He snorted, though in all honesty, at that point, he was just refraining from telling her exactly what that small, harmless little cat did to the 'creature' that was currently residing in her apartment. However, he'd realized rather early on, that any mention of the green haired youth was going to pretty much send her into a new rage, and he'd only just managed to calm her down; sending her raging anew seemed... counter productive, specially seeing as how he was breaching potentionaly embarasing territory with the conversation at hand and he didn't want to give her any excuse to duck out of it.
When Khalla stretched out her hand, the cat eyed it warily for a moment and then slowly moved forward, giving her fingertips a sniff from his perch on the arm of the sofa. It was only when he'd decided that the blond wasn't, in fact, a threat that he finally lowered himself to the sofa, swiftly climbing onto the girl's lap, seeking attention, "Careful. If you bend to his will, he will cling to you. Forever. He won't let go," he should know. He often time found himself just sitting on the sofa, reading a book as he scratched the cat away; the animal would then refuse to even let him visit the bathroom. It would sit by the door, meowing pityfully until he finally came out and resumed the earlier position, "It keeps coming back, though that might be because I keep feeding him. He even goes as far as taking refuge in here when it rains. He hasn't got a name though," and he wasn't sure the babble Creighton uttered around the feline could be considered a name either.
He offered her the fabric, lowering his hand from her hair as she finally turned to face him, "Well, it's... the floor, Khalla. You can not be serious about sleeping on the floor. I own really old books, and while I do clean, a lot of them are really, really dusty. I don't want you sleeping on the floor," he paused and stared at her for a long, quiet moment, "I seem to recall you said this apartment was not under any sort of specific rule set, unlike your dorm room," a pause, "Would you rather I drive you back there?" in all honesty, he didn't really want to, but between that and letting her sleep on the floor... he would actually get dressed and drive her over. He just wasn't sure he could have dragged Creighton out of there if Amara didn't want him to though, "That said, I don't really think it's comparable, given the fact I don't intend to be anything but a gentleman, which is a word I don't think Creighton knows."

She smiled as the cat sniffed at her fingers and then finally crawled into her lap, more than pleased to have a fluffy little critter to turn her attention on - especially at a time like this. "Oh, I don't mind clingy little critters," she said with a soft laugh, promptly bringing up the hand the little cat had sniffed and beginning to scratch gently behind the one-eyed kitty's ear. "Oh, Rohan, you can't feed it and not give it a name. That's like claiming partial ownership - you can partly own him." She made a slightly huffy noise at her boyfriend before she turned her eyes up to his, but it was clear that she was joking beneath her grumbles. "You're going to have to give him a name, or I'll just help you find one myself."
As he mentioned the floor being dusty and covered in filth from old his old and decaying books, Khalla made a slight face and glanced down as if the floor might suddenly explode into a thousand dust bunnies. She really didn't want to get dirty, even if these weren't her clothes. "I suppose you're right about all the dust," she said quietly, chewing lightly on her lip.
Even if he hadn't been, his next words sent a ringing alarm through her skull all at once. "Oh, no, don't you dare," not only did she not feel like riding all the way back to campus on the back of a motorcycle in the middle of the night, but who knew if that troll had even left yet. She finally leaned back into the cushions of the couch, looking resigned but not entirely pleased about it. This was just so.. improper. What were her grandmother think about her sleeping in the same bed as Rohan? She supposed what grandmother didn't know wouldn't hurt her. "Fine, I guess it won't kill either of us to share a bed, would it? Besides, that's rather normal relationship behavior even if we don't normally act normal." She stared down at the cat for a few seconds more, moving her hands to scratch delicately under his chin, before she glanced back up at Rohan. "But I'm only doing it because you insist." Not because she wanted to get cozy in his bed or anything.

"I'm not very original with names. I just keep thinking of Mephistopheles, Lucifer... Poe, and somehow, I don't think he would appreciate any of those names," as if on queue, the cat meowed up at both humans, looking at them through his sole, gold eye, "You are more than welcome to name him, if you find something that you think suits him," he'd actually tried asking Creighton to name the cat but again, the babble and coos he'd gotten for an answer seemed hardly appropiate names for the feline, "I hope you're ready to carry that cat to bed with you, or have it outside the door, yowling all night long. Take your pick."
A snort followed her words, "Books attract a lot of dust," it wasn't that he didn't clean; he did, really. For an apartment with such a high amount of old, almost grimmy books, it was phenomenally clean, but he still didn't think it was a great idea for anyone to sleep on the floor. Plus, there was also the cat, and the fact he should probably do some major spring cleaning. The cat, which had been nuzzling the girl's hand, finally saw it fit to press himself against her bossom, purring a lot like a miniature motorcycle; apparently he thrived on attention, if his actions were any indication.
He watched, bemused, as she practically jumped in the air, horrified by the idea of having to leave, "Fine, fine," he lifted his hands, as if in mock defense, to show that he wasn't, in fact, going to drag her back in any way, shape or form, "No, it will not kill anyone, and... no we do not," and just whose fault was that? Partially his, partially hers. In all honesty, they were an extremely awkward couple, given that just a simple touch seemed to make both of them nervous. He hadn't even started trying to adress anything beyond a simple touch; that's how horribly pathetic they were, "Oh? Just because I insist? No other reason whatsoever? Now I'm just curious, because that begs the question of just what you would do if I insisted hard enough," granted, he was talking in general, and thus being horribly innocent here, not that he noticed the context of the words, "At any rate; are you tired?" something told him this was going to be a long, long night.

She stared down at the little cat where he was pressing his head against her chest in an attempt to get attention, her hand all the while scratching behind his ears or under his chin. "What about Uno?" she said with a little tilt of her head, staring down at the one golden eye of the feline critter. "Plus, I actually don't mind animals sleeping with me. My grandmother used to have this little mutt when I was a kid, he always slept with me at night." Then again, the thought of the three of them in bed was kind of.. interesting. It was going to be one big adventure to say the least.
"No, no other reason," she said with a little determined purse of her lips, glancing at him sideways as he asked her what she would do if he had insisted hard enough. "You were insisting fairly hard, and I gave in. That's what happened." Anything else was completely lost on her.
She leaned her head back a little and yawned slightly as he asked whether or not she was tired. "A little," she admitted finally, stroking her hand down the cat's back, "but I don't know if I'm tired enough to sleep just yet. It has been quite a long day though." She had spent all day doing volunteer work and then all the fighting with Amara had been extremely tiring. It wasn't exactly late yet, but it was reasonable that she was starting to get a little sleepy.

“Uno?” he blinked for a moment, “Why would you ever name anyone a name means ‘one’?” of course, the cat then turned it’s head towards Rohan and let out a long, pleasure-filled meow as Khalla scratched behind it’s ears, “Oh. Right. His eye,” a pause as he pondered it over, “Well, if you like the name, I wouldn’t mind giving it to him,” at the end of the day it was going to be hard to get stop using ‘cat’ no matter what name she picked. Besides, for some odd reason, it felt dumbly important to let her pick a name she was happy with, as if that small, simple pleasure would somehow make up for the horrible afternoon she’d endured.
Rather than comment, for a long moment, he just looked at her. It wasn’t until the irritation vanished from her features, and he took a moment to tilt his head, “You know. I was more referring to the fact it’s not that big a bed. And you’re going to have the cat in there too now,” not that he looked entirely too put off by it; he didn’t really move a lot in his sleep, so unless the girl kicked him out of the bed overnight (which would have been almost amusing, if Rohan had paused to think about it more deeply anyhow), he doubted there would be much or a problem, “Of course I insisted. It wouldn’t have been particularly.... gallant to let you take the floor or the sofa, Khalla. I’m sorry I don’t have another bed to offer you,” then again, this wasn’t exactly gentlemanly either, but the pros out-weighted the cons in this particular situation.
“A little,” he repeated, almost as if to give it a tiny bit more importance by doing so, and then he got up from his place on the couch and offered her a hand to help her stand, even if she didn’t really need it, “You can read a book then,” if she hadn’t noticed, he had plenty, “Or talk; either way, it’ll tire you out in the end.”

"See?" she questioned around a small yawn, fighting a smile as her mouth closed once more, "he likes it." She gave the cat another round of pleased scratches beneath his chin, just to show her pleasure at having been proved right. No cat should just be called 'cat' - they all deserved a name, even if they weren't super original ones.
"Well this apartment isn't that big, it'd be ridiculous for you to have another bed crammed in here somewhere, now wouldn't it?" She laughed slightly as she glanced around, trying to picture where he would have room for one. Maybe a tiny cot in the kitchen, but somehow she didn't think he'd even let her sleep on that, so what would be the point? She only turned her attention back on him when he stood and offered her his hand. She was about to take it and jump up to follow him when she realized.. he was leading her to bed. Something about that set her heart back to racing and turned her pale cheeks a fiery red.
"We should go on a picnic tomorrow," she blurted suddenly as she tucked Uno under one arm and cuddled him up against her chest so she wouldn't drop him when she stood. Her other hand she placed in Rohan's (mindful of the way shivers ran up the outside of it and to her elbow) then stood and smiled shyly at him. She was so utterly hopeless if she thought cuddling in bed with her boyfriend in a pair of overgrown pajamas was scandalous - somewhere in the back of her mind she knew that too.
She glanced around at all the books laying around at his suggestion, then with a smile she cuddled Uno up closer to her chest and did her best job at giving Rohan one of those 'cutesy' begging looks. It probably just came out all smiles and wide eyes, not too unlike her usual expressions. "What if you read to me instead?"

O....kay?
Rohan was not entirely sure how her mind had gone straight from cat to picnic, nor how she'd arrived to that conclusion. So thus, for a full moment, he stood blinking down at her, as if caught off-guard, "A picnic?" he didn't sound horrified by the idea; in fact, the way he said it almost seemed like he were tasting how the word felt when he said it out loud. Almost as if voicing it would make it a touch more real, "I'm not sure what brought that idea forth. but if it's a picnic you want... I'd be happy to indulge. It might probably mean riding my bike to where ever you wish to go. Do you have a problem with that?" when she finally took his hand, he curled his fingers around it and gave her a small tug to help her to her feet.
Now, had he been any other sort of man, he might have used that tug to send her crashing into him - but somehow... the idea did not even seem to occur to him, "But regardless, the picnic sounds nice. You'll have to cook though. I can barely make anything that isn't a sandwhich," the really sad, pathetic part was that he wasn't even making that up. But then again, Rohan really enjoyed a good sandwhich, so he figured that was fine.
To his credit, he did not make mention of the way she blushed, nor how adorably flustered she looked (in a way, that was the pro to having a rather stoic expression almost permanently plastered across his features - he could fake things did not affect him as much as they did). So thus, he tried not to bring attention to the fact he could see the way she blushed, and he tried really, really hard not to show how much the way she looked up at him got to him, "I... what? Read to you?" he'd been leading her down the hallway, his hand still holding hers, and thus his eyes had been off her face, but they returned as soon as he spoke. He wished he'd still been looking forward, because suddenly came to realize that Khalla could pretty much had been asking him for the damned moon while wearing that expression... and he'd have promised her to get it for her on the spot, "If... you want me to," for some odd reason, it wasn't the fact that he was leading her to bed that flustered him, but the fact she was asking him to read to her.
Funny that.
With a slow movement, he opened the door to his room, allowed her in and closed the door behind them, making a motion towards the bed for her (and Uno) to get comfortable in.

She let him lead her down the hallway towards the bedroom, cuddling Uno to her chest as she considered all the things they'd have to do tomorrow to get ready for a picnic. She'd rather go by her grandmother's house than back to the dorm, but that was alright. She could change and get ready there, and cook all the food they'd need. "The bike is fine, and so is the cooking," she said finally, nodding to herself, "as long as you don't mind dropping me off at grandma's in the morning so I can get everything ready."
She paused behind him as they stopped at the door and he opened it for her - smiling as the simple gesture pleased her so much. It was the little things that made her so happy. For all that he could be brooding and silent, he was also a gentleman. She only hesitated a moment as he waved a hand for her to go to the bed, then she slowly crossed the room and set Uno at the foot. Chewing on her lip, she pulled the covers back and crawled up onto the bed. It was odd to be sleeping in someone else's bed but she was sure she could get used to it. This was normal, wasn't it? She tucked her feet under and pulled the covers back up before snuggling under them and leaning back on the pillows.
"Yes, I want you to read to me," she said with a nervous smile, trying not to show that this was extremely new and odd to her - she knew he wasn't that stupid though. "It will make me feel more comfortable. Besides, I always fall asleep faster when someone is reading to me. My mom does it when she's here." She opened her mouth as if she could retract that statement, then shut it again with a small blush. That seemed a lot more childish when she said it out loud than it did in her head, but it was the truth.

"Uhm..." he actually hesitated as he looked over at her, pausing in his task of choosing an adequate book that wouldn't at least... bore her to death, "I'm not sure. Would your grandmother think to smack me over the top of my head with a newspaper if I drive you over in the morning?" after all, he knew they were being rather innocent in their endeavors, but that did not mean the old lady would think the same if he randomly showed up with Khalla in tow in the morning,"If you think I'm safe, I have no problem with that," hell, technically if he hadn't been safe he'd done it anyways.
It was kind of good to know that she had no idea that all she had to do was pretty much look up at him and ask him to do something for him to do it. He was going to keep that a secret as long as... time and effort permitted it. When placed on the foot of the bed, Uno released a long mournful meow, not wasting even a moment before rushing back to seek Khalla's attention by bumping his head against her arm, then rubbing his body there. Apparently Rohan had not been lying when he'd mentioned the animal was clingy. It was still something he couldn't quite understand; the creature should have been feral, since it was stray, or had been before he'd taken it in, and yet... it seemed to adore attention, for whatever reason.
Rohan thought that maybe it was the fact it'd received little to no attention in the past and was somehow making up for that fact. At any rate, when he finally chose a book, and he turned to look at the bed, it did not surprise him to see the animal purring up a storm against Khalla's arm, under her chin when it could reach it, and against her chest; it didn't quite seem to matter, "Should I be, in any sort of way, jealous?" it was his own, strange,d ry brand sense of humor, and apparently another attempt at a joke as he got in bed, mindful of both girl and cat, "I picked out Grimm's Fairy Tales, if only because I think most of the things I have lying around might bore you to death," the pose was slightly awkward in that they were sitting stiffly side by side, so after a moment, he paused and looked over at her, "How... comfortable are you?" he planned on doing something if she responded negatively, but not otherwise - it was his way of asking for permission.

"Oh, well, hmm," she paused as she was considering what would happen if he were to pull up with her riding on the bike early in the morning. It wasn't as if her grandmother wouldn't hear the loud engine of the motorcycle or anything. She got distracted as the cat immediately came prowling back up to snuggle against her, and she moved her arm so she could scoop him up and deposit him against her chest and stomach. "I could just tell her you picked me up from school and dropped me off, to save me the trouble. She'd probably think you were a gentleman then." The thought made her smile, like it was some inside joke.
"Grimm's is perfectly alright," she said, nodding to herself as she watched him climb into bed and lay down beside her rather.. awkwardly. Despite all the awkwardness, she couldn't stifle a yawn, probably because sleepiness was swiftly approaching due to the increased warmth of both the bed and the cat laying on her. It was rather strange though, so when Rohan asked her if she was comfortable, she offered him a shy smile and shifted a little with a tiny shrug. "I suppose not quite?"
She sat up a little (consequently moving Uno a little more into her lap) and glanced over at Rohan to figure out how she could make this more comfortable. Then, as if a sudden wave of genius had struck, she reached over to pry his arm away from his side and snuggled her way against his chest instead so that her head was in the crook of his shoulder. Her heart thudded quickly in her chest for the first few moments, but then the warmth of the snuggling position and the sleepiness set back in, and she just smiled - looking as pleased as Uno did at being in her lap. "Better?" she asked sleepily, glancing up at him with a tiny smile of accomplishment.

Rohan frowned for a moment, though it was a general expression, and not at all directed at her. He placed the book on his lap as he looked, up, "I thought I was a gentleman," then again, maybe killing people with a chain did not exactly form part of the general, gentlemanly course of action. Sharing a bed also probably didn't suit a gentleman's agenda, but... he was only human after all, and he thought he could not be entirely faulted. At least not for one of those things, "I guess we shall have to find out then."
When the girl mentioned not being entirely comfortable, he'd been about ready to move, however, he hesitated a moment too long, and was surprised to see she'd set herself into action before he even had the chance to. He watched the cat protest a little when the girl moved to sit up and then tilted his head curiously as she reached out and pried his arm away from where he'd set it, to the side of his body. He allowed her to maneuver him slowly, finding it mildly ironic when Khalla placed his arm around her shoulder and snuggled into his chest, "Yes," technically this was opening the door for uncomfortable situations and a sort of uncomfortable night too, but at that moment in time he was a bit too busy basking in the warmth to really care.
Using his free hand, he opened the book and sought out a chapter that seemed to appeal him. It was only when he'd found one he was happy with that he leaned back against the bed and tried to focus his attention on the words and the reading, rather than on the girl firmly pressed against him. It was an extremely difficult task, because she'd shift, or wiggle, or even cough a bit and his attention would be instantly drawn to her. However, he soon enough fell into a nice reading pace, finding that focusing on the book was making the situation... that much easier to handle. After all, despite the fact he'd been the one to suggest it, he was still having trouble with placing 'Khalla', ''sleeping' and 'together' in the same train of thought.

Apparently sleepiness made Khalla's nerves a little easier, because she slowly began to forget that she was snuggled up in bed with her boyfriend in the middle of the night. She forgot how improper it was, how wrong it was, and all the little voices in her sub conscience and memory faded as Rohan's voice washed over her. She shut her eyes and smiled as she snuggled her cheek closer to his chest, listening to the words he spoke without even hearing what he was saying. She could hear them rumbling from his chest before they ever left his lips and all of it was so comforting, like the perfect pieces of her private bedtime story.
A small yawn escaped her lips and she reached to give Uno one last scratch behind the ear before her hand snaked comfortably up to curl between her chest and Rohan's side, so her hand was splayed over his chest. With the covers, Uno and Rohan surrounding her, the warmth of the bed was beginning to lull her to sleep as quickly as Rohan's voice was in her ear.
All too soon, her chest began to rise and fall in a slow rhythm indicative of sleep. Her breath ghosted out across Rohan's clothed chest, and Khalla lay there peacefully, simply curled against him. It had been a long day, but it looked like it would at least be a peaceful night.

To say that Rohan was still more aware of the girl curled up against him than what he was reading was the understatement of the century. It was a small wonder that he could actually manage to read without faltering whenever the girl so much as shifted her position or released a small satisfied sigh. It was almost humorous to point out that had Khalla turned to him and asked him to explain to her something he'd only just read, the man would have instantly drawn a blank. He had no idea what he was reading, seeing as he was treating the process as something mechanical; he was reading, but not digesting or actually taking in the words. As a result, he could have been reading some sort of erotic novel to her and he wouldn't have realized it.
The way she yawned was not missed, and he diverted his gaze from the pages for a second to glance her as she readjusted her position. Deep down, Rohan was amused to note that despite the initial fuss, she wasn't having much trouble with becoming comfortable and slowly falling asleep. He lowered his voice progressively the deeper she fell into sleep, until her eyes closed and her breathing deepened enough to indicate he was no longer required to read out loud. Seeing as how he had been paying absolutely no attention to the book to begin with, Rohan closed it and set it aside, on the small table beside the bed.
Uno, whom had curled up into a small ball between them, opened up his one healthy eye for just a moment before turning his head away to resume sleep. Rohan spared the cat only a glance before he let out a small sigh and reached up to stroke the top of the girl's head, very much like he'd done earlier that night. Then, after waiting for a moment, he reached out to turn off the light and attempt to catch some sleep, which he wasn't entirely certain he was going to be able to, what with the fact the girl had fallen asleep clinging to him as if he were some sort of overgrown plush doll.
Despite that, as he slowly rearranged their (and the cat's) position in the darkness, until he was comfortably laying down with her still clinging to her, he swiftly decided that he could get used to all of this. He could be doing a lot worse than this, that's for sure. With that thought in mind, he closed his eyes and attempted to follow after Khalla, hoping that sleep would claim him soon.
