It took Elle a moment to turn, her defenses raising as she listened to the calm voice. Smoothing her hands down Asra's hips, she let her touch leave Asra as she turned.

It was him. The same trembling awareness overtook her, every step seeming more unbelievable than the last. Slowing once she was within arms reach, she lifted her gaze and her hand.

Fingers settled as close to Halexei's chest as he would allow. She wanted to touch him, for many reasons...but doubted their flesh would brush. More than anything, she wanted to feel for the heartbeat she knew wasn't there.

"I'll do that. In fact, it's what I'd like to be doing now." There was no hard edge, no sarcasm to her voice. Only simple truth. Brows furrowing as they raised, Elle searched for hints in every way she could. She felt nothing from him.

When she spoke again, her voice was surprisingly gentle. This was a step, after all...coming to this place rather than shattering it into black. "What are you looking for? Hoping for?" Part of her deeply wished to know. The rest of her was singing with worry for the silent boy across the room.

Either way, it would be over soon.

Halexei looked down at the hand that tempted to come near him, but he did nothing to stop it. He didn't care if she touched him or not, it wouldn't affect either of them. He would hardly be her main focus for long.

"I look for no one. I wish for nothing. I come here for your sake."

His words always sounded as though they were being said through some kind of barrier, muffled and wavered. He gestured with his head for her to turn around, and all at once Asrafel's body turned to face them both. His eyes were open, but they could not see; instead, they swirled with color and light.

"You have a choice to make, Elle. I would like to warn you that you must be sure about what you decide. You shall not get a chance to change your mind. I have listened to your description of the world, and from what you say, I feel it is safe to assume that you do not wish to become a destroyer of worlds. If that is the case, then your choice is lessened."

Asra's face scrunged up, and he let out a soft, sleepy cry of pain as though this was all a nightmare. His head lolled back behind him and his arms fell back, as an orb shone brightly within his ribcage, before pushing itself out. It slipped away through his chest, rising up to float gently above him. Before a moment passed, another, brighter light burned within his chest, and a second orb floated out from within. Neither resembled anything like the orb that Elle had seen the day Shauna was given the chance to grow. These were a part of the boy, and it was clear by how pale he was becoming that they were not meant to be away from him for long.

The orbs floated beside one another, hovering slowly up and down in a soft dance.

"What do you know of your past, child?"

He was her focus, until the moment Asra turned. Taking a step back, a step closer to the sweet boy, she slowed at Halexei's words. It was quite a speech, coming from him...but her heart held room only for Asra's pain.

Destroyer of worlds. Even hearing him suggest such tightened her stomach. Not for her own weakness, no....but she knew Halexei did not speak to her alone.

The orbs, despite their dance, did not fascinate her. Elle's face stayed on Asra's, heart pounding painfully.

"What do I know? Nothing. What do I remember? Little faces. A family. People I wanted to protect." Despite her hurt, Elle smiled...willing Asra to wake up and look at her with his own beautiful eyes.

"Little souls, and it just kept getting darker..."
PostPosted: Mon Jan 23, 2006 9:14 pm

"You should think more upon those wisps of memories that elude you. It is always smart to learn from the mistakes of the past. Nevertheless, what matters is that you know this life you now own was not your first. Your world was destroyed by the fallacies and sins of it's own people. This world we live in now heads toward that same path."

The brilliant blue and white orb floated forward, resting directly in front of Elle. It would hurt to look directly at it, but a mere glance would catch the sight of small lines along the surface of the surface of the orb, signifying constraint.

"I give you a choice. You must choose your own path, but again I warn you; you may not go back once your path is chosen. Before you lies a fork in the road. Here upon this path is the choice to change the world. To truly desire change, you must be willing to sacrifice for it. The path to change is not without it's pain and suffering, and there are no rewards for the bearer of this burden. Much is sacrificed for the safety of the future."

The orb floated back in place, and the darker green one settled down before her instead. It was housed on top of a crystalline holder, that looked much like a flower in bloom. It gave off a calming effect, the green lights within blossoming repeatedly.

"Should you choose this path, you choose to trust in fate. This world must follow the path intended for it, and to try and change it would be foolish. The path of acceptance lives in harmony with all around it, and learns not to take what it has been given for granted. The future does not hold prevalance over the present, for those who choose this past. They will not be able to stop the inevitable end."

The second orb floated away from her, returning to it's rightful place beside it's brother.

"Do not choose lightly, but know this; your choice affects you, and only you. You alone must walk the path, and face the consequences that come. Take what time you will to decide, but merely touch that which you have chosen, and your decision is made."

Elle's hand shook as she reached toward Asra. The orbs floated between them...to push past them would risk touching one. She cared nothing for the magics, for Halexei's soft words. What she cared for was right before her.

"To fall...is our right. Just as it is our right to succeed. You can no more take away our punishment than you can our rewards. If this world is to survive, it will take the free will of every good person in it...not the meddling machinations of a dark angel."

Twisting to stare at Halexei with wide eyes, disbelief evident across Elle's usually smiling face, she shook her head. "And it isn't your right to make us choose, any more than it's your right to force Asra to offer the choice."

All she wanted was peace, but Halexei offered two sides of the same war. Hand closing into a fist just short of the green orb, she turned to face him fully. She didn't have long...it was killing Asra to manifest these magicks.

"Let me take one from him. Let me help. He should not have to bear this, especially not alone. I've had...enough...of sacrifice."

Her words indicated a clear decision, and Lexi readied himself to leave. However, the distraction of Asra kept her from making it, and it was both endearing and annoying at the same time.

The side of his lip turned just slightly upward in a faint half-smile. If Elle's eyes were on him as he did so, a sudden headache would pierce through her brain, though only for a moment until she looked away.

"Sweet child. You can no more bear his burden than he can deny it. Besides, it would be fruitless for me to have two messengers. You would both equally suffer the same, for no difference reward. He has accepted his fate, and yet he still lives his happy, frivolous life. Do not pity him so. Simply end his this quickly, and he will be returned to you."

Asra's empty face had held no more pain since the orbs had left him, but it had held nothing else. His expression was slack, and his color was pale; he was simply empty. The orbs had wound their way around his soul, living off of him like parasites. Without them, he slowly ebbed away.

Squeezing her eyes shut against the pain, Elle shook her head. It wasn't right, and it wasn't fair...especially for someone like Asra. "Frivolous. You truly think so?" Opening her eyes once more, Elle took one last look at Halexei before turning her back to him slowly.

"Come back to me, some day soon. I wish to change your mind."

He was right, about some things. It was time to end this. Lifting her hand, Elle settled her fingers carefully on the surface of the emerald orb as she leaned forward, and pressed her lips to Asra's.

All she wanted...was a peaceful life.

The bright blue orb had already begun to float back towards Asra, veering away from the woman as she reached for the green one. It slid back into Asra from behind, while the orb Elle touched blazed with color and light. It's earthen tones ebbed out from within, tangled wisps that looked like lucid roots reaching out to her. They wrapped around her arms and legs, before one particularly large one wrapped around her waist. They pulled her away from Asrafel, holding her hostage as they grew and began to cover her skin.

Asrafel's eyes blinked as the angelic orb returned to him. Two within him were enough to return him to a lucid consciousness, and when he opened his eyes, he was presented with the vision of part of him swallowing Elle up whole within it's brown and green mist. He reached out with a sluggish hand, and his lips mouthed her name, though he could do nothing. It was lucky for them both that the moment was fated to end almost as quickly as it had begun.

She would feel the change, but as soon as it was over the mist would dissipate, disentangling itself from her limbs as they were sucked back into the orb from whence they came. Just as they returned to their rightful place, the orb returned to its own, plunging itself into Asra's chest forcefully.

When he opened his eyes again, Asra saw before him a stranger. He knew better, but still.. the blonde hair, the dark skin, and most of all, what she wore.. or rather, what she didn't.

Lexi was gone before the process had even finished, and all Asra saw before him now was Elle's new form.

His mouth hung open just slightly, stunned speechless. She was.. breathtaking.

She didn't struggle against the change...if there were consequences of her choice, she would face them. As her head raised, eyes unusually vivid, Elle's first thought was not of herself, but Asra.

Perhaps a touch of his passion passed to her in the kiss. Her hands smoothed down the hips of a woman, not a girl. Sheer fabric slid across her thighs, and ribbons coiled up her calves...a hint of her smile returned as she noted his expression. "Asra...why always in the kitchen?" Laughing quietly, Elle sank forward into his arms...more than glad he was safe. The thin branches of her crown rustled faintly as she tilted her head back, once inside his arms.

"You heard...none of it, then? How do you feel?" Crimson lips parted in questioning, though her eyes were still warm. The weight of her experience settled upon her still, but some things were more important than the fate of the world.

He knew that she would change, and he knew that he would wake to find her anew, but.. it just.. she..

Good heavens.

His ribbons flailed to compensate for a sudden lack of composure and modesty.

He felt electricity run through him when she fell into his arms, and though his mouth was still hung open, no words came out. Instead, a tiny little squeak managed to escape, before he was silenced once more.

She tilted back, and asked him a question. A question.. what was it? He couldn't hear past the rushing of blood. His lips moved as though he tried to explain, but nothing happened. His eyes wandered away, drinking in the vision that lay in his arms, because it was all he could do. He ran his hand against her arm, a gesture meant to comfort more than anything, but he just couldn't say anything.

It was probably because speech required a part of Asra's brain that was currently withering away from lack of blood.

Despite his relative silence, how he felt was rather...evident. Relaxing against him, finally certain that he'd come through the experience unscathed, Elle twined her arms around his neck.

"Thank you, Asra. I know it must not be easy, playing host to such powers. You're strong to bear it so well." Rising up just a bit to close the distance between them, Elle's eyes drifted closed and her lips found his.

As she broke the kiss, settling back down on her heels, she shook her pale hair back behind her shoulders and gathered it into her hands. Twisting it into a knot, leaving her shoulders bare, she twiddled her fingers in invitation to one of the ribbons.

"Are you...still in the mood for tea?"

Powers? What power? He had no power. He couldn't even move, he had so little power. Oh, that power.. right now, he was very, very grateful for that power. He didn't care how it hurt, or how mean it was that Lexi kept using him like this, if it meant he had Elle resting against him, asking him if he was all right. His arms slid against her, and he managed a frown when she pulled away. Every move she made was intoxicating, like some sort of fluid dance just by raising her arm to pull her hair away, or reaching out for one of his ribbons. It filled him with longing.

He pushed himself up slightly, before his palms pressed against the floor and he crawled towards her. The ribbon she teased wrapped around her finger, furthering on to caress her wrist. Suddenly he was practically atop her, his hands pressed on the floor on either side of her. He straightened his back, and looked down at her, one brow raised.

"No. No tea."

As she leaned back to accommodate him, hair spilling out of the bun she'd tucked it into, Elle smiled with more than simple warmth back up at him. Running both hands down his sides, she tilted her head again.

"No...tea. Understood." This was, of course, the other side to Asra that she so loved. The transparent panel of cloth that technically counted as a skirt pooled to the side...leaving their bare legs to brush.

"And...is the bath out, too?" She didn't sound disappointed. The fingers of one hand, however, traveled to brush over the unblemished skin of his chest...exploring as she remembered his pain.

Apparently, it was all better now.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 24, 2006 3:41 pm

A.. bath? His movements stilled for a moment, considering the option, before making his decision. He leaned in and kissed her collarbone, before hopping to his feet and holding his hand out.

She must be sore, after such a change. Her body changing, growing.. not to mention the stress of emotion. He could relate; after all, he'd gone through the same thing. In addition, his own body was sore and stressed from his ordeal, and both truths added up to make his decision simple.

"No, I think a bath is a wonderful idea." He murmured, his voice retaining it's deep tremor, vibrated with a certain husky undertone. He gave her a small, knowing smile, and held his hand out for her to take so that he could help her up.

She'd just about changed her mind at another of his gentle kisses when Asra offered her a hand. Sighing with a smile, Elle accepted it...pulling slowly to her feet. She was tired, more than anything...but the idea of a bath with Asra had more than a little appeal. Of course, she simply assumed it would be with him without even asking!

"I don't want to be trouble. Once I'm....clean...though, there are many things we should discuss." As she pulled herself up straight, Elle nestled forward to leave a kiss below his ear...a low happy noise that matched the tone of his voice catching in her throat.

Still holding his hand in both of hers, Elle took one last look at the spot Halexei had stood before nodding him on. A single red petal drifted silently from her crown.
