White light, a ringing in his ears, the thrum of his pulse echoing in his skull. A punch right to his face. Taranis was looking for a fight and now, he'd gotten one. All of that pent of anger Castor felt at his relationship with the negaverse general came out in a wordless battle cry as his own hand reached out to grab something, anything. With one hand broken he couldn't do a traditional punch back.

Grabbing Taranis's ascot however, Castor could still headbutt. "At least you have Magellan back!" He tasted copper. The punch to his face had split his lip. "Unlike you I can never have Lina!"

The head butt sent Taranis staggering backwards. Bright bursts of light clouded his vision. "You never should've gone after her in the first place!" he spit, throwing himself headlong at Castor. Clenched arms wrapped around the boy's torso, tackling him to the soft sand of the playground.

Taranis worked himself on top of Castor, pinning his good arm with a bent leg. He shot a right hook at Castor's face. Then a left. Then a right. Blood spray patterned his knuckles, but he didn't stop. Taranis had tried reason. Now he was giving into something else.

******** his broken hand. ******** his love life. ******** him. Castor was not liking this, not a bit. He knew by the stinging throb he'd have a black eye. With Taranis on top of him, he couldn't do much. His good hand was pinned. He hated what he was going to have to do to get his friend off of him.
Castor kneed Taranis.

In the balls.

Taranis did not believe in an honorable fight. He believed that a victory should be achieved through any means necessary. It still surprised him when Castor chose to break a sacred pact of the bro code by taking a shot at his nuts. A low cry rolled from Taranis as he fell to the side, knees curling up to his chest as some sort of belated protection.

His breath came in wheezing pants, his gut pinched uncomfortably. "You... ********... p***y," he said, breathless.

On the ground, he thought he might not be able to stand to continue the attack. So, instead, Taranis took it to another level. "Taranis Mud Blast!" The ball of wet sand formed lazily above him, and he lobbed it more than aimed it. It was easier with his target on the ground, even as he was prone and weakened to any counterstrike. The ball arced high and then began a swift descent directly over the chest of the senshi of hail.

It got in his mouth. Taranis's ball got in his mouth. It was salty, gritty, and purely nasty. Spitting wildly, Castor's brain focused on the fact that mud and sand tasted worse then the bruise that would later be blossoming on his chest. "Augh ******** nasty a**-" He spat out the last grains of sand.
"Stinging storm" He didn't want to cut. He wanted balls. He wanted it to pound. To hurt.

Senshi fighting senshi. He'd hounded both Taranis and Rosalind for this same thing. Only now love was one the line. Not pride. Castor would argue that senshi fought for love. So this fight didn't count. Plus it was over a girl. Fighting over a girl was a totally different set of rules.
Totally.

Hail began to rain from the sky, and Taranis was still nursing a seriously bruised pair of testicles. Each chunk of ice that pelted him added more bruises, more pain, until he eventually staggered to his feet and took cover under the jungle gym just a few feet away. The ice shattered on the metal above him, sending a little rain of dusted ice over the ground.

Crouched on one knee, the senshi of sand snarled and shouted, "Taranis Sand Blast!" Another ball of sand, another throw -- this time, aiming for his head.

Friends or not, the two senshi were fighting for something serious. Maybe it was love, but maybe it was revenge. Maybe it was just fighting because they didn't know how to talk this out anymore. Whatever it was, neither was done. "She's a whore, and you're no better for being with her!" he shouted. Taranis had always liked to attack with his words, even now.

WHAT WAS WITH TARANIS AND HIM THROWING HIS BALLS INTO HIS FACE?
Castor felt it impact and it send him staggering. Something warm and wet ran from his nose. Sand and mud in his mouth again, more spitting. Then words rang out. Bull in china shop? Thy name was Castor. A strangled cry as the hail senshi run into the jungle gym, enraged. "Oh? If I'm such a man whore maybe I should go find your girlfriend huh?" He was aiming low. "Lord knows you don't have the balls to ******** her, let alone make a move." Really low.

And by low, it was most definitely below the belt, in more ways then one.

As Castor came charging toward his hiding place, Taranis came bursting forth, leading with a fist. He very purposefully did not talk to Castor about the physical aspects of his relationship with Magellan, partially out of respect for her and partially because Castor was a gloating ******** when it came to girls. There was no basis for the accusations that the senshi of hail lobbed, but it was a sore spot for Taranis. He was insecure enough without having to face a close friend potentially going after his girl.

Considering she was his reason for being here in the first place? Yeah, it made it worse.

A fist swung blindly, teeth clenching against the hard set of his jaw. "She'd never touch a piece of scum like you! You ******** EVERYTHING that walks -- even the fetid crotch of that murderous Negabitch!" His vocabulary was in full swing even in the midst of the fight. Rage was growing blinding. Taranis was losing his grip, swinging harder and faster with little attention to where he was striking.

It was al all out wise fist fight. With one hand striking out, his other arms blocked, fist useless. ut unless he did something soon, Taranis might kill him. Or beat even more s**t out of him. So many emotions conflicted inside of him, Castor could only think of one thing.
"HEAVENS FURY!"
It was on his leaf hand, weaker, blunt. Aimed at his friend once more.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 07, 2010 1:05 am

His thrown fist connected with Castor's jaw, but it was a feather bumping against the side of a building compared to the inherent force that came with the eternal attack of a sailor senshi. Taranis saw the blow coming too late to totally dodge it. One hand gripped Castor's frozen wrist and pushed off, helping to absorb some of the shock. It helped by inches, but the punch soared in feet.

"Aghck!" It was an explosion of sound, and then a subtle crack of ribs. The senshi of sand went flying through the air. His shoulders hit the sand first, then the second crack as his neck snapped to the ground, followed by the heavy thud of the rest of his body. Taranis was a tangle of limbs on the ground, and they were all limp.

The punch had landed in his side at close range, and even with a weakened hand and even with Castor holding back, it still sucked all the breath from the boy. He was left wheezing for air, legs and arms crumpled around him as if the bones were broken. Nothing was broken, fortunately. But from the feel of it he had several bruised ribs, maybe even a cracked one.

For a long time, Sailor Taranis just lied there choking back the hot, angry tears that threatened to spill. They didn't spill though. His eyes instead appeared glazed. One word escaped his lips and it was barely a whisper:

"Traitor."

The Castor that hit Taranis was not the same one that had made attempts to help the lunars, the Castor that hit Taranis was the confused newborn senshi of a year ago, swinging wildly without thinking about the price for his actions. Testosterone filled angst powered him beyond his limits, the ice on his fist still whole and unbroken. "Don't you ever call Lina a whore." Walking up, the senshi was blind. Blinded by anger, by loss, by love.

Fist raised, Castor wasn't done. Not yet.

Taranis did not know when to stop talking. It had gotten him into countless fights over the years, had seen him shoved into lockers or otherwise embarrassed. "What..." He let out a wheezing breath. "Would you prefer? Evil? A murderer? Your enemy? A kill--" The sight of a fist closing in sent an already beaten senshi back into the corner.

His shoulders tensed, and he preemptively winced, squinting his eyes from what was certain to be an incredibly painful impact.

When Taranis backed into a corner it was like seeing an image of his past. The fear of pain sending him to hide in corner to protect his vitals. The place you scrambled to get to in a fight to save yourself. It was the action of one who couldn't fight back. Of helplessness. And Castor was that close to beating Taranis into a corner. Castor was going to beat someone who had given a wordless surrender. It was not Castor. That man was not Castor.
His fist dropped to his side as anger fell to sadness. Sadness, to a deep gut reaching anguish.

The ice melted quickly, water dripping onto the ground, harmlessly trickling by into the fallen leaves. "I would prefer a world where we didn't have to fight." An ideal world, the world he dreamed of for a year, and clung to like a child. "That's what I would have preferred." He backed away. "Sadly we don't always get what we want."

Taranis opened his eyes slowly. He could tell by the change in Castor's voice that something had changed, that the threat was gone. It took several minutes before the senshi of sand found himself able to speak. "That world doesn't exist," he said darkly.

After all this time, Taranis thought Castor would have accepted that. They only existed because there was an enemy to fight. The more Negas that sprung up, the more senshi that came. Taranis couldn't help, but think the two statistics were related.

One gloved hand lifted to curl around his rib cage. He pressed tentatively and let out a small gasp of pain. Definitely bruised, maybe worse. He wouldn't know until tomorrow. That was how he judged whether he needed to go the hospital: if it hurt the next day. "She has to die, Castor," he said with finality. "I don't know how you two even got involved. If you know her identity, then kill her at school. Kill her while she's sleeping. I don't care -- she just needs to die." The end of the sentence was said with such intensity that it made him wheeze.

The physical fight was over, yet even so, no clear winner was to be seen. They had both lost in one way or another. As Castor back away, he moved to the swing set sat down, rocking gently back and forth. "It was winter." Castor smiled. "My ankle was still healing from when the general king hit me. I was resting when she showed up, neither of wanted a fight and so..we talked." A shoe kicked into the barkchips. "And...I dunno. She was so human then. I was just a newbie. We were young, innocent. The war hadn't really started. Not for us." Eyes scanned the horizon. He could still remember each moment of that night. Vivid and clear. "I kissed her and slowly...realized I felt something for her. Time and time again I saw her, and eventually, I found my heart lost to her. She could have killed me so many times. But...it never came. My feels were returned. But then-" In his hand ice formed as if he was to attack. But it was not covering his glove. It was growing, being shaped.

"Then the war became real. Beryl replaced the General King. Deaths started to roll in. Our love placed us in danger, and we found that the world we so desired, the world I promised I'd build for her, a world without this needless war...Only then did it sink in to be just that." Whatever he formed in his hand was done being shaped. Castor observed it. Fingers running along the edges. "A dream."

Getting up from the swing, Castor was done. Done with fighting his comrade. Of hiding parts of his past. Castor was done. Placing the thing he formed with ice on the pavement he pushed it towards Taranis, unwilling to get close. A flower made of ice, a daisy. Ice was not his sphere, yet it was his medium. He'd formed it from small fragments of hail, calling each one to fall in a certain shape and land in a certain point, all to form a specific object. It had to take full focus to make, countless hours of tedious practice. And it was obvious, he'd done it for her.

"Understand Taranis, she's mine not because she is a general, not because she is a threat, but she is mine because I love her." The flower slowly began to melt. "And it's because I love her..that I have to be the one to kill her." Castor's eyes were glossy. "I have to kill her...to save her from what she has become."
