A loud crash startled Azul, and he looked up to see what the commotion was. The female named Mingan had returned with 2 more rabbits, and he noticed that there were 2 more wolves too, who seemed to be weary about the alpha male.

Azul blinked. It was another female wolf and a... another pup? He squinted.

'Is... Istas?'

What was she doing there? He didn't recognize the wolf she was with, but it looked as if they were hunting together. Azul sighed. It must of been nice to have another to hunt with...

He noticed the grey female wolf approach him, and drop the 2 rabbits in front of him. His eyes widened. They looked really good, but he didn't understand why she was being so nice. He decided to not look a gift horse in the mouth, and began gnawing on the meat, spitting out fluff as he tore into the flesh. When he finished, he licked his lips, and looked up at her.

She had told him to follow her. Protection? He glanced back at the alpha male and 2 wolves. Istas had a guardian... but she was just a young female pup. It wouldn't be safe for her to run about by herself. Azul looked down. Although it was true he didn't have anyone to depend on, he didn't think he would be needing protection... especially from a female wolf. But it was strange... he felt... comfortable around her. Safe... It had been a long time since he felt this way. Azul got up, and faced the female.

''O-okay, thanks for the meal.''

He decided he would ask her why she treated him so well on the way.

Istas took a moment when her name was called, looking over the male pup before the mental light bulb lit up. "AZUL!!!!" she took less then two seconds to pounce the boy. Licking his muzzle with affection. "Azul!!! Where have you been?!!!!" She let out a whine as all the adults were forgotten.

Saorise nodded to the other Lone female before addressing the strong male taking a moment to fully look him over. "Well that makes things easier!" she gave a small bark as a sign of a real hello, her tong lulling out in a goofy way as her green eye's looked up at the two deer curiously. "Interesting choices in friends you two choose to keep. But to his, her own... I some how managed to have a pup follow me... who knows one day I could be a pack Drappa... How do you both do? The day's quite nice afterall!" She said in a sing-song way before dipping her muzzle down to tear into the rabbit she had let fall to her paws. She managed to split it in two before taking part for herself to eat, her green eye's never leaving Istas's form as she watched amused with the pups. She pulled up for a moment, her teal muzzle blood stained to address the other Lone. "Why leave so soon... us lone wolves rarely have a chance to meet others without strife surrounding the situation..." after saying that she dipped her nose back to her kill.

"The mountains." His eyes wandered to Mingan, "With your body build.. You'll be killed." He looked up at the mountains for a moment. He had to be back there soon. Lowering an ear then letting it flick back up.
"Perhaps I could help you up it. If you're looking for something it'd be better if a Mountain Wolf escorted you. I would suggest learning how to climb trees. But I know your buck up there will look tasty to mountain lions.." As he said Mountain Wolf, maybe understanding unlocked to why he was so muscle-toned and larger then the normal wolves down within the plains. The wolf could take down deer with a bit more ease. It was obvious the wolf could take down a mountain lion too. The scars upon his forelegs spread and when he breathed, sometimes they opened from how deep they were.

He looked to Saorise as she exclaimed her words happier, looking to Ivory who puffed. "What's so wrong with me? I'm a wolf." She bared her doe teeth. "See! And he's my father." She puffed her chest out more. "B..By adoption!" With that, Nifl did something he barely ever did and chuckled. A deep barrel-tone chuckle. One of those viking chuckles that made things all the better. "The day is fine. Though I'd rather be home, keeping my attention on a rather..." He tilted his head "Mischievous adolescent and a pup who's rather laid back." Ivory rolled her eyes at the idea of Tempest. The one mentioned in the earlier.

Flinching a bit Mingan moved back from the somewhat..hyper female. How odd. Then the males words had her hackles rising a snort leaving his nose. "I am too stubborn to die..besides I've been in them before." Masichuvio shook his antlered head then started moving a bit, stretching himself out for the travel up the mountain. keeping her serious position Mingan moved to lightly nose at Azul before speaking again to the large male wolf. "I do not seek anything but, knowledge..and memories. Masichuvio can fend for himself but, if you wish to accompany us that is your choice. Felines climb trees..I am far too heavy to claw my way up one." Gently the female nudged Azul again before stretching herself out and, shaking her gray/black body out. A rather curious smirk rose to Mingan's face at the doe's words..she thought she was a wolf? Masichuvio snorted, and moved nearer his ears flickering before he spoke. "Come before it gets too dark.." His eyes flicked to the female wolf and, pup. "Maybe we should leave Azul with these two..the mountains are a dangerous place." Mingan growled and fluffed herself up a bit. "I can handle a young one don't underestimate me Masichuvio!" The buck sighed exasperatedly but, said nothing more. Quietly he shifted and, moved off quietly towards the edge of the trees while Mingan and, the others spoke.

''Ack!''

Azul toppled over as Istas tackled him, sending the two rolling.

''It's... it's good to see you again..''

He blushed as she greeted him affectionately. He looked up, and saw the grey wolf approach him. She nudged him gently, and he watched her stretch out... as if waiting for him to get on. Azul's eyes widened.

''Y-You don't have to carry me, I'm perfectly capable of walking on my own..''

He looked at the alpha male, and then over to the female's friend, the deer he had tried to attack. He didn't seem to want him to come along with them... and he didn't blame him. He did think of him as just breakfast not too long ago...

Azul looked back at the grey wolf. The alpha said she would be killed... he frowned. Although she probably wasn't as strong as the alpha male, he was sure she was plenty strong enough to take care of herself... especially with that buck as a companion.

He turned his attention back to Istas.

''Sorry Istas, I have to go now. Please take care...''

He got up and shook himself off. The sun was starting to set, and it would be dark soon. It would be best to leave before it did. He faced the grey wolf.

''I'm ready to leave, whenever you are.''

He was very amused by the clouds as the danced carefree across the sky. "The life of a cloud," Berko sighed, "That is the life I wish I was granted." Berko stopped and took a moment to ponder over what he had said. "Ah yes. The clouds get to travel far places, and see many new things. What a wonderful, wonderful life to live." He smiled as a soft breeze ruffled his brown fur. Berko quickly turned his attention towards the wind. "Wolves." he mumbled sniffing the air. He was not fond of others of his kind. Not because he didn't enjoy their company... but because they typically didn't enjoy his. Berko was different in the eyes of most wolves. He did not believe in the pack structures, instead he believed everyone was equal, no wolf was greater than another. "There seems to be many," he said as a shiver ran down his spine. "I do not want any trouble, but I am very curious as to why they are here." He shifted his weight uneasily and decided it would be best to check the situation out from a distance. Berko began again, trotting in the direction of the wind, this time focusing on what was ahead rather than the sky above. After only a moment he could see the group of wolves. "Deer too." he whispered, "how odd." He decided to keep his distance, not wanting to cause any trouble. Berko was clearly out numbered and not much of a fighter. He sat down and neatly wrapped his tail around his paws gazing at the group of wolves and deer curiously.

"The words of a stubborn non-mountain wolf." His ears flexxed a little. "The felines have grown uneasy. I've been attacked by many, the only scar that I bear not of a cougar, is the one under my eye miss." He didn't get a name. Shaking his head and huffed. "Pardon me, my mother would kill me if she knew I didn't tell you all my name before I said anything to any of you. I am Niflheim, Alpha of the Einherjar Pack. The pack that rests within the mountains. And has for centuries." His ear swiveled, scratch that maybe millenia.

His eyes looked to Azul and then up to Mingan. "It takes a lot of patience to take care of pups miss.." He looked to the other pup'd female. Tilting his head. Then looked back to Mingan. Maybe he didn't think of her much of a mother? Or he wished she could be. His eyes danced over her fur for a moment. She was a beauty, but to bad their kind had driven her so unsettled. He straightened up when he smelt the lone male around. Niflheim hadn't met a lone male before as many had called them scavengers for lust. But he wasn't one to make that decision. But he let the male keep his distance. Feeling that is what Berko wished.
Ivory looked at the stag as Nifl spoke. Possibly thinking on her words again?

Darius lumbered through the empty plain, heading away from the setting sun, a dead quail clutched within his jaws. He had caught the bird only recently, and he could still feel the warmth of its blood, held in check only by the thin layer of skin and covering of feathers struggling against his fangs. A hunger rumbled through him, but it wasn't the raging pain he felt after a few weeks of failed hunts, and so he continued to walk, determined to find a less desolate field to have his meal.

He was a wolf, a pack animal, and although he did not show it, he was lonely, away from the bustling life of a pack. And so, when he caught the scent of wolves between the smell of his bird, he looked up, immediately slowing and alert but approaching, nonetheless.

There appeared to be a few number of wolves, although he did not recall passing a scented border, and he trotted warily around, wondering what the group was about. He did not know whose presence he was under and so he walked under his normal gait, with no respectful crouch or lowered tail offered. His jaw tightened possessively around his catch, puncturing the quail only barely, and sending a few drops dribbling down his chin. A quick shift fixed the matter, as he turned the bird so that its blood was blocked by his tongue instead of falling freely, but he knew the scent would catch some attention and he bristled the fur along his back, trying to get the message across that, should anyone try to take what was rightfully his, it would be no easy feat.

But when he had reached a closer distance, he realized it was all for naught. Two deer were around them and, although it surprised him to see them in such close company, it calmed him, too. In his old pack, he had often seen his pack-mates running amongst herds, with no deer starting or fleeing for its life. If no hunger was sensed from the wolves, the deer themselves were content to graze and this, he assumed, was why the deer he saw now chose to stay with the wolves.

Still, he was naturally suspicious, and instead of walking in their midst, he went to the wolf he had seen from a distance, apart from the group and alone. Settling himself down near the wolf but at a respectable distance so that the brown male could stand and walk away without any trouble if he chose to, he finally relinquished his hold on the quail, set it between his paws, and began to eat.

Istas whimpered a bit as Azul stood to leave. Her ear's back as she took a second to look him over. "Just be safe k? " she looked back boldly at the other female wolf puffing her small chest out some as she pulled her tail high and trotted back over to Saorises side to finally take part in her portion of the rabbit.

Saorise eye'd the Doe with amusement before letting her own chuckle out. "Well then, pleasure to meet you tall wolf with antlers! What a day it is indeed!" her green eye's sharpened for a moment as the scents of two other males filled her nose, her ears flicked up then turned each way before she finally turned to see the other males. "I think we have ourselves quite the meeting..." her words were directed at Niflheim before turning her attention back to the Black and Brown males. "Why must you two be so far away?" she gave a wolfish grin before turning back to address the group they already had once more. "It's a pleasure to meet you Niflheim... I'm Saorise, and this is my little friend Istas... and those scars look quite painful..."

She licked the top of the pups head,
Istas choosing to ignore it as she continued to devour her meal. Saorise looked up to the Female lone with ears lowered. "Well... if you must go... I wish you three fast paws and good luck." She looked down at Azul admiring his tough edge. "I'm not sure how you know my Istas, but for her sake of knowing you I wish you strength and cunning pup. Perhaps we will meet again?"

A faint barely noticeable smile flickered over the females face her tail swaying in a light wag. "Since I do not meet many often it is a...delight...my name is Mingan." Turning her gaze to Niflheim she cocked her head to one side before settling next to Azul "If I could feed and raise myself I think I can care for a pup..besides Azul is obviously a fighter if he has survived so long..and if he tried to attack a full grown wolf and, buck. I am patient just not with most males or others of my species." The comfortable air stirred when the others spoke of..more wolves. Sniffing a bit Mingan's ears flickered back against her skull. She could handle Niflheim. She did not understand why she could handle his company..but, she could. These others though. Lone males were a different matter entirely. Sidling closer to Azul she felt a low growl growing inside her chest. Why were more wolves coming? Masichuvio shook his antlered head worry filling him as he moved back to where Azul, and Mingan stood. His muscles flexed growing rigid as he scented the two lone males...males were not good. His companion enjoyed the other males company in a small way but, adding more males to the mix might end badly. "Mingan..we will stay but, if things become dangerous we must go find a place to rest for the night. It's getting too close to night to risk the mountains." Looking up from her place the female nodded her tail thumping against the ground in an anxious manner. She kept her gaze upon Niflheim's strong body wondering vaguely if he would try to protect them should the males attack or be unfriendly. Oddly enough Mingan found her mind thinking him..rather interesting. He acted differently then other males she had encountered, he didn't grate upon her nerves. Strange.

He turned to Istas and smiled.

''Of course. I wish to see you again.''

He then turned his attention to the wolf who introduced herself as Saorise.

''Thank you.''

He nodded towards Istas, whose full attention was on the meal before her.

''Perhaps another time, if it allows, I can tell you how Istas and I know each other. But I am glad to meet you, and hope to see you again also.''

Azul then looked at Mingan, and beamed as she complemented him, but became confused as she slid closer to him, a low growl rising from her throat. He looked around confused, trying to sense what it was she had sensed. Was there more trouble? He lifted his nose up, and sniffed.

Though not yet fully trained with the ways of hunting, he could slightly pick up a faint scent. He sniffed harder. The scent of... wolves? Male wolves... He glanced back at Mingan. He sensed that she felt uncomfortable around other males, yet seemed to tolerate the presence of the one named Niflheim. Maybe because he was part of a pack and established that he was not a threat. But... why were there more wolves? What did they want?

He moved closer to Mingan and nuzzled against her, hoping that it provided some relief and comfort for her. He was beginning to get drowsy as he felt the effect of the full meal. He hoped there wouldn't be trouble, and tried to stay alert, should he have to fight.

He knew it would not be in his best interest to approach the group, but he was very curious. In particular he had caught the eye of colorful greenish female who he was very interested in meeting. Making his decision to approach the group he stood up. He lowered his tail and ears hoping that his kind easy going nature would help him not cause problems with the wolves he was approaching. He made sure to take each step carefully. Watching the reactions of the larger male wolf. When he was close enough he sat down and perked his ears up slowly. "Fancy day for a meeting." He said cheerfully tilting his head to the right. He made sure not to make eye contact with the larger black and gray male, knowing that he held a high status. He smiled awkwardly and lowered his head to the greenish female. "I have no intent to harm anyone, I'm simply curious as to why such a large group of wolves is meeting here." He raised his head and rose to his paws. "I am Berko."

Darius was in the middle of spitting feathers out of his bloodied maw when the brown wolf suddenly stood and walked away. It was unexpected, to say the least. He was used to others avoiding him due to his size and appearance, but the way the lone had padded away… it was as if he hadn’t even seen Darius at all. Under normal circumstances, he might have grown angry at the insult, but he remembered that he, too, was a lone wolf. Without a pack to belong in, there was nothing to put him above the other in rank, and that, as lones, they weren’t obliged to acknowledge one another as those bonded in a pack would be. With this realization, the suppressed anger within him dissipated and, calmed, he continued to gnaw at his quail.

Looking towards the group, he found himself now alone and this, along with the lone brown’s treatment towards him, made him think once more of his old pack, and he sighed regrettably. Being off on his own wasn’t as hard as he had originally thought, although it was much stranger than he was used to, and he was sure that he could continue if he had to, but... it wasn’t the life he wanted, nor one he would continue to pursue if he could help it.

Having finished his meal, he proceeded to lick the remains from his paws, coming to the decision that he, too, would go to the group and find out what they were doing. But only after he had watched for a while longer. His eyes had caught sight of a dull, tan sort of wolf, with feathers hanging off its ear and neck, and the way it had reacted to his presence, along with the antlered deer beside it. Their purpose was still unknown to him, along with their reason for gathering, seeing as they lacked the familiar smell he associated with wolves who belonged to the same pack. For now, it was too dangerous, especially with the pups with them. He had seen the way wolves could be when defending their young and, hell, he had even been one of them when his alphas had given birth to a litter. No. For now, it was too dangerous. He would wait and see before he made a move.

User ImageIstas Istas looked up briefly when Azul mentioned the story of how they met, her ears flicked for a moment as she gave him a small wolfish smile and went back to devouring her meal. Saorise nodded happily. "I think I'd like to hear that, I'm sure She will tell me some but your side will be interesting to know!" Her ears went back as the Brown coated male padded through the grass to where they were, then sat down not far from her.

It took her a moment to adjust, Lone males were always interesting individuals, but he quickly quelled any worry she had with his words. She nodded back with a brief wag of her tail. " Good to meet you Berko. I'm Saorise. As for why exactly were meeting here... it was all quite random really... I'm not sure what to think of it... I know my companion-" She nodded her head in Istas's direction. " And I were hunting when I kind of... slid in... I guess you could say." She gave a wolfish grin before looking over the Alpha. Careful to keep her eye's not directly with his. " Where in the mountains are you from good wolf? I've traveled them some... but not far, it gets a tad dangerous too far in..."

Niflheim looked to the brown wolf and bowwed his head. "Greetings I am Niflheim, Alpha of the Einherjar." He then shifted a little on his paws as he sat. Beside him Ivory dropped to the ground and buckled her knees under her cutely. She had her fill of berries and grass. Leaving some for the other doe of the pack.
"The large valley between the biggest mountains. The dark and white mountains known as Sigurd and Shi. The caving units along the sides of the mountains and the trees deep within the valley are my territory. It's large but the wolf count is at its most decline since the beginning of the pack centuries prior to this day." He stated and then eyed his doe for a moment, standing up to stretch out his legs and back. His tail flicking up and then lowering a half-mass as this was just the fields and not his mountains.
