Ah, it was that Drifblim. "Newton, dear, I hardly have the time. Would you mind if I collect my Beldum and be on my way?" Scolding and otherwise behaving coldly towards him had never gotten her very far in the past and, frankly, Aila didn't have the patience for games.

Pitre turned a forlorn one-eyed gaze on the console, hoping Newton would be able to stall its trainer long enough for it to play a few solo rounds.

She took a step away as he approached. He had nodded, hadn't he? Was that a "sure thing, sorry to hold you up" nod or a "of course I mind, how dare you suggest otherwise" nod. Or perhaps it was something else entirely, something unique to the Drifblim's thoughts.

"Come on, Pitre. It's time to go," Aila called. If she couldn't reach the Beldum, then she'd have the Beldum reach her. Pitre, however, remained reluctant to part with the brawler.

Aila sighed. At least the pokemon's gestures were more gentlemanly than they had proved in the past. With a mental Oh fine, whatever, she ceded to the hug, quietly praying that Newton would let her leave be after. She scarcely acted the willing participant, though, and hoped the Drifblim wouldn't approve any less for it.

Aila stared, eyebrows raised, as Newton vanished with a strangely high-pitched exclamation. She considered it only a brief while longer before shrugging it off, gathering her grudging Beldum, and proceeding back towards the entrance only to narrowly avoid a collision with a woman and her cane. It only took a moment's observation to identify the woman.

"Ah," Aila said when the name came to her. "Afternoon, Nyx. Your Drifblim was here." Her brow furrowed slightly. "I think he might have popped." It would explain the squealy noise and the sudden take-off towards the ceiling, anyway.

"He went through the ceiling, if that helps." Aila glanced down at the Beldum in her arms when it was mentioned as though she had just remembered it was there. "Oh, yes. I was around Ambergris the other day and a swarm of them came by. I caught this one as a souvenir... or something." Pitre fumed a bit, irked that it was being referred to as an object, then remembered that it practically was an object and settled.

The Drifblim's sudden reappearance was mildly concerning, even more so when he was suddenly pushing something towards Aila's hands. She accepted the paper hesitantly and glanced, even more hesitantly, at its contents. She tilted her head slightly. "Um... Thank you, Newton." I think? She studied it a little more closely, against her better judgment, and a thought dawned on her, "Actually, isn't this very good for a pokemon? I've known adult humans who can't draw half as well." The drawing's implications were all but lost in light of this.

Video games, Pitre had heard her say it! If all they were going to do was stand around and chat, couldn't it go play a little more in the meantime?

Idly Aila wondered if Fleur would take to art similarly if she were introduced to it, but such curiosities were interrupted by Newton's usual tendencies. She sighed with a slightly disappointed sound, "And you were doing so well before." She had an idea then, a dangerous thought. "What would you do if I said to go ahead, I wonder? Could you even properly hold my hand if I offered it?" She extended said hand, the gesture indicating a dare.
