Her words were hardly meek, but that was all right. Even when soundly beaten any Stormborn could still dredge up a bit of sass. Gunnar rose to his feet and backed away from the beaten female, watching her carefully. If he'd been Taraxa, he surely would have been thrilled to find a female with such an attitude, with such bullheaded crazed determination.
He wasn't Taraxa though, and he found her both obnoxious and unsettling. He did not want any female such as this in love with him. If she had been foolish enough to return today, in such poor condition, Gunnar gloomily concluded that she would return again to try and challenge him. He could only hope that some other Stormborn would meet her call. The blond lion didn't mind fighting - it was probably his favorite pastime - but he was unaccustomed to fighting the crazy, let alone fighting lionesses that claimed to be in love with him.
If the lioness had won or fought him to a draw, the friendly thing to do would have been to invite her back to the stronghold to see the healers and chew some mint. She was still an outsider, though, and would be seeing no Freeborn healers today. "You look terrible," Gunnar grumped, eyeing the bedraggled lioness critically. "Go away from here, crazy lioness." He paused before adding, grudgingly, "Don't come back until you're healed. You should be in top condition to challenge one of our reavers."

"You look terrible."
Zilly pushed herself up and scoffed.
Terrible, was it? Regrettably, she had to agree. Appearance was was part of her gripe with her siblings; many had the mask of her mother - some could have passed as Xi's twin at this age. Not her. She visually favored a father she'd never seen and didn't give a damn about.
Zilly knew what Gunnar said was with a critical eye toward her wounds and not the blood-stained coat or patterns that covered it, though. "I don't know what a reaver is," she told him carelessly, being so indigent in manners as to tend to one of her wounds then and there. "But I'll wait to come back," the lioness agreed, and no doubt to Gunnar's aggravation added, "Don't think this changes anything. I'm still in love with you, so I'll still come back just for you."

The blond lion kept a watchful eye on the lioness as she stood. She was unhinged, it wasn't out of the realm of possibility that she might try to attack again. Thankfully, she seemed to have gained some sense.
With some luck, she would come to her senses about this supposed 'love', but that was probably too much to ask for.
He nodded stiffly at her agreement. If he was doomed to fight her again, at least it would be when they were both fresh. He wasn't worried about the horrible lioness - ugh, never - but if she kept coming back and throwing herself at reavers, gaining more and more injuries, sooner or later she would surely be killed.
"I am a Reaver of the Stormborn," Gunnar said. "We are the warriors - the ones that go out to fight. And the ones that defend our borders," he added, pointedly. The blond lion turned to go. "One of my brothers would surely be happy to fall in love with you, lioness." He shot back over his shoulder.
Just not him, please Gods. Ugh.
