooth delivery but the point was apparently taken. Klyde nodded slightly when Blade told him not to worry about it not sure what else to say on the matter. It seemed him and Riyo were still friendly despite what had happened, that was good at least....she would need all the friends she could get.

Hearing the little warning, Klyde had to keep from frowning. Did he know what was up? But how could he? It was enough to make Klyde wonder but he tried not to let it show. When Blade walked off Klyde turned his full attention on Riyo trying to push the matter out of his head. "I like your outfit." He grinned reaching up to touch her mask. "Did you make this?"

Blushing lightly as Desmond pressed a kiss to her hand, Mitsu smiled as he laced their fingers together, holding on firmly. Turning back to her friends now in higher spirits and much more comfortable about being here, she tuned more fully into their conversation. She had missed the actual name calling but apparently Poke had had a slip of the tongue again. It wasn't hard to realize the girl didn't mean anything by it but this wasn't the first time she had been corrected. "Maybe just try calling him Ben, Poke?" She offered hoping it would help. At least he didn't seem to mind going by that.

When Bent-tail asked her a question, Mitsu turned toward her rat friend. "Ah...no not really." She admitted. "I dressed up and showed up and that's all I had planned. What about you, Desmond? Do you have any plans?" Looking up at him she smiled awaiting his answer not knowing that question was a bit of a stab.

Riyo was about to say 'I don't mind if you stay here', but his warning caught her off guard. The Queen of Hearts? Riyo scanned the crowd and spotted Nami's gaudy representation of the bitchy queen, thinking to herself how well suited the hive queen was for the role. Blade was right. That smirk she had on her face meant she was up to something... But what?

"Oh, uh... Yeah. I made the mask." She turned to look at him as he spoke. Her hands reached up to snatch his hat, examining it with a smile. When she reached her hand in it, she was met with a 'thump'. Well, that was disappointing. "I've got a top hat somebody gave me awhile ago. It's an antique." She mused, replacing it on his head when she was satisfied.

"So what do you think Nami's up to tonight?"

Desmond had been focusing on Mitsu the whole time she was talking, holding back the building force that was his misery. Though, when the question was asked if he had any... Plans... His smile turned sad. "Y-yeah... I guess I do... Plans that I wish I could avoid."

"Hmm..I think I should just call him by his name...AH! Thats it" poke exclaimed when she head mitsu say his nick name. "Bent-tail! no wonder I keep forgetting..."

As she stood there listening to everyone else, her gaze rested on Desmond again. This time she noticed that...if it was possible, the guy was looking...ill, if not looking miserable over..something. It bugged her, although she wasn't quite sure why.

Now away from the two, Blade headed on towards the food counters. Most likely once he was done there, he'd head on out. While he'd like to possibly hang around Riyo a little more, it could be a little awkward, especially if she and Klyde were being lovey-dovey at all.

Shaking his head to himself, he looked over the selection of food, some which was some pricey rich-people-type things.

When Mitsu said she didn't really have plans, Shun and Bent-Tail looked towards Desmond as the question was passed to him.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" frowned Shun as he stared at the vampire. The guy certainly didn't look all too pleased so he had to wonder what he was up to.

Bringing a hand up to his head as Riyo snatched his hat, Klyde tried to straighten his messy locks. He had to wonder what purpose she had in mind reaching into his hat but it was quickly replaced on his head. "You reached in like you expected to find something," He lifted the hat to readjust it on his head so that it didn't feel quite as awkward. "An antique hat? Must be interesting. This isn't anything special, just a costume prop."

When she turned her attention toward Nami and asked what she might be up to, Klyde frowned. "Nothing good." He said simply reaching for Riyo's hand. The hour was fleeting away. "Is there anything you would like to do?"

Mitsu's smile faded slightly seeing Desmond's sad expression. There was something bothering him but he really hadn't said what. Her only clue was that it had to do with his plans for later. "What are you-" Shun had cut to the chase with his question, though in a rather rude way. "Shun..." Turning toward the boy Mitsu's expression looked upset, her voice disapproving though she didn't say anything further. She didn't like the tone he had taken with Desmond, but there wasn't much she could do to stop him.

"Oh, um..." Yeah, the hat thing. If Riyo told him she had a magical hat, he'd probably look at her like she was a ******** lunatic. Instead of acknowledging that comment, she smiled at the question. "I'd like to dance with you." She spoke softly, squeezing the hand that had taken hers.

Desmond cringed at Shun's interrogation, though he didn't think Mitsu made it any better. He really didn't want her to defend him. He didn't deserve it. "It's alright Mitsu." Looking up at Shun, his expression didn't change. "It means I have obligations. That's all." Maybe Shun would be so kind as to run off with the girl so he couldn't find her. Then only his life would be hell. It was fairly obvious the vampire was being more submissive than usual, otherwise he would've told Shun to shove it.

Sitting against he wall of the gymnasium with a half-full plate of food, Blade pulled out a slip of paper to look over as he ate. He had gone ahead and printed out the encoded message, though looking at it one paper didn't really change a whole lot. Whatever Nami had used to hide the message, it was probably rather pricey. There was no way she'd have the brains to set this up on her own.

Which was a little unfortunate since he couldn't crack the whole thing.

Hearing his name, Shun glanced at Mitsu briefly, noting the upset look on her face. Maybe he stepped out of his bounds a bit but he really didn't like how Desmond was acting here. He had expected the guy to bite back... in a non-literal sense. Turning his fierce gaze back onto the vampire, he simply stared at him for a few seconds as he was trying to figure out what he might be up to. Between his general distrust of those he doesn't consider friends and his protectiveness of those he does, he really didn't like the possibilities here.

And considering his own personal obligations usually involved harming (or killing rather) someone...

"Obligations?" he hissed, "Just know that if these 'plans' of yours brings harm to either of my friends, there will be hell to pay."

"Shun..." uttered Bent-Tail while reaching for his arm with his ears folded back. While he didn't like the ominous nature of Desmond's words and actions, he thought his friend might be a little too much on the overprotective and distrusting side right now, "I'm sure he wouldn't hurt Mitsu.."

Poke watched the exchange between Shun and Desmond, looking quite displeased, but not sure what to really do about it. As it was, Shun had pretty much summed up what she would of said, and mitsu didn't seem to like how he was acting so there was no point in her jumping in. However, she was sending Desmond a disapproving glare. She did not trust the vampire by any means; his snobbish attitude and his general fawning of Mitsu annoyed her on more then one level. And shun did have a point. For once. The way Desmond was talking made her think he was about to do something that he really, didn't want to do

Still, For a vampire, the guy was acting like a real wimp.

"Okay, I have no idea what he's on either, but for now why don't we drop the subject and enjoy this Halloween ball thingy." Poke suddenly said to the group. "I doubt Desmond is about to tell us what he has to do, so I don't see a point in hounding him about it."

Klyde smiled softly, though it was with a great deal of effort. "If its dancing you want then its dancing you'll get." With her hand held firmly in his grasp he led her toward the dance floor. The song that was currently playing was slow so with a delicate touch he wrapped his arm around her back and pulled her close, his other hand still holding hers as he began to waltz. Klyde wasn't know for dancing in circles, his parents had spent a great deal of money so that he and his brothers knew how to dance so they could socialize with the young daughters of clients at parties. He enjoyed club dancing much better, it was more out of rebellion, but he was free to move how he wanted. However, dancing with her it really didn't matter, he just wanted to be close for as long as possible.

"Shun," Mitsu's brows furrowed together as she looked at him, those large red eyes looking sad. Despite the fact that Desmond said it was okay, it really wasn't. It bothered her that Shun was taking this tone with Desmond and jumping to conclusions about what he meant. "Please don't jump to conclusions. I'm sure Desmond didn't mean anything like that." She trusted Desmond and he didn't need to explain anything if he didn't want to.

When Poke mentioned enjoying the ball Mitsu gave a nod though she wasn't particularly fond with how she was talking either. Why were her friends being this way with him? It upset her because she wanted them all to get along but it felt like they were trying to push him away.....and if they were going to push him away...they would be pushing her away as well. "I'm sorry, Desmond." Mitsu whispered softly looking up at him.

Riyo had learned the old ways of dancing as a child, and it was one thing she hadn't forgotten. Her movements closely followed his, step with step. "So how long do you want to stay here tonight?" It wasn't like there would be too many interesting things to see, after all. She figured they could do something fun on Halloween night, like walk through a graveyard. That'd be fun.

"N-no... Really, it's okay Mitsu. They've got every reason to not trust me." The vampire tried to assure her, not wanting the girl to piss off her real friends. "I... Need to use the restroom." His fingers graced her cheek lightly before he turned to walk towards the boys room, his stomach not particularly fond of this sick worry eating at his insides.

Meanwhile, Nami was watching both of their targets carefully, making sure their little bloodsuckers didn't screw up. It looked like Desmond was having more of a problem, considering how he was getting bombarded by her friends. How delicious. Sighing, she looked at her phone to check the time. "This'll be the longest hour I've ever waited out."

Frowning at the slip, Blade eventually crumpled it up and set it aside. He wasn't getting anywhere with it and he was just getting stressed over the thought. What could he possibly do anyway? Warnings had been given but something told him it just wasn't enough.

Shaking his head to himself, he finished up his food and tossed out the plate before making his way to the other side of the gym where the exit was. Along the way, his dark red eyes drifted over towards the dance floor where he spotted Alice and the Hatter dancing. He watched briefly, then continued on, trying not to let jealousy overtake him.

Before he could quite reach the door, however, someone had stepped in his way.

"Excuse me," he said while trying to get around them, not really paying attention to who it was.

Looking down towards Mitsu, Shun let out a sigh and stepped back away from Desmond, though his feelings didn't change. The vampire's response to it all definitely did not help his case at all either. Frowning still, he watched as the guy retreated to the bathroom then looked towards the wolf-girl.

"I would avoid being around him for awhile," he told her in a softer tone, "I'm sorry if you feel otherwise but I am not liking this at all."

If she wanted to continue to hang around Desmond, that was her choice. But he would still be incredibly pissed if something were to happen.

"Well, well, what have you been lookin' at Bro?" The Cajun stepped up behind Blade as a few other members of the hive came to stand in his way. The larger boy took the piece of paper Blade had crumpled up and set aside, straightening it out to have a look. Most of the message on the paper was encrypted with bits and pieces showing through. The one thing that did catch the Cajun's attention was the hive queen's address at the top. "You snooping around where your nose doesn't belong, Bro?" He smiled rather cruelly wadding the paper back up and throwing it to the ground.

"I thought we might have taught you a lesson the last time, but perhaps you need another." Blade was cornered but the hive did not advance, not just yet. It was like they were waiting for something to happen before they pounced.

Watching their targets with interested as well, Tessa watched Desmond leave the group and head for the bathroom. Maybe this would be a time for a little pep talk of sorts. "It will be quite a long hour." Pausing for a moment she contemplated what she was about to do. Thankfully the bathrooms were out of sight and the girls was right next to the boys. If anyone questioned her she was simply going to the bathroom. "I have some business to attend to, if you'll excuse me for a moment."

Making her way through the crowd Tessa wandered toward the bathroom as if she had no other objective. Once out of sight of the group of Halloween goers she came to rest against the wall awaiting for Desmond to reemerge.

"I had planned on maybe staying an hour," Klyde responded. It was all the time he would need after all. What a sickening thought. "That should be more than enough time to see what's here before doing something else." Liking crushing her world.

As the song changed up to something a little faster so did Klyde's movements. The waltz shifted into something like the samba but with a little bit of hip hop to keep it interesting. He was really putting his dancing skills to use tonight. "Good to know I can do more than bump and grind?" He teased adding in a little of just that where he could get away with it. Unlike the club he had teachers looking over his shoulder here. For a little while longer, he could pretend nothing bad was going to happen. The guilt pooling at his throat but for her he would ignore it.

Her frown deepened when Desmond took his leave. When he was finally out of sight she turned toward Shun and Poke. Her expression was as close to angry as it had ever been, though on her it looked rather cutesy and not very serious. "I appreciate you being concerned about me I really am. You're both good friends, but Desmond is very important to me." Her expression softened a bit as she looked at them both. She was grateful that Bent didn't seemed to share in their skepticism.

"Please....please don't push him away. I'm not asking you to be best friends with him but I trust him. He's been very kind and helpful to me and has never given me reason to doubt him. I know his past isn't the cleanest and he's done some unkind things but I care about him. Just please...give him a chance." She had given them all a chance and even seeing the things Shun could do she didn't turn away from him. Maybe that's why it frustrated her most of all that he would be so close minded about this.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 28, 2010 8:37 pm

The second Desmond slammed the door behind him was the second his lunch came up, miserable look now mingled with disgust. It wasn't the first time he'd vomited... But probably just as bad. "I can't do this..." He whispered, hand wiping the red remnants off his face. Taking a few moments to compose himself as he tried to flush his worry down the toilet, Desmond opened the door of the room only to be greeted by...

Tessa... "What the hell do you want? I'm here, aren't I?" He practically spat, looking more irritated now that his stomach was completely empty.

Riyo snickered at his mention of how he usually danced, increasing her own movements as the music sped up. "C'mon, quit it. What if somebody sees?" She asked, her slight blush hidden under her mask. Even after all they'd been though, she was still shy, especially around other people.

Hearing the Cajun's voice, Blade frowned and turned around to find that it was the Hive stopping him. Before he could stop him from taking the slip, it had been grabbed and looked over. Well he was found out now so he figured he may as well try to make the best of it.

"What the hell is Nami planning on doing to Riyo and Mitsu?" he asked, not showing signs of intimidation, "Or does she not let her little brainless peons in on that sort of thing?"

They were still in the gym and teachers were still around as far as he knew so he didn't think there was a whole lot of threat here. Though if something did break out, it probably wouldn't turn out too well since he was out numbered. Then again... he had a wooden sword at his disposal so that counted for something he supposed.

Staring at Mitsu, Shun placed his fists into his pockets and stood there in silence for a moment or two as he tried to think of how he could go about this. He was rather frustrated - he still was pretty firm with his distrust but it was pretty obvious it was upsetting the girl.

Taking in a deep breath, he looked away towards the bathroom where Desmond had retreated. When it came to a few things, he wasn't all that different from the vampire.

"Ah.. anyway... shall we get some food? I thought I saw some interestin' thin's at de food tables," offered Bent-Tail, trying to change the subject and possibly trying to ease the tension here. He'd have to speak with Shun a little later about this whole thing.

"There isn't much I would regret doing; having to hurt someone I care about is just about the only thing out there," he uttered, almost completely inaudible as he looked towards the food area the rat had mentioned.
