Metus Aquinas I'm talking about the time when we were all 5-12 year old's. All I keep hearing about these days about that particular age group is nothing but complete bullshit. I've played games with plenty of people and never have I seen the kind of conduct that those screaming buffoons display on the mics. Sure, I could understand situations like Diablo 2 where an immature high level character goes into a game and starts murdering everyone and camp spawning their asses, but come on. There has to be a limit somewhere. It's like the 12 year old's of this generation all have some sort of anger management issues. Of course, there are a few decent 12 year old gamers here and there, but it's pretty rare. And the adults of our generation said our generation was messed up. Look at this newer generation. stare
I understand where you're coming from. Now I know perfectly well how my elders felt when they would say "Back in my day..." I catch myself doing that a lot. Back in my day, we didn't have microphones and online gaming. We had Nintendo Entertainment Systems, Atari 2600s, joysticks, coins and the arcade. I went to friends' houses and we played together that way. We walked to the corner store with pockets bursting with quarters and spent all day trying to beat Space Harrier. We didn't have all this new-fangled technology that you kids have. Now where's my cane! =P

I hate my age group. So many of them don't understand the point of video games and it is starting to get annoying. One example is Battlefield Heroes. The majority is of my age group... People call you a noob for forming a team. It's ridiculous. Cursing is flying everywhere. There is not a single sign of literacy... I try to disassociate myself with the lot.

I can sort of understand your point of view Prince of Nurgle. I have a sister at the same age as you deal with such people. It's one of the reasons why she doesn't like playing games that involve teamwork anymore. "It's literally the same everywhere you go" she says.
I guess alot of younger generation people believe they can do whatever the hell they want online and get away with it, whereas they'd get their a** kicked in reality.
I admit that I share some similar characteristics when I was younger where I would ragequit if I continued to die at a particular stage and so forth, but I eventually grew out of that habit and simply switched games to vent off some steam. Hopefully every other gaming generation after me follows a similar path and simply grows out of the obnoxious habit.

I'm 16 years old (17 in April). I've been playing video games for...a long time. But I didn't really consider myself a gamer until a couple of years ago. The game that got me hooked into gaming was Resident Evil 3.Cookie please! 3nodding

It's good to know that you've only recently entered the world of gaming. You've got much things left to discover in this world, lol.

I would have to agree with you, Poe. But sometimes, it makes me feel proud to have been part of the early generations of gaming history. I'm saving my SNES for the day when I have my very own family and playing it with my children. Hopefully they don't grow up to become one of the douchebag ragequitting fools on the 360/PS3.
