Ameline was glad she saw a change in the colt's temperament. "That it is! It effectively scared an Angeni." She nodded her head proudly. It was quite a sight, the first time she met Moam. His expression was frightened when he saw this pink thing pop out from a pile of leaves.
"How do you fair so well out here? Your as young as me!" She stated, giggling at the fact. Karloff definitely had the personality of a much more mature soquili.

"Really? That's impressive! It was probably the very pinkness of you!" He smirked again.
"Just do." How did one do good by themselves? He'd always been alone....and practice makes perfect right? He'd had plenty of practice. No one ever stayed around with him, no one cared enough to.
He'd been alone a long time, it wasn't as easy to interact with people now. It was moments like this that he felt it more keenly, when he'd been alone so long.

She nodded and bared her teeth, trying to seem scary. Ameline gave a little snarl that ended up sounding more like squeaky snort than anything.
"Well you definitely seem well equipped to handle yourself on your own." She wished she could be as tough as him. Ameline was more of flight instead of flight girl, but that's due to the fact that Moam told her it was better to until she was older.
Ameline shifted her feet shyly. "You know, if you ever needed someone to keep you company, you can always call on me and my guardian!"

Karloff laughed at her "snarl", it was just the funniest thing he'd ever seen. But his smile faltered when she said that he could always be a friend of theirs, he didn't want to endanger her. But he wanted a friend, he wanted to have someone who could make him laugh.
He tried to explain it, "Things happen to those I know....I don't want things to happen to you or your guardian."

She gave him an odd look at his worry. "You know... your only about as old as I am. It's not very fair for you to have to be on your own because your afraid of hurting someone." Ameline spoke very slowly, she didn't want to upset him. She wanted to make it clear he was welcome and she wasn't afraid.
She tried to start sounding more upbeat, but she couldn't help as the sadness still entered her voice, "And believe me, he's a big, strong Angeni. If anyone can protect you, he definitely could." No foal should worry this much to have companions...
Ameline walked a little closer, trying to read this closed up foal.

Karloff flinched. Half of him had hoped that he had run instead of having to leave now. How could he leave her, she as asking to be a friend. She understood what it was like to wear something you were not. She understood him, but did that give him the right to endanger her?
It didn't. "Is he really that strong?" Maybe it would work, if she didn't leave her Moam. If he protected her. "He can keep you safe enough to be my friend?"

The flinch did not go unnoticed to the small, pink foal. Ameline slightly hung her head, thinking the complete opposite of what Karloff was meaning. She should have known her friendship would be unwanted. Too loud, too obnoxious... too pink.
At his questioning, she lifted her head. Maybe it wasn't because of her personality after all. "Of course he could. Moam can take on any opposition, any day!" she gushed about him like he was her older brother. Ameline's face turned serious once again, "What exactly is so dangerous about you?" she finally asked.

Karloff sighed rather dismally, "Everyone I know gets hurt...or they leave." He looked off for a moment, "That seems dramatic, but it's what I know. Everyone...always. I don't want something to happen to you because you're my friend. It wouldn't be fair."

Ameline blinked her eyes rapidly. Friend? He can be my friend? This made her extremely happy. Not many call her a friend and it was a nice change. Allowing a small smile to creep on her face, she spoke with as much maturity as her little body could muster, "It's okay, I understand." She didn't want him to feel pressured at all.
"As long as you really can be my friend that is! But honestly, you don't have to worry about me leaving. I will always want to be your friend or be around you. And as for the danger; I'm tough and I make my own decisions." She put on a lopsided smile and puffed out her chest. "After all, we are so much alike!"

Karloff was exasperated and excited. Despite it, she wanted him to be her friend. "Your friend! I can't be though. What if you get hurt because of me? It would be my fault...." He shook with the thought of it. "Are you really sure...you'd risk that?"

Ameline didn't have to think too long to come up with an answer, "Yes I would be willing to risk that. Friends are more important than danger to me." She allowed a smile to spread across her face. " Besides, its my decision. If I get hurt because of my own choice then so be it."

Ameline thought for a moment about what he asked. "Hmmm... No it still wouldn't be your fault. You wouldn't mean for anything to happen, and I'm sure you wouldn't go out of your way to hurt me." She continued to stare at him, what is he hiding?

Karloff hadn't thought of it that way before, "So we can just be friends? And it won't be my fault if something happens, you'll just be there for me?" It was a new concept struggling within him.

Ameline rolled her eyes and just giggled. "Of course silly! Thats what friendship is about." What a strange foal. She had never met one less eager to be friends.
