Ashia held the paper with the address in her hand as she walked up to the house, rather mansion , with the same number.
She stopped in front of the gate and the box said: "State Business"
Ashia answered back: " DNA hunting"
The gate swung open and she continued to the door.
Engel hung his coat on the rack and looked at his watch, " Kids should be here soon..."
And just then the door that he had come through burst open and four little children tackled Mr. Girheld.
He laughed a little and told them to calm down and get ready to eat.
His smile faded when they left though, for his day at work wasn't pleasant.
" Don't you tell me what to do old man! "
Bang.
" Brother!"
The little girl's eyes were shining with not fear, but sure hatred.
Engel shook his head and took his hand from his face.

Corporal Wallace said
"WE ARE FU*KING SURROUNDED"
Someone said, the Bullets wizzing by were enough to make you duck for cover.
Explosions all over
Corporal Jill Thomson regretted herself for joining the military.
She took cover next to Sargent Poal
"Sir, where the hell are the Zx-42's?"
Poal looked pissed, we have been defending this area for 4 hours now.
" I have no goddamn idea Corporal just keep returning fire"
She did as she was ordered. and-

Engel quickly regained himself when the children came rushing back to him, asking about his day, what they did today, the news, but mostly happy cheery stuff, which made Engel half-forget about his horrible day.
He noticed there was one child more than there usually was, "so who is this little munchin?" He questioned as he rubbed the boy's head.
" This is Charlie," One of the kids said," His parents...."
The sentence trailed off and Mr. Girheld hugged the boy close.
He knew what it felt like to lose parents at a young age.
" This is your home now, ok?" He looked the boy in the eye.
The boy wiped his tears away and hugged Engel.
Engel swallowed back his emotions and shoved the mass of kids into the small kitchen.
Red sat at the bar, just listening around about how the war was...he was in enemy territory, but no one would notice here, as long as they had money coming in and as long as there was peace inside the place.
"Why can't life be as easy as this?" He mumbled out loud, and a woman sitting next to him noticed.
" Why can life be like this?"
Red glanced up at the commenter, but shook his head and took another shot that burned at his throat.

Ashia knocked on the front door, no answer.
She sighed in a little bit of frustration.
Julie watched the man leave, then went back to cleaning the counter.
" Its all the same here, in this place, but once you step outside...."
She shook her head.
Red coughed a little as he exited the bar, I don't want to get sick..
He pulled his jacket tighter around himself, he was dressed in plain townsfolk clothes, not his uniform of course, because he was in enemy territory.

As the big family of foster children sat down for the meal, Engel told everyone to bow their heads.
The group sat in a long silence, and then Engel clapped his hands together and told everyone to eat.
The portions were small, but they were used to it. The times had not been nice to anyone. Except the friggen upper officers who are selfish and won't even help the people... Engel thought.
He only ate a couple bites, but gave the rest of his food to the kids equally, and they didn't fight over the amount, they were just happy to be fed, happy to have somewhere to live.

A man wearing dark clothing hushed Ashia in the hall of the mansion.
She kept quiet because she didn't know what to expect, and she had manners in these matters. Speak when spoken to.
She was showed into another room down the hall where a man sat waiting on a rather comfy looking couch.
" Close the door Steward."
The servant quickly obeyed.
Ashia studied the man
, He did likewise.
He had rather ashing clothing and on his face was a mask.
Red yawned in another room laying on a worn bed.

There was a silence between the two and Ashia summoned her courage to speak," Sir-"
The man raised a hand and gestured for her to sit in a chair.
She sat in the one closest to the door.
" I've heard of your predicament, and I shall help as I have told you before. We have hints as to his whereabouts-"
"Tell me!"
The masked man raised a hand and Ashia grew silent in her mistake.
He continued," We have hints that he might be in the Downtown area, but you will first need to do me a task before you can get any more information."
Ashia listened.

Engel tucked the children in, one by one, giving each a "Goodnight" and a kiss on the head. When he got to the newer child, he gave him a notebook and whispered," See that? Just write anything you want, and you can sort your feelings out, k?"
He blew out the candle, and closed the door.
But now it was back to work for him.

Ashia watched as the Steward poured a drink for the masked man.
How is he supposed to drink with that on his face?
There was also a cup for her, but she didn't drink it, she didn't trust this group completely. She didn't really trust anyone.
The masked man threw a parchment at her, and she caught it.
" In there, you will find your task, do not be late, and we will tell you more on," He lifted his maks sideways a bit to take a sip," Red's whereabouts."

Julie ended her shift and undid her apron, setting it in her cubby and clocking out of the building. She jumped on her bicycle and set the small basket inside the compartment.
Julie passed rows of worn down houses and pulled up to her shared apartment.
"I'm back." She called out to her landlord, who answered back, "What did you bring back this time?"
She brandished a loaf of bread and a half-bottle of wine.
He met her with a smile and she stowed the things away in the kitchen.
Before she put the wine up, the landlord poured glasses and said to celebrate.
Julie was truely confused," Celebrate?"
" I just made triple my salary today and look!"
He held a kitten up," I found this little guy snooping around in my office!"
The kitten was fragile and must have been the runt of its kind.

Engel threw a small salute to the masked man and nodded in Ashia's direction." Mr,Gerheld...This is who you will escorting to the place." The masked man pointed his head towards Ashia. Now the two were running from the place, it seems they attracted some unwanted attention, and a gang was after them with guns blazing.
Engel and Ashia ducked as bullets swarmed towards them like hornets, except these stung more. Engel pushed Asia onward, he still had to complete his objective or he wouldn't get paid. " Go into that alleyway, turn right at the first crossing, and the doorway to the left is your place!"
He took out his pistol and fired back at the gang. It was some younger,wilder members of the opposing army that had snuck in.. .two member felled, and a cry of rage came.Ashia sprinted past a stop sign into the alleyway. It didn't smell pleasant, but there was a sweet scent as she neared the destination, going right, then stopping to catch her breath at the door.
