I'm glad I stayed to listen to that Angeni, he knew what he was talking about, even if he didn't remember my mother.
"Right we have a starting point!" Unfortunately the mare still looked gloomy. "Come on brighten up, its a beautiful day and there's nothing is better than running on a sunny day. We can start looking tomorrow, first we run." Aaron did a little leap, his cernei kicking in, and started to trot. He looked over his shoulder and smiled genuinely, "Aren't you coming?"

Acacia smirked, he was rather chipper. She didn't feel like being chipper or excited, but his demeanor was almost infectious. "I guess that makes sense." She could feel a pull at her heart for the loss of her sister, for not knowing...but she had to push that away.
Stretching out her long legs, she trotted and caught up with him.

The mare smirked but Aaron was unaffected. He was back to his usual spirited personality. "Well it should some angeni told me that and I haven't forgotten yet. There must be something important about it if I remember it."
Aaron smiled a good run should cheer her up, and he quickened his pace. "So any particular reason you're out here?" Not that he knew if her home had been close to here or not but Aaron never liked silences, peaceful or not.

"That makes sense." I guess. "Flying clears my head. It makes it easier to remember, think, or forget, depending on what I'm trying to accomplish." Aaron contemplated jumping into the sky right then and there to show her what he meant but he restrained himself, running helped some too. But he did do a little leap, no wings involved, but he did jump forward his light bones taking him farther than he expected. He landed not to far from an apple tree which he pranced over to.

Acacia laughed, it was quite fun to feel light-hearted and foal like again. How she wished she had wings, or lighter bones so that she could jump and frolick like he did. But she was distinctly earth bound. Slowing down, she stopped under the tree Aaron had come to.

Aaron could almost always be described as cheerful and what had started as a sad first geeting it was already livening back up again. Aaron looked up into the apple trees branches, beautiful apples were hanging in the trees limbs. They were so juicy that they caused the branches to droop. Acacia was standing under the shady tree as well.
Aaron stepped out from underneath the long branches. He backed up a little and gracefully leapt into the air. He flew to the top of the tree quickly, it wasn't very high up. He carefully knocked tthe two reddest apples off the tree. They daintily landed beneath him. He descended and landed back on the grass. The apples weren't even bruised. He nudged one over to Acacia and lay down underneath the branches to munch on his.
"So where should we start?" where should the adventure begin? where should we go first?

Acacia nosed at the luscious apple for a few moments before chomping into it. "Possibly, in the valley. That would be best?"

"hmm" Aaron thought carefully trying to recall if he had ever passed through the valley she spoke of. not that he recalled but perhaps if they started there it would trigger his memory, he travled so much it was hard to keep all the locations in place. "sounds like a plan"

Aaron was nervous of what they would and wouldn't find on their trip but he was more than ready to get started. He was sincerely hoping that they would not only find his family, or at least his old home, but also some sort of trace of Acacia's family. He wanted her to have hope that her sister is alive, any lead would be loved, he knew it would make her happy and he would feel bad if he didn't get to help her at all. Aaron chuckled "I thought you'd never ask."

After several days, they had reached their destination. It was a starting point for his search, and Acacia hope that maybe...at least he would have a happy ending. That possibly there was hope or clues lingering around here, and that maybe...one day...But that was another story. Her sister had been a foal, too young to live on it's own...to have really escaped the fire.
More than likely, she had been consumed by the ash...Lost to her forever. No final resting place. No place to mourn her, no way of really knowing.
She sighed, turned to Aaron. "Does this place...look familiar?"

It took a few days but they had reached their starting point for the search. Aaron was afraid that they wouldn't find any clues at all but you have to look to find. He was sincerely hoping that they would find clues to both of their family member disappearances.
Aaron looked around. "Yes, it looks..." Aaron squinted as he turned to see behind him, "fairly familiar." He felt like he'd been here before and was hoping that it had been close to when he first got losst rather than his wanderings during his colt years.

Acacia could feel a tingle of excitement ripple across her skin. So this had been a good place to start. "What do you think? Think hard, what do you remember about this place? How old were? How did you feel?" She wanted him to focus, to be able to identify the time, was it with his father or after when he was alone?

"Um yes, uh." Aaron's mind was working fast and furiously trying to recall the nomadic years of his youth and before then the time with his mother and before that with both of his parents. "Um well I think I was probably still considered a foal then, when I was first here I mean, late foal years though. After I had been...left by my mother. I remember it was awhile after I left the forest that I ended up here." Yes. That sounded right. "What about you? Does this place trigger any of your memories?"
