After Max had dismissed the crew, Cayden lingered on the docks, breathing in the air and feeling how the town had changed. He sighed and started walking down the docks, when ll of a sudden he heard yelling from the nearby ship, and saw a woman running off the ship looking distressed as the crew of the ship laughed at her. "A slave huh?" Cayden had seen this many times in his travels, and he didn't like it, not a bit. He stopped the running woman, gently put his hands on her shoulders, smiled, and said, kindly, "Don't worry, I'm here to help you. Wait here, I'll be back in a moment or two." He removed his hands from the woman's shoulders, walked briskly past her and up onto the ship.

When he reached the deck there were a few confused murmurs, and a few angry insults. Cayden simply brushed the crew off and headed inside the captain's quarters. The captain sat at his desk, not bothering to look up when Cayden entered,
"What is it?! I'm busy! I thought I told you imbeciles I wasn't to be disturbed!" Cayden quickly removed his ornamental, jewel encrusted knife and stabbed it into the desk in front of the captain, who nearly fell out of his chair in surprise. With an angry look in his eyes, Cayden said, "Now listen here, I'm only going to say this once. The girl you have. She's a slave. Now, I know slave trade is legal. I however get verrry angry when I see slaves being mistreated. Now, you're going to set that girl free, or else." The captain was still quite stunned from Cayden's entrance, but managed to regain his composure and say, arrogantly, "And just WHO are YOU to tell me these things? Why I ought to have my crew rip you to shreds!" Cayden smiled and flashed his coat's lapel, which held the crest of The Black Cutlass.

He smiled and said, "My name is Cayden Dante Keystone. The first mate of The Black Cutlass, and sword-master rivaling Captain Maximilian Xavier Castillo. So, if you're smart, you'll just tear up the papers on the girl, and forget you ever saw me." The captain was shocked, to say the least. He scrambled into his desk, found the paperwork on the girl and tore it up quickly. Cayden smiled and left, without another word. He strolled off the ship, down to the woman, and smiled. Setting his hands gently on her shoulders again, he said, "There. You're free now. You can do what you want, go where you wish. You don't have to worry about those men anymore. Keep that money and find yourself somewhere to stay. Live your own life now; find somewhere that suits you." Cayden smiled kindly at her. Removing his hands from her shoulders, and raising a hand to the top of the girl's head, he ruffled her hair a bit, then continued his stroll towards the town. With a smile on his face, and confident he had made someone's life a bit easier.

Feeling a hand on her shoulder as she tried to get away from the ship to do what the Captain told her to do, Trinity jumped and let out another tiny gasp. She hadn't expected anyone to try to stop her, let alone help her. As the stranger placed his hands on her shoulders, Trinity looked up at him, her expression a mixture of fear and some confusion. But as soon as Cayden smiled at her, Trinity looked away and at the ground again. Not really knowing what to do, and fearing what would happen if she ran away and the man came back to find she had left, Trinity stayed where she was and waited for him to return.

She stood there clutching the small pouch of coins in her hands and close to her chest. She was scared and confused as to what was happening on the Captain's ship. It wasn't long before Cayden came back, but it felt like she had been standing there for a long time. She blinked, startled, when he told her she was free. Looking back up at Cayden, Trinity's eyes conveyed her confusion as to how he had managed to get the Captain to let her go. Trinity didn't realize she had been staring at him until he suddenly put a hand on her head and ruffled her hair like a parent would do to a child. As he passed her and continued on his way, Trinity stood where she was, all kinds of thoughts running through her head.

Where would she go now that she was free? She didn't know anyone here. How on earth could that man have made her life easier? Yes, she was extremely grateful that he had managed to free her, but now what was she to do? Where was she supposed to go now? Without really thinking first, Trinity turned and began to follow after the man that had saved her.

As Cayden walked across the dock, heading into the town, he looked around, seeing how the town had changed over the years. The many small shops that had littered the streets were still there, but their venues had increased in size. The streets still bustled with life, but there was something... off about it. The normal happy bustling atmosphere had been replaced with one that had an undercurrent of fear and dismay. After wandering a few streets, Cayden knew something was wrong, there was no talk of anything among the gossipers. Since there was no talk about anything on the street, that meant one thing; everyone knew about what was going on, but no one wanted to talk about it. Something was wrong in Griffendale.

After walking a bit more, Cayden got the distinct feeling he was being followed. He quickly turned around and looked, expecting to see an agent of the mayor's or a crew member of the ship he just left. Instead, he saw the face of the girl he had just rescued. Tilting his head, he asked, curiously, "What's wrong? No where to go? Ah, I see now, this is probably a bit overwhelming for you. Well, I'll help you out. My name's Cayden Dante Keystone, but you can just call me Cayden. What's your name?" Cayden extended a hand out to the girl, smiling lightly as he did. He wondered why she would have chosen to follow him, but after thinking about it, it sounded reasonable. She had just been released in what was probably an unknown town, without any information and no one else to help her. He hoped he had done the right thing by setting this girl free, she didn't look like she would have been very happy staying with that group.

As Cayden moved along through the streets of Griffendale, Trinity followed him. She made sure to stay a short distance behind him so as not to scare him or anything along those lines. She didn't want to make the only person who had helped her in a few years mad at her. Even though she was concentrating on following her rescuer, Trinity glanced around at the unfamiliar town and its people. At the same time, she made sure not to bump into anyone as she was more than certain that she would get in trouble for that. A couple people stared at her curiously because of the clothing she wore, Trinity kept her eyes on her feet and avoided eye contact with the people that stared. When she didn't feel like a thousand eyes were watching her, Trinity looked around to find the back of Cayden's head and continued following him.

That was when he suddenly turned around, causing Trinity to jump a little bit, eyes widening slightly in both surprise and fear at being caught in following him. She immediately averted her gaze to the ground and to the side, expecting to be scolded or something. However, he unexpectedly offered to help her and introduced himself. Trinity blinked and looked down at his extended hand for a second as he asked for her name. Her face became a little worried as she tried to think of how to answer his question. Biting her lower lip, Trinity's mind whirled as she tried to think if she should even answer. But given how nice he had been to her so far, Trinity figured she could at least tell him her name. Then, she cautiously took Cayden's hand and began spelling out the letters of her name into the palm of his hand. 'T-R-I-N-I-T-Y.'

((okay for when Trinity is writing her answers, the text will be in italics with single quotes around it. just to clarify. lol))

Magnus placed the forged papers he had in his pocket as Max gave them their orders. Silently he turned to walk away before Max had even finished his speech.

He never really cared to work with others, so weather Ron followed him or not was purely the pyromaniac's decision. Magnus had his own errands to run, he would not have a hard time carrying out the Captains orders where he was going.

Traveling through the same old city he had grown up in Magnus couldn't help but scowl as he remembered his days growing up in this accursed town. people passing buy seemed to try and ignore him as they moved to stay out of his way, and he also ignored them as they passed. he had some where he needed to go, some where to find information. he knew where this place would be, the only problem was getting there undetected.

Cayden continued to smile as the girl extended her own hand. He was waiting for an answer, and he got one, just not in the way he expected. Cayden had dealt with many mutes before, and knew their ways of communicating. He looked surprised at first, but his expression quickly warmed back up and he said, "Trinity, huh? That's a nice name. Well then Trinity, I would be honored if you would accompany me around town." Cayden bowed extravagantly to her, and brought her hand up to his mouth and kissed it, the way one would at a ball or other formal occasion. Many onlookers stopped and stared at him, a man in such flashy expensive clothing bowing to a slave, was hardly commonplace. a few passing high class citizens turned their noses up at the display. Cayden didn't care what they thought though, and expressed as much to Trinity, "You shouldn't worry about them, they're too uptight for their own good. I'll give you some advice, find the right group of people, the kind that'll treat you right, like a proper human being, and stick with them; find a good group of friends you can depend on. That's what I did, and I've never been happier." Cayden smiled again, still holding her hand in his, waiting for her response patiently.

Even after she had finished writing out the letters of her name onto the palm of Cayden's hand, Trinity did not turn her eyes up to look at him. Luckily, her long hair blocked most of her face from view and hid the blush that came to her face as Cayden kissed the top of her hand. Even though she didn't look up and couldn't see through the screen of her hair, Trinity could feel the stares of people around them who watched as Cayden bowed to her. a former slave. Despite Cayden's reassurances, Trinity was still worrying about what the onlookers thought about them. Her mind began trying to think of something to reply with. She didn't know what to do. The best thing she could come up with for the time being was to follow Cayden, though she didn't know what she would do after that. Using her free hand, Trinity pointed to herself, then at Cayden before pointing in the direction they had been headed earlier. She was hoping he'd understand that she was asking if she could follow him for now.

Nathanial was brooding in the tavern again. He hunched in his chair in front of the glowing embers of a once roaring fire, an empty glass in hand.

The bartender quickly served up another huge German bierstein, which Nathanial immediately began guzzling. The bartender, raised an eyebrow, although he was incredibly used to this behavior. Nathanial leaned back onto the bar and looked across at a group of young damsels, who were all swooning over him. He was about to motion them over to him when in the corner of his eye, he caught a man stealing tip money from the table.

With one quick motion, Nathanial strode over the table and grabbed the man by his collar. “Drop it.” He said with a cold stern voice, his eyes narrowing threateningly. The man did as he said, the bronze coins dropping to the ground loudly as the tavern was instantly hushed. Nathanial dragged the man out of the tavern by his collar. “Well well, looks like I’ve nabbed another criminal.” He smirked as the crowd who then followed him outside, gathering with claps and cheers. Townsfolk around the pier slowly started to peak interest and stopped what they were doing to watch.

“No No! Please! I beg of you! I won’t steal ever again I promise!” the man begged loudly.

With a snap of Nathanial’s fingers, the soldiers on standby outside the tavern immediately moved forward to apprehend the screaming criminal. “b*****d!” the man whispered under his breath as Nathanial walked away.

“What did you say?” Nathan asked sharply, spinning around suddenly at the cowering man. "You better take that back, a*****e," he sneered, his hands around the man's collar. He had the urge to grab the drunkard's head and bash it into the ground. The target continued to cower, this time shaking convulsively.

“Nothing! Sorry Sorry!I take it back! Please don't hurt me!!”

Nathanial pulled back his arm anyways, his fingers cracked, curling slowly into a ball. “You are going to regret ever opening that mouth of yours…” He said before swinging hard into his target's jaw. The man howled in pain and his head hung down his shoulders. Nathanial raised his arm, ready for another blow until he saw a drop of blood fall to the ground, causing Nathanial to frown. “Finish teaching him a lesson.” He commanded with a flick of his hand. “A well dressed handsome man like me shouldn’t have to be soiled by the blood of such a disgraceful lowlife.” he stated openly as he brushed his shoulder in a egotistical tone. He turned away as his men continued to beat down numerously at the screaming man before dragging the criminal away.

Nathanial pridefully strode away, adjusting his long embroidered coat as he walked. A group of women giggled and batted their eyes as he walked past and others admired him from a distance. Stopping in his tracks he ran his fingers through his oh-so-perfect golden hair and threw a dashing smile, extending his hand to the one in front of the group – a short young girl with long, curly black hair. In the back of his mind, he thought almost all women were the same; too easily charmed. Over the long years, he met many beautiful women but never found a gal he was truly interested in since his teenage years. He could have any woman in the whole city that he wanted; which was quite boring to him. But, for the meantime, this girl made a decent substitute to walk with.

Suddenly a carriage wheeled into town, and his attention quickly turned to the girl who stepped out of it. “Ah, Ruby. There you are.” He smirked, eying her from head to toe. She was the daughter of a rich aristocrat. It was plenty obvious to him she only was interested in his charming good looks and his prestigious background, but he pretended like he knew otherwise. She was the current beauty of the town and together they looked like mister and misses perfect. Loosening his arm around the girl previously, he extended a hand to Ruby, kissing it gently before resuming his place in the midst of all the girls. She was just another fine addition to his feminine followers.

=====

Ruby forced a smile as she stepped down from the carriage. It bothered her that Nathanial always had a bunch of whores following him around all the time; but she was glad that he respected her slightly more so than the other women. That would have to do...for now.

Nathanial is mine. Mine and mine alone.
She thought in her mind as she stepped down, slipping her arm around his waist. She threw an icy cold glare at the other women. They backed off a little bit; just a little. It annoyed her that they always brooded on Nathanial, even though they knew had no chance against Ruby Valentina. She was the top gal in the city; beautiful and irresistible. She was tall, noble and had the curves in all of the right places. Ruby could see the lust in the eyes of all the men in the city. It just urked her to know that Nathanial wasn't crazy about her as she wanted him to be. Maybe someday he'll realize what a gem I, Ruby, could really be.

In her mind, she could imagine what life would be like with him. Ruby was already rich and lived a good life. But she wanted more. She wanted to be the most envied woman in all of the city; having the most important man as her husband once, owning the largest and richest estate, and having the power to get what she wants when she wants it while being lavished from morning to dusk. This will only happen if she marries Nathanial when he becomes the new Mayor of the city; which was destined to happen. The mayor had already promised him his wealth and power due to the fact that mayor bore no sons, and his only daughter ran away only to killed in war. What a stupid girl. Ruby thought. It didn't matter anymore; it was a good thing that she went and got herself killed; this gave Ruby the opportunity and chance of a lifetime to be the next heir if she could only marry Nathanial....

Ruby smiled sweetly and placed her chin on his broad shoulders, "Oh Natey, I missed you so!" She said seductively, brushing against him gently. Nathanial only smirked and pressed on without any further comment. Ruby pouted inside as she followed suit, feeling slightly angry at the lack of response from Nathanial.

Ron decided that it was best not follow Magnus. Most of the others here worried about being recognized but Ron was never the flashy pirate that Max or Evee were. While they stormed into combat Ron was the sapper. He like to get behind enemy lines where he'd be all alone with no chance of rescue plant a bomb that he'd made and watch it go off. If he did run into anyone they usually met a horrible chemical based end. The last thing anyone new of Ron was that he was the lost son of the Whiteraven family. So with no fear at all Ron strode off into the city. Before Ron went to the mansion he did some "scouting" of his own; checking out the native population if you will. Hmm, to much hair, not enough hair, legs are too short, arms are too long, hands are to big, that one looks like a man.... damn! where are all of my sweet BOMBSHELL BABES!? he asked himself as he started walking toward the noble district of the city. That's when he saw all of the people staring at Cayden.

Ron casually strolled over to him and then quietly said "Cayden! what the hell do you think you're doing! Look at all of the people staring at you! Do you want to get yourself arrested?"
PostPosted: Sat Nov 20, 2010 7:37 am

When Trinity pointed to herself, then Cayden, then to the way that he was walking, he replied, "Of course you can come with me. I'd be delighted." Then Ron came blundering over and asked Cayden a fairly understandable question. Understandable if you were not Cayden that is. Cayden simply continued smiling, turning his head to look at Ron, while still holding Trinity's hand. In response to Ron's question, Cayden said, quietly, "Well Ron, the people around here know me, and I know them. Unlike you I didn't spend my youth stuffed up in the high society. Though I do know how to be proper, unlike you. Why don't you introduce yourself to this wonderful lady? Trinity, meet my explosively eccentric friend Ron. He may yell sometimes, but he's a good guy." Cayden turned away from Trinity and released her hand.

Looking around at the many people who were staring at him, he simply shrugged; if they cared about the class structure that was their own business. Seeing someone he'd really rather not converse with, he turned his back. The Pretty Boy would probably be paying too much attention to his floozies and 'amazingness' to notice them in a crowd of people. Looking at Trinity, who still had her hair covering her face, and her head tilted down, Cayden smiled and moved a hand to tilt her head up. With a hand on her chin tilting her head up lightly, he brushed some of the hair out of her face with his other hand and said, "There, now. You shouldn't hide this pretty face of yours. Staring at the ground doesn't suit you." Cayden still had the same kind smile on his face, the one he always wore when he wasn't angry.

It relieved Trinity to hear that she was allowed to follow Cayden for the time being. In the middle of nodding in understanding of what she had been told, Ron wandered over and began scolding Cayden. Trinity jumped a little bit out of instinct, years of living in fear, and having people constantly yelling at her. She took a tiny step back from Cayden which pulled her hand free of his. Through the screen of her hair, she could see Ron just a little bit, but that was soon changed as Cayden lifted her face up by her chin to look at him and pushed the hair from her eyes. This was unexpected and Trinity tried to step back again, and when she couldn't, she instead moved her eyes to look away from Cayden's face. She wasn't really afraid of what was going on because she noticed thesmile on Cayden's face was different than some of the ones she had seen in her lifetime. Instead, she was both embarrassed and extremely shy. When one lived the life of a slave as she did, they would understand why she acted the way she did all the time.

Ron did not smile in response to Cayden's introduction. Ron could see the crest on Cayden's shirt and he wondered how the man could be so dumb. Even the girl seemed like a dumb afterthought that Cayden had never bothered to think about. He glared at Cayden "Hello Trinity, I'm Ron the second son of the Whiteraven house." he said to her. "You know Cayden I may have slept in the noble district but I know people and you're putting Trinity in danger by wearing that crest." Ron looked over his shoulder at his older brother and the SWEET GORGEOUS FIGURE OF RADIANT PULL that accompanied Nate. "Take Trinity to somewhere safe Cayden." Ron said before he walked over to Nate. With a big slap on the back Ron said "Hey Nate! It's been a long time hasn't it."

As Max walked Evee towards the mayor's mansion, there was a ruckus going on outside a nearby bar. Passing through the onlooking crowd, Max saw what the disturbance was; it was Nathanial "Pretty Boy" Whiteraven. Max stopped for a minute to see what was going on. Apparently, "Glorious Captain Nathan" Had caught another criminal. Max then saw just how far he had fallen. With the number of cheap floozies surrounding him, it was slightly difficult to see him, but it was clear that Nathan had given his ego yet another boost. Moving quickly as Nathan started to head towards Max and Evee, Max brought Evee off the main street and into an alleyway. Checking to see if Nathan had seen them, Max sighed and leaned against the wall. He turned to Evee and said, "Well, glad to see Pretty Boy's as arrogant and as much of an a** as the last time we saw him. I don't think he saw us, want to get going?" Max smiled at Evee, waiting for her response. Even if she said no, Max was still going to the Mayor's mansion, with or without her.

Magnus was happy when Rob did not join him. slowly reaching a shady Tavern he entered a room filled with cutthroats and thieves. slowly he made his way to the counter, the noise in the room dying as they watched him navigate the room.

Magnus was well aware of the state of his clothes and knew they would never own such nice clothes. A man decided to get in his way and Magnus frowned. "do you have a death wish?" he asked. The man smiled at him a faint odor of liquor on his breath.

"that should be my question" he said eying his clothes, "Some one with money to spend should be prepared to pay a fee in this here tavern" he said with a smile several others smiled as well getting his hint. there was the sound of chairs moving as three men stood to back him up.

Magnus sighed as the group of men collected to face him. others around the room watched but did nothing, opting to stay out of a fight. it was apparent that these men that stood before him might be new to the setting. Already irritated with their last raid Magnus simply twisted his head to the side. "if you want it come and get it," he simply said
