Drake was checking the surrounding area to the park when he saw a girl running down the street as fast as she could, he didn't see an expression of fear on her face, so he paid her little mind when she stopped a few blocks away. Looking down the opposite end of the street, about 4 blocks from where he was, he saw a car pulling away. He was wondering why it pulled away from were it was in such a hurry, when he heard a yelp coming from the girl who had just ran past him. He looked over and saw a man standing in front of her, "Pick your customers more carefully lady. Not my fight-" As soon as he turned away, he heard a scream from the girl. Looking back he saw his target, the alpha; he was apparently enjoying pleasure before his meal. Moving quickly, Drake ran as fast as he could over to the girl's aid. Not quick enough it seemed as he had already pinned her to the ground and taken a chunk out of her.

Pulling out his pistols, he yelled, "Hey Fido! I don't think that's your chew toy!" The alpha looked up at Drake and growled a response, his voice oddly distorted and deepened unnaturally,
"Hunter? What the ******** are you doing here? Did the king send you after me and my kin?" Drake smiled, looked at the alpha with a puzzled expression on his face and said, "What? No, I just live here... Of COURSE THE KING SENT ME! You turned your back on him and went on a killing spree with your pack! Pretty goddamn worthy of death if you ask me!" Drake was sure to be as loud as he could without sounding unnaturally loud. He had to alert the others to the alpha's presence and his position. The alpha cocked his head and laughed a deep growling chuckle, "What's it to you vampire? This human is just food for the likes of you and us! Come on, I'll give you a chance, this b***h is mighty tasty. And besides, even if you do shoot me, I'll have ripped the girl in half by the time you do!" Drake smiled as he thought of a plan.

Licking his lips he put away his pistols and slowly approached the alpha, who was now holding the frightened girl up by her neck. Smiling as he walked and elongating his fangs, he stopped right in front of them and said, licking his lips again, "Well... I have been so hungry lately. And the blood packs the organization gives us just doesn't do the trick... I think... mmmm... I may have to take you up on your offer... Her blood does smell quite delicious, and she does look... rather delectable." The alpha smiled a wolfish toothy grin and handed the girl to Drake. He leaned in slowly, his jaws extending out, his fangs ready and poised to bite her. He could hear her heart beating faster and faster, he smelled the delicious aroma of blood dripping from her wound, he felt her trembling, he took his time savoring the scent of her fear, he licked some of the blood that had dripped down from the wound she had. The wolf was right, she really did taste amazing, but he couldn't forget himself now. He shot a smile at Lutessa, and with a quick motion he harshly threw her aside and attacked the werewolf in hand to hand combat.

He Punched the wolf square in the chest, sending him back about 20 feet. The wolf growled and charged, tackling Drake and trying to rip him apart. Kicking the werewolf off of him with his feet, Drake quickly jumped back up, and grabbed the wolf's right arm. He flipped the wolf to the ground and stomped on the back of his ankle as hard as he could. The alpha roared in agony as he felt his ankle bone shatter beneath the boot of the hunter. Rolling away, the werewolf clawed at Drake's face, but missed; instead, Drake grabbed the alpha's arm and pulled, as hard as he possibly could. The alpha made a fatal mistake, he misjudged the strength of Drakes grip and pulled in the opposite direction. With the combined force of the two, pulling in opposite directions, the werewolf had his arm torn off. Tossing the arm aside, Drake smiled and said, "I gotta hand it to you, you aren't the pack leader for nothing." The alpha howled in pain as he scrambled for the nearby forest. Drake was about to follow him when 10 growling, bloody, werewolves jumped down in front of him, all looking very angry. "Hi boys. I'm out of dog treats at the moment, unless you guys like silver. Drake quickly pulled out his pistols and fired at the group. Anyone within a ten block radius would know where he was now. He just hoped the rest of the pack didn't ambush him, he didn't have that kind of ammo.

Sera leaped off of the platform gracefully glad to finally to have arrived. Sera was not keen on using transportation, she enjoyed traveling on foot. However in this case it was not plausible to do so, so she just had to bear with it.

The wind blew some leaves in her direction and she quickly brushed them off of her attire. She wore a close-fitting v-shaped black tank top that accentuated her thin, yet curvy frame which was well paired with a pair of khaki short-shorts that elongated the appearance of her already lengthy legs. A bright crimson red garb adorned the front of her tank, falling just below the shoulders and wrapping around her waist before trailing behind her legs just above the ankles. It was embellished with intricate golden patterns and designs, enhancing the rich colors and contrasting against one another. She was heavily accessorized with belts and buckles with tiny vials hanging from her waist. Despite their fragile appearance, they were capable of making a big bang. Finally, she wore pair of fitting black boots that was both fashionable and served a comfortable means of getting around quickly which was good for exploring dense forests and being in combat.

Taking the earpiece from Drake, she frowned at his comment. "Weakest? Just because I'm not equipped with pointed teeth does not mean that I can't deal a fair amount of damage otherwise." she commented. It was true. She prepared well for her trip, packing along her own chemical mixtures that she developed to specifically fight against werewolves. As Lylanna and Drake took their own direction, she headed due north through the more denser part of the woods hoping to gather some plant samples for some new fragrances. She was focused on her mission but it didn't mean that she couldn't explore a little bit at the same time. It was like killing two birds with one stone.

Sera took in a deep breath of the fresh crisp air; she loved the smells of the forest. Already she had new inspiration for some new fragrances that she was excited to whip up once they finish the mission. Mingo perked up, jumping to the ground with his nose in the air. He seemed to enjoy the forest air just as much as she did. However she did pick up a faint smell that indicated a recent presence of werewolves. She scrunched her nose slightly; it was not a pleasant smell.

Lylanna waited at the outskirts of the playground scanning the woods for any sign of Weres, their stench was almost unbearable to her nose, preferring the sweet smell of Vampire she wanted to continue into the woods but knew this to be a pointless idea.

The scent of fresh human blood reached her nose as she paced and she instantly took off reaching the area just as the vampire took the wounded girl into his hands, "What the hell?" she hissed angrily as her eyes turned silver. "That b*****d! she was so pissed with the fact that he would try and bleed an innocent victim. Without thinking she bolted towards the scene, gun extended into blade position to strike at both the Vampire and Were "If this is how it is gonna be, it is best that you die." she Cleaved the blade at both of their necks when suddenly the Vampire tossed the girl in her direction, Surprised she caught the young woman before she hit the ground. holding her tight to her chest she glanced at the Vampire and Were to see them locked in combat.

Assessing the young woman's injuries she cursed as she realized they had little time to reverse the change. clutching the young woman to her chest she was about to take her away from the fighting creatures when several of the Alpha's pack surrounded them. In the grass still on her knees she raised her blade to point at the nearest wolf and it growled at her as another from behind lunged at them. with out an instant to spare she brought the blade about her in a flash and the wolf that had lunged jumped back howling, it's muzzle smoking as it retreated rubbing its face in the wet grass as it fled.

Leaving the girl on the ground below her, she brought her blade in front of her again eying the Wolf that seemed to be controlling the pack, it might not have been an alpha, but it was definitely one of the higher rankings.

"We just want the human." A deep growl came from his throat as he watched her blade warily, it was evident that it had been traced with silver at the edge to be very lethal to any creature. Lylanna just stood where she was and didn't move. "You won't get her," she said glaring.

A snarl came from the beast and three Lunged, her blade swung in an arch taking out two to her right as she side stepped to dodge the third and interceded a well placed knee bash in the lupines throat crushing his windpipe. she then tossed the beast aside as another pair of the Pack launched themselves at her. she kept the two at bay with her blade as they warily kept a safe distance from it watching for openings.

Lylanna did not want to leave the young woman unattended so she couldn't strike at the Weres before her. Keeping her blade up she reached down to pick her up. seeing this the Beta lunged at her with a snarl and she brought up the blade to strike as another lunged in from the side grabbing her arm in it's mouth a snap could be heard. and the gun blade fell limply from her hand. Cursing she dropped the girl, tossed the beta over her shoulder and shoved a finger into the eye of the Were holding her arm.

Once released she grabbed for the blade with her left hand and with a quick flick it changed into a gun. bringing it up she let off three rounds, a yelp was heard, but that was only one of the group of four wolves that were still trying to take the girl from her. she cursed as she crouched over the girl gun in her left hand as her senses traced every movement the wolves made about her.

Tess laid on the ground helplessly pinned by the wolf's massive form. He was bigger than any man could hope be and at this point her chances of escape were basically zero. Tears streamed from her eyes as she waited for what the wolf was going to do next. Then she heard the voice of a stranger pierce the night air. "Hey Fido! I don't think that's your chew toy!", if she wasn't so terrified that would have been hilarious to her however she was in a rather poor emotional state at the moment. "Hunter? What the ******** are you doing here? Did the king send you after me and my kin?" the wolf said to the man. Hunter? Oh thank God I'm saved she thought with relief as she struggled to look upon the man who was not her knight in shinning armor but perhaps her dark knight.

"What? No, I just live here... Of COURSE THE KING SENT ME!" Yes he was indeed her dark knight fighting for a king so that he may save the damsel in distress. She laughed at her self for being so stupid; the thought was ridiculous and yet she prayed for it to be true. " You turned your back on him and went on a killing spree with your pack! Pretty goddamn worthy of death if you ask me!" The man's voice boomed in response to the wolf's deep growling voice. Here was man strong enough to challenge a beast. A real man, not like those stupid boys at school who couldn't even take on Tess in a group.

Vampire? she thought as the perspective on her dark knight suddenly shifted. Oh God, please no, those two just view me as piece of meat! she squirmed in attempt to get free but it was no use. No it can't be! Please God I'm begging you to make them stop! That monster is going to suck me dry and then wolf is going do what ever sick things it wants to do with my body. She felt the dread in her mind growing, knowing that they were correct. She was just a helpless stupid little girl compared to their bestial strength. Never before had she felt so weak and helpless. She felt disgusted with her self for being so pathetic. "... Come on... This b***h is mighty tasty." The word echoed in her mind, that's all she really was to anybody in the world it seemed. Just a female dog, lower than a person, only good as long as she could be used. Anger welled up inside her along with her fear, shame, and disgust. Her arm twitched as she tried desperately to break free. She wanted to hit the wolf so badly.

Tess watched in horror as the vampire put away his guns and started walking over to them. She felt the large hand of the Alpha pick her up by the throat. His hand felt tight and made it difficult to breath. She stared with fear in her eyes into his hungry looking ones of the vampire. "Well... I have been so hungry lately. And the blood packs the organization gives us just doesn't do the trick... I think... mmmm... I may have to take you up on your offer... Her blood does smell quite delicious, and she does look... rather delectable." the vampire said. If Tess hadn't already wet herself she would have done it again now. Why won't they just kill me? she thought as the wolf handed her over to the vampire. She watched in horror as the vampire protruded his fangs and moved in closer. He was so close to her that she couldn't bear to watch any longer. Tess shut her eyes tightly and waited for the searing pain of his bite. Her heart felt like it was going to burst and with the amount of times she felt it beat an eternity seemed to pass in her mind. She felt his tongue slide across her upper chest through the blood the was sliding down into her shirt. This monster is going to make me his, I can't believe that this would ever happen, even if I survive this I don't think I could bear that thought.

When his tongue disappeared from her skin Tess felt herself tossed aside and then felt her face pressed against something soft. With her eyes still closed Tess wondered if she dead. With her body pressed up against something that seemed to hold onto her tightly not wanting to let her go. At this point she was starting to go into shock. Her mind just couldn't take it any more. With blood still trickling from her wound Tess laid on the ground. Her skirt was frayed and ripping from contact with the wolf's claws, her shirt soaked red around the shoulder and chest, as well as slightly tinted red around various claw marks from where the beast was too rough.

After killing 2 of the wolves, Drake saw a few of them back off. Smiling to himself, he thought, "These idiots can't tell how many bullets I have left. Not too many, it's probably better to switch tactics." Backing up slowly, watching the hungry eyes of the werewolves as they followed his movements, waiting for the right moment to strike. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a few more pack members attacking Lylanna and the girl he had saved. He heard a snap coming from Lylanna as one werewolf nearly bit her arm in half. He tried to think, there were 3 wolves trying to attack them, and 8 attacking him. This is one helluva mess. I'm so going to regret this in the morning.

Drake closed his eyes and breathed deeply, time seemed to slow to a crawl, and he could feel the werewolves in front of him taking action. He sighed and thought, "Dracula family arts, art number 5, restrictions released." With that, Drakes Eyes snapped open, he put his pistols away and charged the werewolves that were now attacking him. He smiled as he easily dodged their attacks. Moving behind one of the wolves but not close enough to hit him, he made a punching motion with his arm, and what seemed to be shadows erupted from his arm and engulfed the wolf. The others stared in horror as the shadows receded to reveal nothing more than a skeleton. Moving even quicker, Drake attacked two more werewolves with the same attack, again leaving nothing but bleached bones. The wolves realized what they were up against and slowly backed away, with expressions of pure terror visible on their beastly faces.

Slowing himself so he could have a little fun, Drake moved towards them at the pace they backed away. He laughed loudly, crazily, and tauntingly, shadows now pouring from his body as though they had dwelt within him, and he was now bleeding darkness. Smiling, all of his teeth now resembling fangs, he said, in an oddly happy, crazed voice, "Dogs! Man's best friend! A vampire's worst enemy! You and your kind dwell in shadows, only revealing your true nature when you need to take advantage of the weaker humans! Don't you ever get tired of living inside that skin?" He made a swift motion with his arm and two of the wolves attacking Lylanna were engulfed by the darkness. Tilting his head to one side, with his eyes wide and a huge grin on his face, Drake really did seem to be completely insane. He continued his speech as he stalked towards the remaining werewolves, "It is so very difficult to contain your true nature is it not? Half the time if you're walking around among humans, you just want to rip them apart and drink the spill. Oh how I LONG for a good meal... you dogs should be fine." Shadows literally erupted from Drakes body, swallowing the scrambling wolves as they tried to flee in terror. Leaving literally nothing left but a pile of whitened, cleaned bones. Turning to Lylanna, with the same crazed look in his eye, he said, "I'm going after the rest of the pack. Take care of the girl." With that, he turned and jumped into the forest after the alpha and the rest of his pack of mongrels.

As he moved throughout the forest, following the scent of the blood, Drake sensed just how many members the pack were left. Stalking his prey through the trees, the darkness of the forest gave him even more power, it was however, short lived. He walked into the well lit camp that the werewolves had set up, the bright lights stinging his eyes. The shadows still seeping from Drake's body, they slowly engulfed the camp as he walked further and further in. The alpha was yelling orders at his pack, and stopped when he noticed Drake. The alpha slowly backed away, saying,
"What... What ARE you?! Why are you working with the humans!? You could control them all!" Drake simply cocked his head to the side and laughed, after calming down a small bit, Drake replied, "I am Vladimir Von Drake. Heir to the Dracula line. I'm not going to give you and your pack of diseased stray mongrels anything more than that." With a loud clap of his hands, shadows descended on the camp, devouring most of the pack. The alpha scrambled away with the few remaining pack members, and Drake screamed, "That's right you filthy dogs! RUN! Run away like the cowardly bitches that you are! You and your kin are now an endangered species! May your dead brothers rot within the deepest darkest pits of HELL!"

After a few moments Drake balled a fist and punched the ground, going down onto one knee in the process, the shadows he had released flowed quickly back into him. Standing, Drake stumbled back out of the forest, heading back to where Lylanna and the girl were. He clutched his head, thinking, "I went a little overboard that time... I shouldn't have let it go for so long. At least I eliminated most of the pack. The alpha got away though..." He stumbled back onto the street finally, seeing Lylanna and the girl nearby, he stopped, looked around and just collapsed to the ground; his body had reached its limit at that point.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 23, 2010 9:17 pm

Lylanna Leaned over the girl as the Were's closed in, seeing that their chances of taking the girl had increased slightly they closed in. Not paying attention to the vampire since she had problems of her own she was startled as a dark form covered a pair.

The beta was just as surprised when his followers faded. his instincts kicked in as he saw the vampire's face. and without a thought the wolf bolted and Lylanna had little time to react.

Not that she was going to react, the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end as she watched the vampire. This being was an entirely different entity than what she had meet before. keeping the gun on hand she crouched in the grass over the bleeding woman not sure what the vampire was going to do,
"I'm going after the rest of the pack" A shiver went down her spine as she heard his voice and he ran off.

Turning her atteniont to the young woman after a silent moment of reflection she left her gun in the grass as she moved her left hand to check the unconcious womans pulse. Her skin was cold and lips were turning blue and she appeared to be going into Hypovolemic Shock. Worrying she looked at the shoulder wound, "God humans are so fragile!" she thought taking a her shirt in her mouth and tearing off a piece she used it to try and stop the bleeding, she made a make shift bandage of what she had wondering if the Chemist might have brought a first aid kit with her. If not it would be a good idea to take one along next time. managing to wrap her wound the best she could with her left hand she looked up as the Vampire stumbled from the woods.

He had reverted back to his "normal" appearance, if she could call it that, and collapsed not far from them. Cursing under her breath she was faintly relieved to notice he did not smell of his own blood. Even though he had given her some earlier that evening she was still hungry.

Carefully leaving the Young woman in a hopefully stable condition she cautiously moved to the Vampires side to see if he was okay, "it wouldn't be good for a first mission back if a partner was taken out." she mumbled to herself wondering why he wasn't sent to do this mission on his own, if this vampire was so powerful why would he be put into a team.

Sitting there for a moment she watched him sleep, he had put restrictions on these arts if she recalled what he said correctly, and this puzzled her. "what the hell are you?" she thought to herself cradling her injured arm in her lap. 'Hey, we have to get out of here and get her some human medical help" she said to him not sure if he would hear her or not.

As Drake laid on the ground, he was vaguely aware of his surroundings. He was lying face down on the ground, so he couldn't get a very good picture. Closing his eyes he decided he would need a short rest. He drifted in blackness, until he heard a voice; his fathers. "Vladimir... you know you are of the Dracula lineage... You know that our powers can be corrupting on our sanity... My father lost his long before he rose again as an immortal undead. But nonetheless, you can't use your powers so often. You haven't heard yourself while you use these powers..." Drake saw a few images of what had happened when he used the family art. His already pale face went even whiter when he saw what he became while using the arts. He then heard his own crazed voice in his head, "It is so very difficult to contain your true nature is it not? Half the time if you're walking around among humans, you just want to rip them apart and drink the spill. Oh how I LONG for a good meal..." Drake didn't like the way he sounded, the dark side of him, the vampiric instincts wasn't what he wanted to be. His father continued, "You are a Dracula! You are one of the most powerful vampires in the world! You should be able to attain victory over your foes WITHOUT sacrificing your sanity! But first you need to wake up... Your partners are waiting... WAKE UP VLAD!"

He was ripped from his slumber when he heard Lylanna mumbling something about a mission. "Wait... that's right... now's not a time to sleep... Wait a minute what's..." The psychic link from his father had simply forced its way into Drake's mind, leaving his "Mind's door" open. Before it closed, Drake caught a thought that came from Lylanna. Which quickly turned into her actual voice, she was apparently right next to him,
"What the hell are you? Hey, we have to get out of here and get her some human medical help" Drake's eyes snapped open and he quickly got up to his knees. Looking around frantically, he surveyed the area as best he could, then turned to Lylanna and said, "I'm an original vampire of the Dracula line. As such I get certain powers, that could potentially corrupt my sanity. I read your mind involuntarily, I'm sorry. But anyways, we should get her to the organization, she'll be safe and helped there." Looking over at the human girl, who was still in shock, he could understand why, he just hoped she didn't hold the 'plan' he came up with against him.

A familiar scent hit his nose and he looked around, "Blood... what kind? It smells... so delicious... so intoxicating..." Drake smelled the enticing scent of the blood. He would have loved to simply forget about everything and drink from that source. Have the blood gush over him like a fountain of the most excruciatingly delicious meal he had ever had. He wanted to drown himself in it, nothing could quench his thirst for this overwhelmingly provocative aroma. He could think of nothing more than draining every last drop of it and and savoring every single bit of it. His fangs extended inside his closed mouth, eager to drain this body that was so breathtakingly close he could feel it. "Wait... no... mustn't give in... remember the siren's blood curse. Krusnik blood... Lylanna!" Looking at Lylanna with widened eyes, he looked her up and down, trying to see where she was injured. His eyes fell on her arm, which she cradled in her lap. The werewolves had attacked her, and it looked like one had nearly broken her arm in half. She was bleeding fairly badly, and it didn't look like she was able to move her hand. Looking up at her with worry in his eyes, he brought up his own wrist and bit into it deeply, dragging his fangs down slightly to open the wound even further. He released his jaws' grasp on his arm and brought is head back up level with hers and said, "You're injured... here... It'll heal you faster. We need everyone at 100% in case anything else happens." Holding up his wrist he smiled at the Krusnik woman, his instincts told him to attack, to fight this natural enemy, but he resisted. He didn't know why he cared so much, if it were any other Krusnik, he probably wouldn't have gone that far, but she seemed... special somehow.

Lylanna jumped slightly when he responded. Standing she took a step back as he started to talk then she glared. "My thoughts are my own!" She hissed, taking another step back. His apology sent her for a loop though as she watched him, he was so nice, kind even.

For moment she wondered if there had been other Vampires like him out in the world, so in control of their blood lust they almost seemed human. Just as she thought this though she could feel his blood lust more than see it. cursing inwardly she looked to her arm that was steadily leaking, she had forgotten about her blood's attraction for Vampires. Carefully she stepped back a bit remembering what had happened her last mission as well as what he had done earlier. Watching his hands for movement she noticed his fangs extend and she reached for her gun at her hip with her left hand.

The tension released suddenly as his eyes widened and he blinked; she watched him look to her arm,
"You're injured..." She stared at him surprised once more as she watched him bring his wrist to his mouth and bite into it. She stiffened as the sweet aroma filled her nostrils, but could not do anything as her body involuntarily reached for his wrist and she drank deeply. Pulling back quickly when she had a mouth full she glared at the vampire, but let the liquid flow over her tongue fully enjoying his flavor, it was richer and sweeter than any other she had tasted, not being able to control herself she licked his wrist even as the puncture wounds began to close.

It irritated her how little she could control her instincts to feed, she had been doing this for years, feeding off her jobs. But in the face of one who had so much control over his own blood lust that was needed to survive; she began to feel inferior since she couldn't even control her own, which was not needed to survive.

Glaring at him again with her eyes, pure silver in color, she looked to her arm which was rapidly healing and it wasn't all that long before she could feel her fingers again.

Sera had been crouching down, gathering a few plant samples when she got a distress call on her earpiece. She was about to respond when suddenly felt the earth slightly shaking below her. A slight gust of wind blew her way, the faint scent from before was starting to smell more prominent which quickly alerted her to the oncoming trouble. Narrowing her eyes as she squinted, she could see blurred figures in the distance coming straight at her. Mingo made an alarming squeak which confirmed her sense of danger. Something was coming. Or more than just something. From the sounds of it she could tell it was a herd or a pack of animals most likely werewolves due to the fact they were supposed to roam in this area. Sera quickly dove into the bushes and out of sight just as a roar of agony and pain broke into the air; a large alpha male charging past her. Specks of blood fell everywhere, trailing behind him and his pack of howling wolves followed in a similar surrendering fashion.

Sera's eyes widened. What ever happened to him? From the looks of it, he was in one nasty battle....I wonder if Drake and Lylanna- Her thoughts were interrupted by a loud sound of snuffing and a menacing growl. "Wait! I sense a human close-by." Sera's heart thumped; she specifically didn't lather herself with strong smelling perfumes today; she made sure of that. Oh snaps, I forgot to spray myself with the de-humanizing-odor! She thought about the mixture that she had prepped up an hour before the mission and how it was just sitting there on her front desk in the labs. The thought was beating her up inside. She could feel Mingo trembling in her lap.

"What?" Another growl rippled through the trees, "Can't you see we're run-mmmmmmm that smells good...." Sera saw another werewolf spin around.

"I told you, someone is here" the original Were growled, sniffing the air profusely. The whole pack was now lifting their snouts up to try and pick up the scent, even the alpha seemed remotely interested, but he quickly resented the search.

Sera let a sigh of relief at those words, but right when she thought she was safe, a small black figure swooped down into the bushes. Sera nearly jumped in surprise but she quickly realized it was the bat that Drake carried around earlier. It fluttered down and clung to her, flapping aimlessly as if it were trying to tell her something. Mingo, however, was not pleased. Forgetting the fact that he was deathly scared, he launched up on Vincent with a loud flurry of twittering and angry chatters and the two creatures hit the floor with angry squeaks, clawing and biting at one another. “Mingo!” Sera snapped and quickly stifled her shout with her hand but it was too late.

The werewolves quickly surrounded her with their teeth baring threateningly. Sera was already on her feet, however, and in a split second, the sound of glass shattering rang in the air, followed quickly by a thick purple smoke that surrounded the dense trees. Immediately screams of pain filled the air and all of the werewolves quickly shut their eyes in pain. “What is that? Make it stop!” another Were cried out. Sera quickly jumped away as a wolf blindly tore at her, slashing at him with her knife. He let out a loud whimpering sound which filled the air.

“Leave the girl!” The alpha demanded with a growl, “I had enough humiliation for today! And that is an ORDER!!" With that, all of the Weres fled, this time all in agreement.

Sera looked down at Mingo and the bat who were no longer fighting due to the turn of events. Mingo made one hiss at the bat before climbing up Sera’s boots and back onto her shoulder. With a sigh, Sera picked the small creature up and inspected it for wounds; seeing none, she decided it was time to head back and see how Lylanna and Drake had fared against the werewolves. It seemed like they did quite amount of damage from what she could tell.

When she arrived; she saw her two partners with spews of blood littered the ground. They both seemed totally exhausted, and by the looks of it, they looked fairly beaten. "Wow, I just took on a pack of wolves and I'm right as rain. And exactly who is the weaker one?" She raised a brow at them. She knew they had faced the wolves earlier and caused them to surrender, but she too technically did do the same thing. Might as well make a joke at Drake's crude comment from earlier anyways.

Drake smiled at the glaring Krusnik in front of him, he liked the silver glow in her eyes, even if she was slightly angry at him. He stood up, brushed himself off and stretched, when Sera walked out from the forest and made a comment. He laughed at her joke, clearly seeing it was just that, but as he laughed, memories of what had happened to him across the years, slowly sapped the humor in his voice away. Using the arts had rendered his mental state unstable, and very erratic, he was liable to snap at any moment. Feeling a building anger in his system, he turned to her, and glared a deadly gaze, and hissed his words at her, while stepping towards her and stopping 3 feet away from her, "Listen here, human... If I wasn't here, this entire mission would have been a disaster. While you were off frolicking in the woods, me AND Lylanna were almost killed. If I hadn't used my powers, which have a great cost to ME I might add, you would have found yourself face to face with over 50 were-kind. Now, I respect your kind, and what they do, to try to keep the peace between the four of our kind... but you would do well to remember; I choose to side with the hunters and kill my fellow vampires. I know of many people who would rather see that reversed, with your kind being hunted and killed, staked and burnt, tracked down like filthy animals and killed. I have lived 10 lifetimes, watching friend after friend, family member after family member, being tortured, maimed, killed and persecuted by your kind! My own MOTHER was murdered in cold blood by you pathetic excuses of the dominant species on the planet; for nothing more than the fact that she was a vampire! She adored humans, and their idyllic lives, she did not drain anyone who wasn't willing!" with that, he turned and simply vanished into thin air.

Drake then immediately reappeared next to Lutessa. Looking down at her, he knelt down next to her, speaking loud enough for the others to hear, yet gently and kindly, "An innocent victim. A bleeding, dying human, but why should I care?" He ran his hand up through the bleeding girl's hair and continued, "This once, beautiful, delicious, little girl; but a scant 18 years old... simply a baby compared to many of my kind... her blood polluted and rotting by that filthy werewolf." Standing an looking over at the two other women, he said, with a harsh tone in his voice again, "Why should I care when a stupid little human is attacked? It's not as though their lives were going to last much longer! But here I am, risking my un-life and my sanity! Just so you prejudiced shits can live a few years longer!" Drake, now quite angry, used his telepathic powers to communicate with the human woman, not caring about that he literally ripped the door open to her mind, "Take heed girl, you know not who you taunt, nor the devastation that would befall you and your race should I ever turn out like my grandfather." Slamming the door shut on her mind, he went back to speaking, "Being around you disgusting creatures makes me sick. It makes me angry that me and my race must live by the blood flowing through your veins. My heart may be dead and my hunger insatiable, but my soul is not nearly as black as the darkness lingering in human hearts... VINCENT! COME!" Shouting for his faithful pet, Drake held out his arm, upon which the bat landed. He then glared at the human woman with an expression of pure disgust, and turned his back. he said, in a normal voice, "Get the girl to the organization, her turning will begin soon. I'll see you two in the morning." With that, Drake vanished, along with Vincent.

Reappearing in between the two women and Lutessa, Drake fell to one knee, clutching his head. He looked around, with an expression of horror on his face. He started talking, seemingly to himself, in a frantic voice, "No... No I can't be here! I can't be here! I have to get away! Can't be near anyone. Not now... too much risk for me and them. I may do something I regret. What's that smell? NO! No, I can't feed, not now, not when there's so much at stake." Looking over at Lutessa, then back to Sera and Lylanna he noticed the the two as though he hadn't seen them at first, "Oh god no... Did I do something?! Did I do something terrible?! Was it me!? Did I do that!?" Drake pointed to Lutessa, with a scared, yet slightly crazed look in his eyes, asking the women what he had done, not remembering what had transpired. Looking frantically around, he tried to find some way of getting away from the people nearby, so he would only be a danger to himself and not to them. He then looked back at the two women, the fear in his eyes still there, but now no longer unsubstantiated, he was truly afraid of what he might do if he remained there. Staring into their faces, he simply said, "Don't follow me, for the love of God don't follow me." He then took off down the street, running past Lutessa, heading for the forest.

Drake couldn't be near any humans now, he was likely to start killing senselessly and endlessly then feeding off of them. He continued to run through the forest, dodging trees and putting as much distance between himself and the town as he could. Collapsing on the ground somewhere in the center of the forest, Drake simply passed out.

Waking up a few hours later, he stood, brushed himself off again, and looked around; he was in the center of the forest, with nothing and no one around, his instincts didn't kick in and tell him to kill anything that had blood in its veins. Looking around, he didn't see Vincent anywhere, but he was quickly relieved when he dropped down from one of the trees and landed on his shoulder. Smiling, Drake vanished yet again. Appearing on the roof of his apartment building, Drake smelled the air, as Vincent flapped off of his shoulder, he circled Drake chittering and squeaking. Drake breathed deeply and said, "I know Vincent. I shouldn't use my powers, father told me. I need to learn how to control myself better. But for now... I'm going to bed, that art took a lot out of me. Come on, let's go inside." Vincent squeaked and followed Drake inside the building, landing on his shoulder as he walked down the hall. Heading inside his apartment, he put Vincent in his cage, laid on his couch and fell asleep.

=====The Next Morning=====

Quickly walking up the steps to the hunter's organization, holding a blood bag by the tube in his mouth, Drake simply walked through the checkpoints, not bothering with the ID checks and such. No one tried to stop him, they had obviously heard about his "incident" the previous night. Drake didn't care, he had gotten a call from Daniel Scales earlier in the morning, asking him to report to the committee's office for a meeting. "Two meetings in two days, consecutively, this must be important. Wonder if that chemist or Lylanna told them what I said... wouldn't surprise me if she did." Pushing the doors open with little effort, Drake walked over to the committee, saluted and sat down. Blood pack still hanging from is mouth, he said, sardonically "What is it Daniel? I have a rather busy schedule today. Can't a fellow enjoy immortality?" Daniel coughed and glared at the vampire; he couldn't say he was insolent, simply rude. Opening the file on the desk, he said, "About the incident yesterday... you used art number 5 in order to save your team, yet the alpha got away. I'm not going to ask why you let him go, nor will I ask what exactly happened after you returned to normal; I don't wish to know Drake. I called you here for a different reason. The girl your team brought in, she's turning, as I'm sure you guessed. The Hunter's Organization will take care of her, we intend to make her a hunter. But a freshly turned werewolf can be volatile. We're going to ask you and your team to look after her at least until she can deal with events herself. Now go, you'll be back in here again later, with your teammates to discuss this."

Drake stood and strolled out of the room and headed for the med-bay. He figured that's where his team would be, hanging about near that werewolf. Walking through the weapons checkpoint, one of the guards started to speak, but Drake just said, "Just try it. There'll be nothing left of you." The guard quickly shut his mouth and left Drake alone. Walking down the halls into the special case ward, he found his teammates standing outside the girl's room. Walking over to them, he put his arms on their shoulders and said, "Ladies, morning. I hope you can forgive my terrible behavior last night. Using the family arts often leaves me... unstable as far as emotions go. Anyways, how's the girl? Oh and by the way, we have a meeting with the committee in a little bit to discuss the matters of said werewolf girl." Drake smiled at the two, fully aware that they would probably be angry at him, but he didn't exactly care too much, he just wanted to put the incident behind him.

Lylanna stared at the spot where the vampire had vanished. her hands were clenched at her sides as she reflected over what he had said. it was evident that he had not been talking to her when he had apparantly snapped, But his speech had still affected her all the same. her faced mimicked the pain of loosing family and friends as she closed her eyes and tried to forget their faces. heaving a sigh she looked to the Chemist and then to the injured girl.

"we have to get back as soon as possible," she said appearing next to the injured human and crouching to pick her up. carefull of her head and neck, Lylanna carried the woman in both arms. To her the human was as light as a new born infant, and just as fragile. slowly she stood strait eyes now a clam blue as she headed down the street back to the train station they had used. she could smell the effects of the Werewolf venom taking over her shocked body, and she cursed the days events.

She had tried and just like every time before she had failed to prevent a change again. Carrying the human back to the train they had found a jacket to hide her injuries. it was to late for her to go to a human hospital, they wouldn't beable to treat her injuries in time, Lylanna decided to carry her back to the organization where there was a fleeting chance they might be able to reverse the change before it took full form.

She was silent on the train, the woman lying in her lap she watched the scenery pass by as she thought about the vampires face after he had snapped, he had been frightened and near the breaking point and fleed. irritated with her self for not acting she chewed on her fangs, she had done nothing while he had been so close to rampaging, that was probably why she had been grouped with them to keep him under control, but she had failed even in that simple task.

"Never trust a vampire" an old old voice told her, a human companion she had learned from when she had been about 50, she shook her head to push his memory away. but she had done exactly that, she had trusted the vampire, let down her guard because he had been so polite, almost nice, and it could have cost the two humans their lives.

At the medical bay she handed over the young woman to a specialist and explained what had happened. the specialist frowned when she told him the amount of time that had passed since she had been bitten, but he had assured her he would do every thing he could. Nodding she turned and headed to the committee room to report, figuring the Vampire had not been up to doing so.

Entering the council room she gave her report, starting with the park and ending with their depature not skipping any details. "we came back because of the young woman and i am afraid to announce that the Alpha and some of his pack members got away" she said reciting the incident out of habit, the men nodded frowns on their faces as they looked to each other. She wanted to ask questions, wanted to demand why they had put her in this group to begin with, but kept her composure. these humans may have lived short lives in comparison, but in those small lives they were able to accomplish a lot.

After a time and several questions Lylanna left the committee and headed back to the medical lab. she stayed out side of the young humans door hoping she would come out still unchanged, but something told her it wouldn't be so. she did not realize how late she stayed until a hand touched her shoulder.

Looking up she saw the Vampire and gave him a long measured look before standing. she wanted to judge him on his instincts, wanted to hit him across the face for leaving them last night, but the image of his wrist bleeding before her stopped her from judging him. "just dont let it happen again, im going home" she said not looking him in the eyes as she turned to walk away. there was so much she needed to think about.

Drake turned and watched as the Krusnik woman turned and left. Smiling as he watched her walked away, his eyes studied her movements, watching her shapely hips as she strolled away from him. He suddenly remembered what she said, and replied, loud enough for her to hear him, "Hurry back! The committee wants all of us at that meeting!" Turning to look through the glass where the girl was strapped down, he simply stared for a few minutes, lost in thought. He remembered what had happened the night before; he thought about how he saved the girl from the alpha; how he got close enough to taste her, the sweet scent of her blood, dripping from her open wound. He came oh so close to simply draining her completely, leaving her body there, and simply disappearing into the night. He pushed those thoughts out of his mind, but one still lingered in his mind; he thought of the small drop of blood he had tasted, and how it was the last bit of that delicious blood he or anyone for that matter, would ever taste from the girl. She was a werewolf now, Drake thought, regrettably so, her delicious, excruciatingly enticing blood was now a polluted mess. Werewolf blood was disgusting to a vampire; they could drink it, live off of it, but compared to human blood, or even vampire blood, its taste was the equivalent of eating dirt.

He sighed, broke his gaze with the room and turned away; he couldn't think about that any longer. Sitting down, he closed his eyes for a few moments, still trying to clear his head. His instincts were slowly consuming him, he was losing control of himself. If he used his powers continuously, it wouldn't be long before he would be unable to even be around humans, let alone work with them. He cleared everything from his mind, thought of his father, and opened a telepathic link with him. Sighing to himself, he talked with his father, "It's Vladimir... Father, I need your help. I'm slowly losing control of my instincts; simply not using my powers isn't enough anymore. Something is eroding my mind from the inside. Please father... do you know what's causing this?" After a few moments, Drake heard his father's voice, distant at first, but then becoming loud and clear inside his mind,
"My son, all vampires are in a constant battle with their instincts. Some choose to succumb to their instincts, attacking humans and feeding without any cares. Others, like you and I, fight their instincts, making sure to never feed on living humans unless absolutely necessary. Drake, with our heightened vampiric qualities, all of Dracula's descendants are destined to lose their sanity. We are engaged in a battle that we can never win. Why do you think I live in the middle of nowhere, with no one around for miles? If I were to leave this place, go back into society, I wouldn't last long before I became a danger to everyone around me. I''m sorry Vladimir... but there's nothing I can do for you." With that, Drake felt his father's presence in his mind fade, and with it, any hope of remaining who he wanted to be.

Opening his eyes and breathing in and out, he stood and stared inside the medical room, as doctors and nurses watched over her. Smiling and chuckling, Drake stretched and walked inside the room, as one of the doctors tried to stop him, he simply said, "Rank 5 hunter Vladimir Von Drake, clearance level 10. Take all the other people and get out." The doctor stared in disbelief, but quickly regained his composure and moved all the other people out of the room. Shutting the door as they all left the room, Drake turned off the lights and slowly walked to the girl strapped to the bed. Standing next to the bed and staring down at the blindfolded girl, he slowly reached down, put his hands behind her head, and removed her blindfold; which she was wearing due to the fact that the turning made people's eyes extra sensitive to light. Her eyes were closed, and Drake could tell she wasn't sleeping; the turning process was a very painful one. Leaning down, close to her ear, he whispered, "I know you're awake. You can open your eyes. You're safe now." Straightening back up, he grabbed a nearby chair, pulled it over to him and sat down. Waiting for the girl to say something.

After leaving the real world Tess entered her own personal hell brought on by the mental shock. She found herself on all fours standing in the grass of a backyard. She looked around and it seemed quite familiar though something was strange. Tess went to stand up and found herself unable to with a strange pressure also being applied to her neck. She looked down to see what causing it and found that she had a dog collar on. The collar was attached to a chain that was connected to a metal pole stuck in the ground on the other end. Why the hell am I chained up like a dog? she thought angrily as she looked around. There was a dog house behind her by the pole but something was strange about it. It had the words "Lutessa" written above the entrance. She walked over to it on her hands and knees to check it out. She soon found that it was large enough for her to go inside. Am I really a dog? she thought as she looked at her hand to see if it was a paw covered in fur. It wasn't and that really worried Tess becuase that meant she was still human but chained up like a dog. The sound of a door sliding open caught her attention and when it grabbed her when she head a man whistle and say "Come on out girl.". Tess exited the dog house and looked up at the man who had called her. Father? she thought as she looked at his face. Now she knew why the house looked so familiar, it was her own house. The man was now standing next to her as he moved his hand across Tess' back as if he was petting her. His other hand was holding a cell phone up to his ear. "Yes, she really really is a beautiful specimen, yeah, you can bring over any dog you want tomorrow and we'll discuss the price of the breeding then, alright.. okay.. yeah... see you tomorrow" click. "Father? Why? Why are you doing this to me?". The man looked at Tess crossly, "Quiet girl, stop barking or I'm going to get a muzzle for you". As he walked away Tess began to cry, she was confused and afraid of what was going to happen tomorrow. She laid on the ground in her school uniform crying until she fell asleep.

When Tess awoke she found herself engulfed in darkness. there was something over her eyes that was preventing her from seeing anything. She tried to reach out and remove it but her arms was bound by something. She tried her other limbs and discovered a similar situation. "Hello? Is anyone out there?" she cried out. Tess could hear the foot steps of some one coming closer. "Who's there? I need some help." A hand touched her uninjured shoulder. "It's going to be alright young lady. This is a hospital and were going to help you. Right now your on a lot of medication but as your turning into a werewolf continues we won't be able to do anything for you. So these restraints are for your own protection. " he explained to her. "Wait werewolf? What the hell do you mean!? Werewolves aren't real! How the ******** could I turn into one!" she yelled still thinking that was some kind of hellish dream world. "Please calm down miss, you were bitten by one several hours ago and we tried to stop the process but we weren't able to. Now try to get some rest before the pain starts." he said before she heard his foot steps slowly get further and further away. Werewolf? no that was a dream. I don't even feel any pain where the wolf bit me! but.. he said i was on medication so mayb..... her thoughts were caught of by an intense searing pain in her shoulder. The area around the wolf bite felt like it was burning as it began to heal rapidly. Her blood felt as it was on fire and it caused Tess to feel unbearable hot as she began to sweat. The pain was intense becuase her cells were actually fighting the wolf cells for dominance. In most cases the wolf cells simply conquered the human ones. This fight for dominance was causing her the extra pain. She tossed and turned against the restraints as she tried desperately to make the pain stop. She screamed loudly as she pulled on her restraints. The medical staff was worried as they had seen bad turnings but this one was quickly becoming the worst.

After her blood reached a stable point the wolf cells spread to the rest of her body. Taking effect first on her bones and muscles. Her bones rapidly grew in length and thickness proportionate to what they were before. With a stronger skeletal frame to hold them the muscles expanded in length to meet the new size and grew somewhat in thickness. The muscle expansion was not too painful and Tess got a short reprieve before a new pain hit her. A pain the felt like it would tear he head in half was hitting her from both ears. Her ears were reconfiguring themselves in form and position on her head. She struggled with her hands as she tried to reach up and tear off her own ears. The restraints groaned against her strength but held firm. Amidst this pain she barely noticed the tingling in her eyes as they reconfigured to their new wolfish state.

When it was all finally over in the early hours of the morning Tess passed out and laid still for several hours. During that time the medical staff took several blood samples for examination. They had never seen a werewolf in human form with wolf ears before and were curious to see how the cells ended up at the end of the turning process.

Tess could hear people shuffling and grumbling as they left the room, with the new strength of her ears she could have heard a pin drop as they were all walking away. Who is the Vladimir Von Drake and why the hell is he so important she wondered as she listened to all of the people leave. As the smell of the medical staff left the room something new filled the void. Something that smelled dead, something that reeked of old flesh. How can I be safe when something that smells of death is near? she wondered. As Tess opened her eyes she realized that she could see clear as day even though the lights were turned off and there were no windows. She looked around with yellow eyes until she stopped on his face. Her right arm flexed and rammed against the restraint strap as she tried desperately to attack him. The strap strained and frayed on the edge but still held. Her mind flipped back in time as she felt his disgusting tongue probe her chest. "Why the ******** would I be safe with you? Get away from me you monster!" she screamed. Once again anger, and disgust welled up in her chest. She was still helpless, unable to break the restraints and this monster just sat there by her side. Why? Why is that b*****d here beside me? What the hell does he want with me. she thought as tears began to stream from her eyes. Why am I so pathetically weak?

When the girl screamed at him, and thrashed against her restraints, Drake simply sat still. He had expected this, she probably wanted nothing to do with him after what he had done the night before. Standing, he saw the tears running down her face, and said, "I know I'm probably the last person you want to see, but monster is a little harsh. What I did last night was inexcusable... I could tell you about how it was necessary in order to get you away from that werewolf, or how if I hadn't done that you'd probably have been used and eaten; but I won't. It was necessary, but it was also unforgivable, and I'm sorry. As for being safe, you're with the hunter's organization now, and there's no safer place for you." He paused, letting his words sink in. Looking around the room, he smelled the air, it reeked of disinfectant and other medical supplies, how the humans could stand to be in the room for so long was a mystery to him. Looking back towards the girl, before continuing, he thought about what she said. She had called him a monster, and while he denied it before, he knew it was true. He was a monster, nothing more than that. As much as he wanted to deny it, and make it seem like he wasn't like all the other vampires, deep down, he couldn't deny what he was.

Sighing, he continued, with a tone in his voice that betrayed his normally carefree and lax attitude, with one of slight sorrow and regret, "Look... I don't want us to get off on the wrong foot here... And since... well... The hunter's organization is extending an offer for you to work for them. And... they're asking me to to train you and make sure you can handle your hunter duties before they fully accept you... So... let me make a formal introduction. My name is Vladimir Von Drake, direct descendant of Count Dracula... and..." Drake stepped over to the bed, slowly reached over and undid the straps that held the girl down. He knelt next to the girl's bed, not on one knee like one would normally expect, but on two knees. Drake was doing something, never before done by a vampire noble, and certainly not done by a direct descendant of Dracula; he was begging, "I ask you, no... I beg you. Please forgive my actions from before. It was ungentlemanly, it was inexcusably rude, and I do not wish for you to hold it against me." Drake stayed still, his hands on the floor, and his head hanging low, waiting for the girl's reaction. Wondering if she would reject him, accept him, or even attack him. He didn't care, any reaction would have been understandable to him; he might not even fight back if she attacked him.

You're damn right I don't want to see you. she thought to herself silently as he continued on. As he spoke of monsters and what could have happened Tess really had to wonder. Being used and eaten would have been quick compared to her night in the hospital and and then she wouldn't have to worry about it becuase she would have been dead. Unforgivable? Now that's a stretch, but unforgettable is more like it. Wait? Is he serious? He's SORRY! I just went through the most painful night of my life and he's just, sorry?! Well that's great the monster is sorry. I guess he still has some shamble of a soul left inside of him so its not all bad. she tohught rather sarcastically. His words help her though. They rid her of the shame of being weak by shifting the blame on to the vampire.

The wrong foot? Yeah, almost ate me, thought about taking me, sure that's the wrong foot all right. Then of course there was this Hunter's Organization that she kept hearing about they were giving her an offer? It wasn't like she had Were parents, or clan to join, what else was she to do other than die? Tess had no idea about how to be a werewolf so she basically needed them. Oh great! They want the rapist vampire to train me... Did he just say Drac, Dracula? As in the Count Dracula of myth and legend? Tess was so caught up in her thoughts about the Dracula of myth that she didn't even notice him undo the restraints. What! Is he kneeling to me? He really is! Tess rolled over on to her side so that she was facing him. Her hand reached out and placed itself gently underneath Drake's chin with her thumb on his mouth. She pulled his head up to look into her angry yellow eyes, before she abruptly slapped him across the face with her other hand. She then rolled back over and laid down again. "Lutessa Victoria, and don't ever lick me again without my permission Vladimir."
