~~At first the woman's hands began to shake from nerves, ready to accept her punishment for lateness, but when the man started to laugh, her stomach dropped in a awkward manner, leaving her feeling a little dizzy and ever so slightly confused. Gail hadn't always been this skittish or nervous, but some many years of being a charming woman and mother at the same time kills something inside of you. She was extremely relieved that she wasn't actually in any trouble at this point, but still, it was a little strange to show up at work and not have anything to do. I might as well look over the recipe books to make sure I'm familiar with everything... Hm, maybe I can even bring in some of mother's old recipes someday... Maybe... She stood there dazed for a moment or two in thought before she turned to the other girl that got yelled at. ~~"So... You're Mariella?" she asked blinking a few times before extending her hand, "I'm Gail..." She didn't really know what else to say as meeting people outside of her old business was a bit strange. If she were still a hostess, she would start laying on the flattery, but that would be a little strange in a situation like this one, no?

ββββπΡΞΉΡΟ ΙaΟ»ΡΡΞΉββββ β Xeiro nodded at Nadia and walked behind the counter. He pulled put a tinier basket and grabbed a few slices of banana nut bread and put them in and a few different types of tart. He then wrapped it with saran wrap and handed it to her. "Don't go to the government offices. Check." He made a mental note and chuckled, "I hope that's enough?" He questioned and walked back to the front of the counter to lean on his corner.
β He turned to the bakers and smiled, "I apologize for the slowness today, ladies. I promise it won't always be like this. Today was just the opening day and I wanted to get acquainted with the townsfolk." He crossed his arms over his chest and stood thinking for a second.

Mariella looked down awkwardly as the man spoke sternly to them but relief washed over her as he began to laugh. She stood there a bit awkwardly until the other woman spoke to her, "Y-yes, it's nice to meet you," she answered her softly. She looked towards her boss as he spoke to them, apparently apologizing for the slowness. Mariella smiled back, "Oh, it's fine," she told him, "So do umm bake also?" she asked.

Nadia watched the baker collect her order and she smiled while he wrapped it all up in saran wrap. "That's perfect. Thank you so much," Nadia said as she reached in her back pocket to get her wallet out. Pulling out a few bucks she held it out for the man to take. Once she got her change, Nadia would take her goods and head to the door. "It was nice meeting everyone," she said sweetly, giving them all a smile and wave before heading out to her next destination. Even before she was fully out the door, Nadia pulled out one of the tarts the owner had wrapped up for her and took a bite. Delicious! She had been really hungry from living off of snacks since yesterday. This fruit filled tart was exactly the kind of kicker she needed. She was so hasty that her bite had the eagerness of a child, causing a bit of fruit filling to push out against the side of her cheek. Nadia giggled at herself as she wiped the side of her cheek with her finger and licked it clean. Today was going to be a great day!

~~Gail blinked a few times in surprise at the kindness of her boss. From where she stood in life, most of the time, her bosses gave her hell for things not being busy, as if it were her fault. This was a nice change already, but she could tell the other girl she was to be working with was a little... how to say it? On edge, for some reason. I mean, we got yelled at, but it's really obvious he was joking, if not earlier but for sure by now... The woman shrugged off the thought and let her eyes wonder over all the baked goods that were already made before she looked back down at the recipe book. I think this is going to be a good new start, here on this island...

ββββπΡΞΉΡΟ ΙaΟ»ΡΡΞΉββββ β Xeiro began to chase after the girl, "Ma'am, it's free today! Damn, she's gone..." He walked back into the shop and slid the money into the tip jar. "Well, I guess that will go to our tip jar." He chuckled and walked back over to the counter.
β He smiled at Gail looking at the recipe book, "You can make anything you want, Gail." He then glanced over to Mariella, "Yeah, I love to bake. So, if you ever just don't wanna come in I've got it covered. As I'm sure you can both tell, I'm very lenient." He laughed, "and I love to laugh. I hope I didn't offend either of you earlier, I just couldn't resist." He walked behind the counter and straightened the food laying out. "It's starting to cool down. Take as much as you want, Fleurette, Kade, girls." He nodded at them all and disappeared into the back.

~~"Hm?" the woman blinked up from reading over the pages. Anything? she thought to herself before smiling softly and glancing over the recipes, "Oh... okay... but I still like looking at recipes I've never seen before... I think there is just something so interesting, the combinations of basic good people put together, that I never would have thought of, to make such delicious things..." Just thinking about the delicious sweets and breads warmed the woman's heart a little as she still fantasized what it would have been like if her first and only true love stuck around all those years back. How marvelous it would have been to be just a housewife all of her life.

"Offend? O-oh no, of course not," Mariella tried to assure him with a smile. Her speech was still soft and clumsy, as usual. He quickly disappeared, heading to the back of the restaurant leaving her with her coworker and a few customers. Gail seemed to be looking through a recipe book, leaving Mariella to wonder about some culinary creations of her own.

When the rest of the bakers and another customer popped in, Kade had let those few converse while he caught up with Fleurette and those tasty pastries~! It was nice to get out with a friend β Kade hadn't done much but stick around at home on his own or followed after Yoakim everywhere he went! He was starting to become as reclusive as Ellie usually was! Or so he believed, but, regardless, getting out with Fleurette was a fun reminder of how much he liked hanging around town. Most of his stories revolved around the blacksmith and what he saw on television, him steering carefully around some aspects that were always better kept private, like that little fight they had awhile back, but he was adamant on informing her that Kim didn't care about Christmas and how sad that was! He was sure Fleurette would understand his own reasoning there, not that he gave the girl much room to comment, but when did Kade ever do that? At least he stopped a few times long enough to ask her on what she was up to, outside of work! He doubted she was even dating β did Kade even know which way she swung? He was pretty sure she was straight..
Oh, distraction! Kade had turned his head slowly towards one of the bakers as he spoke to Fleurette, his arms moving about animatedly during his talk. It started to slow down more and more as he focused on one such baker β the pink haired one. Now, pink hair was always very cute and he loved to admire a good color job, but it wasn't that that had him looking. She looked pretty familiar.. Hm. He soon stopped talking altogether, moving himself to stand at Fleurette's side. He gave her a nudge after staring at the baker from their distance for an extended period, nodding at said woman to make sure Fleurette knew who had his attention. βDoesn't she look familiar..? I swear, I've seen her somewhere before! I mean, you'd think I'd know someone with hair like that if they've been in town for long, but I don't remember ever talking to her before.. Um, do you know her, sweetie?β He glanced at Fleurette for an answer.

β Xeiro could be heard mumbling in the back, "what the ******** are you doing? Goddammit, Mitsuke. You need to be out here... I'm not above firing my sister..." He rubbed his fingers through his hair and sighed, it was a very bad idea to hire her. He scooped up a few recipe books and took a deep breath, he was sure that everyone probably heard that. But, he didn't need to show any of his emotions to them. He needed to be sure he didn't look weak, although kind, he'd be damned if he watched his bakery crumble 'Haha, crumble. Ironic for a bakery, eh?' So his jokes were lame, but it made him feel much better.
β He walked back into the main part of the store and sat the recipe books on the counter for easy access. "Yeah, some of the combinations are pretty fascinating. I could never come up with most of that." He chuckled responding to Gail's comment, then standing for a second looking at the books, he remembered why he brought them out. "Oh girls, I hope it's no trouble, but I wanted to see if we could make this." He flipped the first book open and pointed to a picture of a sheet-sized "Big O" cake. "I think it'd look great here in the display." He motioned to the empty glass case with a smile then continued flipping through the book. ______________________________
β« Mitsuke stumbled in with a glassy look in her eyes and a wide smile on her face. She chuckled to herself and stammered over to the counter. She could feel Xeiro's eyes burning against her with an awful glare, but she didn't care. Her buzz was still coursing through her veins. "You must be the new workers." She looked up at the two girls and smiled. "I'm Mitsuke, call me Sukey." She nodded at them and pulled her trusty flask out, she didn't care who saw her.

~~Gail just stared in awe at the page Xeiro had flipped to. How awesome would it be to make such a cake?! Oh, she could barely imagine how to do all that easily, but she knew it would at least a little fun to try.
She was so absorbed in her thoughts about the cake to even really hear what Mitsuke had to say. One day you shall be mine fair cake... and you will sit in that display proudly, stating to the world that this is the best bakery ever! Maybe she was getting a little carried away thinking about this cake, but maybe Molly would enjoy hearing a little about it.
"Oh, when do you think we'll start work on that cake?" the excitement could be heard in the tone of her voice as she smiled quite energetically. She had felt a bit drained earlier, but this seemed to perk her right up.

Suddenly the place got extremely busy and crowded. Fleurette smiled. At least some place in town was busy. Not naming any names, but the salon would be better off if it got a few more customers, you know what they mean? People made her a lot louder, and a lot more hyper. Paired with the sugar from the muffin... "I dunno." She said rather loudly in her high-pitched voice. She shrugged and frowned. "I'm pretty sure I'd remember that pretty pink hair too, but... I doubt she's ever been in the salon, sooo..." Why didn't anyone go in the salon anymore! She pouted. It was also kind of Fleurette's fault. She never gets out, or does anything, unless someone, which is always Kade, calls her or something and brings her somewhere. But otherwise it was just work and home and sleep. Oh, and eat. She took a bite of the muffin. With her mouth full, she tried to talk. "Am I fuppothed da know ha?" She swallowed quickly, glaring at the pink-haired girl. She didn't seem the least bit familiar to her... but that was how it was with almost everyone.

Mariella looked over towards her boss as she noticed that he had returned, apparently wishing to show her and Gail something in the recipe book. She approached the two so that she could also get a look at the cake before Xeiro continued flipping through the book. Before she had the chance to think or say anything else she heard the voice of another girl. Mariella turned towards her with a friendly smile, " Y-yes we are. I-I'm Mariella, it's nice to meet you," she softly said.

Ethan Why did he agree to go on a blind date? Why? He had gotten his hopes up for a cute girl name, not with an old lady name. Mitsuke. Like a little old Japanese lady. Ethan could see her now. Hobbling along with a walker with those tennis balls on the ends, squinting to see his bright shining face... Er, yeah. At least the old lady owned- or worked at- a bakery. He could probably mooch a few brownies or something off of her. "Ahem. Er, I'm looking for a Mitsuke?" He frowned, and flinched, not wanting to see the sight of an old lady. He scanned the store. There wasn't any old ladies in here... was there?

A young man entered the bakery, his silver hair almost shimmered as the light hit it. He came in with a black jacket on and surprisingly grey shorts! He had on sneakers and socks and smiled as he entered the bakery. He took a deep sniff of and sighed hungry, the place smelt great. He rubbed his stomach as he and looked at what they had, it had been almost a whole day since he ate, the boat ride here was long from his old family home. His stomach growled as he looked among the pastries and baked good, a small trail of drool coming out of the left side of his mouth.
