"No," Taranis said suddenly. It was the clearest he had sounded since the youma had first injected him. "Linarite must die, and it will be me who does it. Not Castor. Castor is not an elemy." Pause. "Enemy."
It was surprising even to the senshi of sand when these words left his mouth. He wasn't even sure he felt this way, but even in his drug-induced rambling, his loyalty to Castor came bubbling to the surface. Taranis had seen the Nega and Castor kissing. He couldn't explain that. But he had also seen how powerfully Elzo attempted to attack her afterward, and Beryl too. Why would a traitor do that? Why would Beryl break the hand of one of her compatriots? Surely if she was using him, she would not have done such a needless thing.
Taranis really wanted -- no, needed -- to believe that.
A hissing sigh escaped his lips. "I have to talk to the skirt-chasing philanderer -- that was a good word, I'm gonna use it more -- to figure it out." He patted Polaris on the arm. "But now..." His eyes drooped. "Now, I'm gonna sleep." Without warning, Taranis slumped over into the lap of the senshi of magnetism and, after a few moments, began loudly snoring.

-She couldn't help but laugh a little as Taranis finally slumped against her not dead but sleeping, a sound of sheer stress and confusion.. perhaps even a little fear. Her hand came to rest cupped above his mouth, not enough to cause him any breathing trouble, but enough to muffle the echo of his snores.
Her eyes were barely open as she watched the police and eventually a tow truck mill about the scene they'd left behind. Would it be in the news tommorrow? Witnesses that saw so much were fairly rare, but then mysterious property damage and magical battles were not. She was glad they hadn't brought any dogs to the scene.
When the streets quieted down once again she was left simply with her thoughts, pondering over what Taranis had said. She wasn't sure if she agreed that Castor wasn't an enemy. If one piece of bread in a loaf molded it was only a matter of time until the rest of the loaf was also molded, unless that molded piece was tossed to the dogs before the rest were affected. If Taranis could not do it... and in truth if the tables were turned she couldn't say she wouldn't have trouble... well then others would have to do what he couldn't. She hadn't noticed the soft way her gloved fingers had begun to brush through his hair, as if it were Bodaway sprawled across her lap instead.
The hours were creeping closer to dawn and Polaris was beginning to worry when Taranis had finally woken up. She spared him the embarrasment he might have had by saying anything, instead offering a yawn and a soft wave before they parted ways.
As Aurora Namid settled into a warm bath and watched the sky began to pink she could only imagine that she wouldn't be making it all the way through math class today. But then.. math class hardly seemed like it was that important anymore.-
