{Mama, Papa, Myrtle, Felicia and Christopher} Melinda had finally convinced Edgar to let her adopt a little boy, saying that he would make for a good heir since they had no children of their own. Edgar would need someone to take over his law firm, after all. And so Melinda contacted the Metamorphosis Academy, where she was promptly approved and was given a child to adopt.
She was not alone when she showed up, but no, Edgar was not with her. Instead it was Christopher, the family butler. She filled out the necessary documents while Christopher watched the boy she was bringing home. As soon as she was done filling out the papers she turned to the little boy, who she decided to call Tobias, and leaned down in front of him.
"Hello there, Tobias... Mama has a present for you." A grin spread over her face as she held out what appeared to be a carved wooden eye on a string, apparently a necklace. "It's a Mind's Eye Talisman, it's for good luck. Go on, put it on dear." She handed the item to him, grin still in place.
Tobias, being the obedient child he was, took it. But instead of putting it on he merely hugged it to his chest. A second later a white light emitted from him, blinding both Melinda and Christopher until it died down.
Melinda and Christopher stared at the child, bewildered, while he silently smiled back up at them. "A-all right dear... lets go home. Papa will be home for dinner soon." Melinda took one of Tobias's hands in her own and lead him out to the car, where Christopher opened the door for them before getting into the driver's seat.
The drive home was fairly short, but Tobias was still bored nonetheless. He occupied himself with searching through the pockets in the back of the seats or unbuckling himself and then having to rebuckled again. Needless to say, Melinda was starting to have her doubts about adopting him.
Once at the house, Christopher opened the door for them once more. Melinda stepped out gracefully, as someone of her class should, while Tobias practically came barreling out of the car as fast as he could. That earned him a disapproving look from Christopher and a light scolding from Melinda. She very well couldn't show her husband a heathen for a son, now could she?
They walked up to the front door, Christopher opened it for them, and then were greeted by Myrtle who offered to take their jackets. She gave Tobias a once over, and immediately concluded that he was nothing but trouble, though she would never say anything aloud. Christopher then lead the way to the dining room, where Edgar was already sitting and Felicia was setting the food out.
"Love, here's our new son, Tobias." Melinda guided Tobias over to Edgar with a smile on her face, genuinely hoping he would approve.
"What's with those markings on his face?" Edgar looked away from the paper to stare down at the toddler next to his chair. Tobias simply stared back with no real expression on his face.
"I don't know dear, he had them when I came to pick him up... the lady at the desk said something about him being special.. oh it's in the papers, we can read them over later." Melinda sighed, knowing Edgar meant disapproval in his words. She moved to sit down in her seat, leaving Tobias standing awkwardly next to his father.
"How old are you, boy?" Edgar raised an eyebrow inquisitively.
Tobias offered no response, just a blank stare.
"I asked you a question, son. You'd be wise to answer." Anger became prominent on Edgar's face in mere seconds.
"Four."
The word echoed through Edgar's head in a tiny voice, but it was loud enough for the man to notice and note that it definitely wasn't his own thoughts. "Melinda, did you hear that?" He turned away from Tobias and stared at his wife.
"Hear what, dear?" She looked up from her own paper and stared at her husband.
"I heard someone talking. Never mind. I asked you a question, boy." He turned back to Tobias, a frown on his face.
"I said four." Tobias immediately adopted a disapproving frown on his face. "Can you hear me?"
Edgar was silent. "Give me the documents from the school." He turned to his wife, who immediately handed the papers over once she saw the angered look on her husbands face. Edgar ran his eyes over them, scanning for anything that would confirm the voice in his head.
Yes. Yes, there it was... the boy wasn't human. He was something called an Incubus, but it didn't say anything about hearing voices.
"I'm hungry." The voice echoed in his head again, but this time, his wife looked glanced over to Tobias with a confused expression.
"Did you say something dear?" She asked him.
"I'm hungry. Can eat now?" Tobias stared back at Melinda, still frowning.
"Uh... yes... please sit down..." She looked to Edgar, her voice sounding uncertain. Both of their doubts were confirmed when Tobias pulled a chair out and crawled into it. He sat himself down, wiggled a bit to get comfortable, and then stared at the empty plate in front of him.
"Where is food?" He looked back up again, eyes focused on Melinda.
"What kind of child did you get us, Melinda?" Edgar's attempt at whispering failed miserably, since the entire room could hear the fury he put into it.
"I-I... I don't know dear, they didn't say anything about... that." Melinda shook her head worriedly. She didn't want to have to return him, but admittedly it was a little freaky.
"I AM HUNGRY." The little voice boomed in their heads, causing them both to stare at him. "No breakfast, want food. Now." The frown on his face only deepend.
"Tobias that is no way to speak to your parents, Felicia is still getting your food ready!" Melinda gasped in surprise, she had never in her life heard a toddler speak in such a way to his parents.
"Sorry for the delay, here's his food." As if on cue Felicia entered the room and set down some food in front of Tobias.
"Thank you." Tobias immediately started to pick at his food, ignoring the confused look Felicia gave him. Edgar and Melinda eventually returned to eating their own food and reading their papers. The servants ate in a separate room, where they discussed amongst themselves what they thought about the new child that had come to live with them.
The general consensus was that Tobias was not exactly welcome in the family.

{Little Terror} Tobias opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling overhead for a good three minutes before sitting up. He rubbed at his eyes, and then crawled out of bed, and down the stairs to the floor. The door opened, 7:00 on the dot. Myrtle was never late. He stared at her expectantly while she silently crossed the room and fetched him an outfit to wear. She turned around with a black shirt and some pants to wear, as well as a new pair of socks and underwear.
"Go on, get undressed." She stated, staring down at him with hard eyes.
Tobias simply stared back, silently refusing to obey her. It hadn't taken him long to figure out that she hated him, and that Christopher wished that his mother would take him back to the academy. Felicia seemed to be the only one in the house that didn't have something against him.
Myrtle groaned and rolled her eyes before setting his clothes down on the desk. She then leaned down and pulled his pajama shirt off, and then attempted to stuff him into the new one. "You're only making this hard on yourself." She muttered. After much struggle, he was finally dressed. Myrtle tossed the pajamas into the laundry basket and then began to search for Tobias's hairbrush, he had an awful case of bedhead after all.
"Where did you put that hairbrush?" After several minutes of searching she turned to him and narrowed her eyes in contempt.
Tobias pointed to the brush she was seeking, which was somehow levitating next to his head. He then grinned innocently.
"Good heavens!" Myrtle let out a cry that attracted the attention of Melinda, who happened to be passing by. She poked her head into the room with a concerned look.
"Myrtle? What's going on?" She stepped into the room, apparently she hadn't noticed the brush yet.
"The brush... the brush is floatin' ma'am." Myrtle pointed at it as if it were intending to kill her.
Melinda raised a brow and looked to the brush, expecting to see nothing out of the ordinary, but when she saw it just hanging in the air there she gasped.
"Yew gonna brush m'hair Mertle?" Tobias plucked the hairbrush from the air and held it out to her expectantly.
"Th-the paperwork said he would have special... abilities... maybe that's one of them.. go on Myrtle.. I'll take him after breakfast." Melinda seized the opportunity to flee the room, leaving Myrtle to stare at Tobias with wide eyes.
"Yew be'er hurry. I dun laik waitin'." The previous innocent look on Tobias's face turned into a scowl that belonged on someone much older than him. Myrtle immediately snatched the brush and proceeded to straighten out his hair none-too-gently.
"IT HURTS!" Tobias pulled himself away from Myrtle, giving her an accusing look, as if he were suggesting that she did it on purpose.
The rest of the day carried on almost exactly the same as the morning had. Tobias made sure to make the lives of Christopher and Myrtle harder, since even when he was compliant they weren't nice to him anyway. As for Melinda... she never actually did take him after breakfast.

{I'm Not a Freak} At 7:00 on the dot, Tobias sat up, and felt a series of snaps in his clothing. He looked down at himself, still groggy, but noted no real visible change since his lower half was still covered in blanket. He looked to the door, Myrtle had opened it and was starting to come in. She looked up, met his eyes, and then let out a shriek.
His father and Christopher came running to see what was going on. "Myrtle?! Is everything alright?" Edgar pushed his way into the room, Christopher right behind him. Myrtle could only point up at Tobias and shake her head frightfully.
"What?" Tobias's face formed a frown. He looked from each adult to the other, noting that they all seemed to be horrified about something. Worried, he turned to look at the wall, thinking some sort of insect might be there.... alas, there was nothing on the wall.
"He's a monster! A monster!" Myrtle wailed and buried her face in her hands. She had known all along that he was a brat, a hellion, but this was just icing on the cake.
Atop Tobias's head sat a pair of pure white horns which curled forward like a ram's horns. Sprouting form his back were a pair of white wings, both of which had large blue eyes on the back. Still not visible to everyone else in the room, yet another oddity had arrived.
Tobias felt something brush against his hand. He looked down to see a tail peeking out from under the blanket, which also had a little eye on it. "Tail....?" He grabbed it and held it up, staring at it as if it were some foreign thing.
"MELINDA!" Edgar had seen enough, he turned to shout for his wife who was down the hall in her art room. She immediately came rushing down to Tobias's room to see what the commotion was about. "Explain this! You said you were adopting an heir to the family legacy, not some freak of nature!" Edgar waved a hand at Tobias, who cast an angry glare at his father.
He was not a freak of nature.
Melinda stared up at her son, who she barely paid attention to, and was wordless. "I... they... said nothing about.... is that a tail?" She fanned herself a little before collapsing into Edgar's arms, apparently the transformation was too much for her to handle.
"Do you want me to take him back, sir?" Christopher inquired, loud enough for Tobias to hear.
"I am not a freak!" Tobias's loud voice gained their attention again. The boy was staring down at them with a look of such rage, they feared he might try to kill them. "You are my parents, you are supposed to like me! I am not a freak of nature! Why did you even adopt me if you were going to hate me from the start!?" Despite his rage, Tobias never once made a physical noise.
To that, the group has no reply, instead they collectively retreated from the room, slamming the door behind them. Tobias remained in the bed until some hours later, some new clothes were tossed into the room followed by another slam of the door. He then crawled out of the bed, ignoring the seams ripping on his clothes. Once on the ground, he stripped himself and then pulled on his new clothes.

{Hate}
I thought I knew what it was to hate.
I learned a new kind today.
I hate these horns. I hate these wings... I hate this tail!
I want to be normal like they are. They wouldn't think I'm a freak then. I hate them so much! I wish they would just go away... I bet my friends will think I'm a freak too...
I'm probably all alone now.
I won't give in though.
I will make them love me.

{You will Love Me} After the party, Edgar had banished Tobias to the guest house just a few paces away from the barn. It was cold out there, and Edgar refused to turn on the heat, and made sure that Tobias wouldn't be able to do it himself. Honestly, Tobias was thankful for the separation rather than the other option, which he was sure would have sent him to the hospital. He'd never seen his father so angry, or his mother so frightened. Christopher was stone faced, Myrtle had a resigned expression... he was just happy Felicia wasn't there to witness his humiliation. She seemed to be the only one that wasn't disgusted with his new look, after all.
But, enough was enough. Tobias pulled on a white turtleneck, some knee-length shorts, knee-high socks and his white cloth and leather shoes and then trudged into the house. Myrtle, upon seeing him arrive at the sliding glass door, dropped what she was doing and rushed over, flailing her arms in the air.
"What do you think you're doing!? Get back out into that house immediately!" She nearly hit him in the face with her flailing about, voice raised high and shrill. It attracted the attention of Christopher in the next room over.
"Shut up, Myrtle." Tobias slid past her, casting her an angry glare. "Where is Father? I need to speak with him now." He paused, noting that Christopher had arrived in the room.
"He's at the office, get back outside." Christopher responded dryly.
"I'll be seeing him then." Tobias started to walk toward Christopher, but the older man reached out and grabbed his shoulder roughly.
"Go outside boy, you're not allowed in the house." Christopher started to drag him back toward the door, but felt a sudden pull at his legs. He looked down, and noticed that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't move them.
"I'm done playing around. Why don't you and Myrtle go see what's wrong with the chickens? They've been squawking all day long like something's trying to kill them." Tobias stepped away, forcing Christopher to lift his hand off of him. The boy continued down the hall, leaving a mortified Christopher with a mortified Myrtle. The two servants opted not to follow after the boy.
Tobias stopped in front of his father's office's door. He stared at it for a few minutes before opening it and stepping inside.
"Christopher, haven't you learned to knock by now?" Edgar didn't look up from his papers, and just assumed that it was Christopher entering the room.
"Father, we are going to talk." Tobias stated from his place at the door.
Edgar looked up, rage in his eyes. "What are you doing inside?! Get out of this house!" The man stood up, and started to charge at his "son," but found that suddenly he couldn't move at all.
"I said, we are going to talk." Tobias took a few steps forward, staring directly into his father's eyes. "What is it about me that you hate so much? Is it my horns? My wings? My tail? Or do you just hate me because I exist?" He reached out to touch the man's hair. It was the first time he'd ever really been so close to him without getting a lecture.
A look of sadness crossed his face. His captive father couldn't answer his questions while under such control, but he'd done that on purpose. "I want you to love me... why don't you? Why won't you?" his face darkened again. "You had your chance, now you will love me. You, and Mother, and Christopher, and Myrtle. You will ALL love me!"
Unfortunately, that was not what was going to happen. Tobias had not yet discovered the limits to his newest power... Edgar broken free, and brought an open hand across the Meta's cheek. "THERE WILL BE NO SUCH THING!" He roared in anger.
Tobias recoiled, holding his face with both hands. He let out a mental screech that wracked Edgar's brain, causing the man to hold his own head and cry out in pain as well. The pain only made him angrier though, and soon enough Tobias found himself on the receiving end of another smack which caused him to fall to the floor.
"STOP IT! STOP IT!" the screech he projected was loud enough to reach the minds of Myrtle, Christopher and Melinda. All three ended up running to the office, just in time to witness Edgar raising his hand in preparation for another blow.
"EDGAR STOP IT!" Melinda screamed. The cry caught him off guard. He looked up at his wife, eyes wide with adrenaline.
"Get this demon out of my house! I want him out!" He reached down and yanked Tobias to his feet, and shoved him toward Melinda. The woman caught him in her arms, albeit reluctantly, and then pulled him out of the room leaving Christopher and Myrtle to calm her husband down.
"Tobias Imbrie you should know better than to provoke him. Just stay outside." She dragged him along, back out to the guest house, all the while ignoring the silent tears running down her son's face. "I'll turn the heater on, just don't come inside again. This is your home now." She opened the door, and then lead him to the sofa and sat him down. "Tell me what you did." She placed her hands on her hips and stared at him.
Tobias was silent, having come to his senses enough to realize that what he had done was foolish and would of course have the opposite effect. "Nothing good." he finally responded in a quiet voice.
"Did you attack him?" She raised a brow.
"No! Not until he hit me. I... I just--" he trailed off, dropping his eyes to the wooden floor. "I just want you all to see that I'm not.. I'm not a freak. I'm not!" he looked up, finally meeting his mother's eyes head on.
"You are, Tobias. You're a freak. In this world, creatures like you aren't natural. It's something you're going to have to accept. I shouldn't have brought you home in the first place..." Melinda let out and exasperated sigh and went to turn the heat on before exiting the house. Tobias remained on the couch, stifling sobs. That wasn't what he wanted to hear.

{Mind Shut Tight} Mother and Father haven't spoken to me in weeks... Myrtle comes out to cook me food, and restock the guest house with necessities. I've tried reading the books Father has put out here, but they all make me sick.
Isn't there a place they can take me to get these things taken off? Despite running into a succubus at secret Santa, I don't feel any better about being what I am. I want them to love me... aren't parents supposed to love their children? Why did they even bring me home if they knew Father hates demons?
At the same time, I'm angry at them. I hate them for doing this to me. I hate them for making me hate myself, and I'm angry at myself for letting them do this to me. Felicia sometimes sneaks fairy tales to me, I get to read about all the brave knights and warriors.......
but then I feel terrible again... because in all of those stories....
The brave knights and warriors are vanquishing evil demons.
Demons like me.
I know Felicia doesn't mean to upset me, but when she brings me stories like that I can't help but yell at her. She gets frightened and doesn't come back for a few days... I feel bad, but how could she? How could she bring me stories that only make me feel bad? Isn't it bad enough that it's constantly shoved in my face that I'm not wanted here?
Mother says I'll be sent to the academy when I grow again. Will there be others like me? Will they accept me? What if being like this isn't as normal as that succubus suggested, or the babysitter who talked about another incubus that's on the academy grounds.
I'm scared. But still angry.
And I will never share these insecurities with anyone.

{I Wish You Would Die}
Tobias entered his "house," having just said farewells to Zahur. He was happy that he had gotten to spend time with his friend. Even though he had broken down a little, he felt relieved... better... as if maybe, just maybe, everything would be okay.
He headed up the stairs and pushed the door to his room open, half expecting to see Myrtle still there, or at the very least, a clean room. Instea what he found was Myrtle, and his father... holding the box of secret demonic figurines he had been smuggling into the house.
"What is this?" Edgar's face was red with rage, his voice was low, barely controlled.
Tobias froze in his spot, eyes wide. He began to feel himself start shaking, and a strange coolness entered his very core while the rest of him heated up as if he were on fire. "N-nothing..." He replied as calmly as he could.
"NOTHING? NOTHING?! THESE DAMNED FIGURINES ARE NOT TO BE ON MY PROPERTY!" Edgar chucked the box, figurines at all, directly at Tobias. Since he wasn't the best when it came to reflexes the box hit him square in the face, causing him to stumble back a few steps in shock and pain.
"What do you expect!? I'm not an angel! I'm an incubus! Stop forcing these things on me!" Once he regained himself he stepped forward. He was angry, scared, and upset. Tears started to form in his eyes but they did not fall. He would not cry in front of this man.
"YOU LIVE IN MY HOUSE AND YOU WILL OBEY MY RULES, CREATURE FROM HELL OR NOT!" Edgar moved forward, grasping Tobias by the neck of his shirt. He shook him as he screamed. All the while Myrtle remained to the side, stone faced, not a bit of help.
"LET ME GO! MOTHER! MAKE HIM STOP!" The range of his telepathy had expanded with his age, he desperately hoped that Melinda could hear him calling for her. She didn't love him, but he knew she wouldn't let her husband beat their unwanted child.
"SHE IS NOT YOUR MOTHER!" A hand came down across his face like a ton of bricks. "YOU ARE NOT OUR SON. YOU'RE A BURDEN! USELESS! DISGUSTING FREAK OF NATURE!" He was lifted into the air and tossed back down the hallway, nearly falling down the stairs in the process.
Tobias gathered himself, aching all over from the blows, his face red from the slap. Edgar had never been one to guard himself to anything otherworldly, which was probably what made it so easy for him to latch his telekinetic "hands" onto him and bring him down to the ground with a thud. "I hate you. I hate you for existing, I hate you for adopting me, I hate you for making me hate myself, I hate you!" With each sentence he began snapping bones in Edgar's fingers. He made shaky steps back toward the bedroom, eyes filled with anger.
"I wish you would just DIE." And with that, he snapped one of Edgar's arms. The man let out a shriek, and Myrtle was finally put into motion. She picked up a lamp and brought it down across the back of Tobias's head, knocking him out. His hold released on Edgar, allowing the man to get up off of the floor.
They left him there while Myrtle helped Edgar into the house. They called for a doctor to see them, never once even thinking that Myrtle's blow could have been fatal. They wouldn't have cared, anyway. The boy was a demon sent from hell itself to them.
=============
Sometime later that evening Tobias woke from the unconscious state Myrtle had put him in. He blinked his eyes slowly, vaguely wondering why the back of his head ached the way it did. A few moments passed and he remembered what had happened. He pushed himself up, fighting the dizziness it caused. Zahur... he had to call him... he had to try and speak.
He fumbled with the phone, and then the piece of paper in the box... thankfully Edgar hadn't seen that. He dialed the numbers and then held the phone to his ear.
The other line picked up, thankfully it was Zahur himself and not his father, otherwise Tobias probably wouldn't have been able to force his voice to work.
"Z-Zahuur... I n-need you... h-he f-found them..." The words were so hard to form, his voice was shaky and barely controlled. He paused to choke back some tears. "I tried to kill him, Zahuur, I b-broke his bones... Myrtle hit me, I... I don't know h-h-how long I was o-out..." Another pause while he waited for Zahur to respond to him.
Something about talking to Zahur made it not so bad anymore... he felt darkness creeping up on him once more. The blow to the back of his head had opened up a wound and the blood loss was starting to get to him. At some point during one of Zahur's responses he slumped forward, dropping the phone, unconscious once again...

{What have I done?} I...
I woke up on my bed... my head ached and I was bigger... I wasn't sure what had happened... it took awhile for the memories to come back but Father...he found the figurines and I thought he was going to kill me.
But I fought back and I really hurt him. And then black.
I went inside the main house... everything was quiet... no one was doing anything, but it was far too late in the day for that. I went into Father's office.
There they all were...
Mother, Myrtle and Christopher were all tied up, lying on the ground... holes in their heads from the bullets Father had fired. He was lying on the floor too, a bullet through his own head. There was blood everywhere...
What have I done? I didn't... I didn't mean it! I didn't really want them to die, I just... I just wanted to have what everyone else has.. a mother and a father that loves me. I didn't mean to make him kill them... it's all my fault... they're all dead and it's all my fault.
Apparently I have a brother, too... they were going to adopt him that morning... he arrived and I wasn't sure what to do.. he saw everything... and he didn't know that it was blood so he tasted some. We barely made it to the academy. I haven't left the guest house since the secret Santa thing so I haven't been very active... I thought I was going to die on the way there.
What would have happened if I had stayed? Avon said the police had already contacted the school, looking for me. They know I did it... they're going to kill me, I'm sure. I bet a lot of humans think that creatures like me are disgusting and evil. I wish I weren't an incubus... maybe if I were an angel they would have loved me. M...maybe they wouldn't be dead.

{Reset Button} Avon hated the lab. It was never a good thing if anyone was down in it. It’s aura reeked of despair and anguish. The walls screamed at the atrocities it had seen before. Like his own creation. This wasn’t supposed to be his job, this was supposed to be the doctors’ jobs, but like most humans, they were long gone and couldn’t be counted on. Well, he couldn’t even remember if they were human, but he did know that he never really liked them, but that could have been that he could sense their abandonment from early on. Or perhaps that he was a forced Elder, and the process was so painful that he would never be able to forgive them for doing such things to him and the other elders. Or even still that he was hidden away from the rest of campus, forced to silently pull strings around until he knew his oppressors were long gone.
But here he was in this god damned place rooting for those god damned vials. He knew this was the best action now. With the combined efforts of Nova and himself he was able to smooth things with the humans, and now it was time to deal with the mess they had created to begin with. He snarled to himself as he tossed boxes aside. If he didn’t have this place so much he’d take the time to organize it. Perhaps he could get a teen meta to do that for him, have Deskri repaint the place, and then maybe it could be put to use again.
But not right now. Now he needed those vials. He knew they were here, what they were in, but the exact location was still fuzzy. He toppled over more boxes, stomping on a few to ease the increasing tension. Then, under how many layers of dust, he was not certain, he found the thin black case he had been searching for. It was locked, but not very well constructed and easily popped off, revealing what he was looking for. He snatched up the vials and hurried out of the place. And yet, even with this feeling of satisfaction washing over him, he knew the hardest part was yet to come.
————
Avon worked quietly in the nurses office as he waited. He had contacted Enosio and the two teens in question, Tobias and Zahur. He clicked a vial into an injector, slightly sickened by the sound. No, it was no time for weakening. This was for the best. He sighed, rubbing his temple before grabbing the second vial and inserting it into it’s own injecting device. He sat them on the counter, and waited for them to arrive.
It seemed like it took forever, but a knock finally came on the door. Avon took in a deep breath. It was time.
“Come in,” he said.
The door opened, and it broke Avon’s heart to look upon those two. There was no life in their eyes, the whole ordeal had stripped away any will to do anything now. The guardian of Zahur, Enosio, looked no better, but he seemed full more of dread than nothingness. Avon shook his head.
“As you know, Nova and myself were able to smooth things out with the humans. While tension is still high, there are currently no more threats going about,” Avon began, looking at the two boys, who remained silent with their half vacant gazes. “Now, it’s time we work on fixing the damage they caused you two. I have formulated the best solution, but over all it is your choice.” He picked up one of the injectors, which instantly gave the guardian discomfort to look upon.
“Neither of you were around when it happened, but Meta were struck with a disease which reverted their age and erased their memory,” Avon explained. “In these vials are liquid containing this same disease.” He then looked at them, a serious look on his face, though in his eyes reflected a sadness of what he was going to do. He already knew their answer.
“I am going to tell you now, this is basically a lethal injection…” Avon said solemnly staring at the two emotionally empty teens. They did not react to this news, just stared at him blankly. The father of the one however, tensed up in horror. Avon raised his hand to tell the man to wait as he continued to explain. “This will make you children again, make it so you don’t remember a thing. It’s a whole new start, a redo button if you will. However, in theory, the people you have become will be gone forever. They’ll be dead.” He explained, looking at the two of them. They looked at each other sadly.
“I’m sorry it had to come to this,” the sunkissed one said softly. The other much more pale one took his hand shakily. “No, we talked about this. We are both to blame.” he replied. The first wrapped his whole body around the other, and they hugged each other tight.
“I just hope,” the first said softly. “That after we go through with this, we can still be friends…” The other didn’t respond other than with a nod and a slight sob. They clung to each other for a while before Avon coughed and motioned to the back room of the office.
“Then, if you will head back with me, we can begin”

{Happenings} [Child]
I have a family now. Mr. Avon wasn't very sure they would take me, but they did. Mom insists that even though they didn't know that they were going to be asked to take me in that they love me anyways. Dad doesn't talk a lot. It makes me worried. Why won't he talk to me?
I talk to them, even if its just with my head. I don't want to use my voice.
Mom said there was some killings going on in town, so I can't go out there by myself. That's okay. I don't want to go out there. I don't want to leave my room. Its safe in my room. No bad.
I see things, lots of things... eyes, watching me everywhere I go... but they stay out of my room. I don't like them. And the mouths... the mouths are almost worse, they just... swallow everything up. I'm scared, I don't want Mom and Dad to know because what if they don't want me anymore?
I'm scared.
