"That's stupid.... they are missing out." She smiled at Nessie, slapping the water with her tail as well. Why would anyone leave her? That's so horrible for someone to leave anyone.
Ameline was taken aback by her comment. Monster? No... not at all. Unique and different yes, but not a monster. "Monster?! Your not a monster, and It's their loss anyways."

"And why am I not a monster? You have experience in the matter?" She slapped her tail in the water a bit off-handedly. "I'm a freak. Look at me!" Her voice was low, and tired. "I'm hideous. Big teeth, mutations...some kind of odd freak in this world. It's no wonder they leave."

Ameline giggled alittle bit and wagged her tail above the water, gesturing at it with her eyes. "Of course I have experience with it. My body can't decide if it wants to be on land or in the water. At least yours picked somewhere!" she smiled. She really was kind of a weird little pink thing.
"Your not a freak, your unique. Oh spirits, that rhymed! Its a good thing to be unique because being normal and plain is soooooo dreary."

Nessie laughed, she really was a cute little thing. "I wish I could go on land, it would be nice...I could hide if I wanted, I could escape instead of being confined."
She splashed the water again, "Well, you're certainly not dreary."

"That makes sense... but at least you don't have to worry about freezing! Oh, And you don't have to get burned by fire! Fire is very destructive." She nodded to herself. Ameline could remember a time when there was a fire in the tree's. A bunch of two-leggers were shouting and running around it. "Unless... can fire occur under water?!" Her naivety made her panic and search the waters for an orange glow.
Ameline popped her head out of the water again and gigged, "Your not dreary either." She felt comforted by older females presence. Until then she had only met males. She gently swam closer to Nessie, nudging her with her muzzle.

Nessie was rather comforted by the small, little nudge. It was nice to have someone who wasn't scare, who showed her compassion unconditionally. Through the eyes of a child...A child, her mind wandered where it shouldn't. She couldn't ever have a child...but maybe one day.
She shook the thought out of her head. "No, there's no fire under water. It doesn't burn. But I've seen it once, on top of the water. It was very bad. There was something black and oily in the water."

Ameline watched the mer's attention wander a tad and knew that she was thinking of something. She sneered when Nessie spoke of the substance. "Yuck, that sounds discussing... and yet, i wanna see it."
She looked up and down her new friend, I bet she's seen and done alot... Curiosity once again filled the tiny foal, and she couldn't help as a flood of questions spilled out of her. "Have you ever seen a shark? Or, oh, an ALLIGATOR!? How far have you swam? Have you ever witnessed a WATER-TORNADO?!" She had to kick her legs vigorously just to be able to keep herself afloat. She was bursting with energy and excitement.
The noise of her tummy rumbling interrupted her next round of questions. "Hmm... we should probably eat soon..."

Nessie laughed, the foal was really too cute. "Well, n o, I've never seen a water cyclone. But I have seen a shark and alligator. I've only swam this area, I mean...I can't leave." She laughed again as she heard the foal's tummy grumble. "Do you know how to fish?"

Hearing the word shark scared Ameline. She had heard of them before, but had never seen one. Her protector Moam had spoke of seeing the fin of one when flying overhead. Describing their looks to her, he had advised that if she ever saw one while swimming, that she should leave immediately.
"A...a..a.aaa SHARK!?" she squeaked, hiding everything but her eyes and nostrils under water. After a few minutes of calm she raised her head back up, "How did you escaped? You know those are very dangerous!" she mocked Moam's tone.
Ameline shook her head, "No, I've never fished before. Will you teach me?" she asked in a non-pleading voice. She didn't want to bother Nessie.

"It was only a small one. More scared of me than I of him." She smiled. "But you should run, they're not very nice."
She couldn't help but smirk at Ameline's face. "Sure." She swam out deeper, without any effort. "Can you move fast under the water?"

She knew she couldn't swim very fast, but she wouldn't let that be an obstacle in this challenge. Ameline swam over by Nessie and wagged her tail excitedly. "You bet."

Nessie laughed her throaty laugh, "Let's see what you've got!" She propelled herself forward, watching over her shoulder to make sure Ameline was okay. She had a feeling that she probably wasn't as good of a swimmer as she said.

Ameline struggled to keep up with Nessie, her little legs kicking madly to try and swim faster. However she kept her goofy smile on and was clearly enjoying herself. She was sure one day she can be able to keep up with the fastest of them.

Ameline grew wide-eyed at Nessie's comment. "You mean it?! Ah i can't wait for my sharp teeth and fins to grow in! Why does growing up have to take so long?" A small glimmer caught her eye and she swiveled her body to give chase to the fish.
