Alexis pursed her lips. "Lemme try to find it in my back pack..." She stopped in her tracks, threw her pack on the ground and knelt down. Alexis started rummaging through it. Strands of black hair fell over her face and covered her intent, amethyst eyes.
((Imagine her as really, really pretty here. MAKE HIM NOTICE!! And what happened to violent Ilroche?))

Ilroché glanced down to peer in her backpack just to glance and see what supplies that she brought. The only think he had was his sword and assortment of weapons that were human metals. Crap, he hadn't thought of that. So his sword was his only useful asset? Great. And with his mind Rambo suddenly gone he wasn't much use. Joy. We might just both die... Pushing that thought out of his mind, he peered down into her bookbag again. Only this time his sight didn't make it quite that far. He glanced at Alexis, whose hair had fallen in front of one of her piercing amethyst eyes. His heart skipped a beat and he looked away suddenly a little weirded out. Why did his heart skip a beat? She was pretty, but he thought for sure he was a bit below the whole love thing. But what did he know? Without looking at her, he asked: "Any luck?"

((Of course it does >.> for me at least. I have to think of the perfect way to put it so it sounds right to me. Yes, he'll notice. But it won't be too big of a thing. That's not the way Ilroché rolls. xD ))

Alexis pursed her lips. "Not really..." Then her eyes lit up. "Oh here. Long Island Sound." She took out a map from her backpack. "Only thing is, how are we supposed to read it with our dyslexia and stuff?" She unfolded the map and looked at Ilroche, her delicate eyebrows furrowed. "Something wrong?" He's avoiding me... Alexis felt a pang in her heart. Then she shook it off and thought, What the hell was that? She almost shivered with nervousness. Something's wrong with me...

"No, nothings wrong. Why do you ask?" Ilroché looked her directly in the eyes, hoping to prove his point. Bad idea. She had a somewhat melancholy look in her eyes. Something was bugging her, but he wasn't going to venture and ask what. That was out of the bounds of his business. He looked away nervously and looked at the map. "I honestly don't know. I've never been able to read more than a sentence before the words get all messed up." He laughed curtly. "What good is a map if we can't read it?" Ironic much?

Alexis continued to stare in his eyes, worried, both for herself and for him. Then she shook her head and laughed nervously. "Maybe we could shadow travel to New York City, book a hotel and just rest for today."

Ilroché's eyebrow rose in awe of its simplicity. Why hadn't he thought of that? "We can do that. How do we know that we'll end up in the same place?" He thought of a solution just as soon as he said the question. Ilroché grabbed Alexis by the hand and gave her a small warning. "If I were you, I'd shut your eyes." He gave her a coy smile, but didn't watch for her to close her eyes. He thought of the Empire State building and watched where they were disappear before he could blink. They appeared right in front of it. Ilroché released her hand just barely realizing that he'd had a hold of it. He looked around and spoke "Now, all we need to do is find a hotel, right?" He turned to face her "We do have the money for a hotel, don't we?"

Alexis blushed a delicate pink when Ilroche suddenly grabbed her hand and shadow traveled with him. She heeded Ilroche's warning and closed her eyes tightly. When she opened them, Alexis found herself (not holding Ilroche's hand) in front of the Empire State Building, in New York City. Alexis pursed her lips. "Considering it's New York, we might get bankrupt." She glanced quickly at Ilroche. "Do you have any money? I have $600. Probably enough to buy one room."
((I want them to share rooms, lol. Make things more dramatic. xD))

"No. I don't have any money. I didn't even think about bringing money. My bad." Ilroché smirked apologetically and scratched the back of his head. Had he heard correctly? Did she say ONE room? His eyes widened at the prospect and he turned to ask, hoping he'd heard wrong. "Did you say one room?" Great.... That will be awkward. Hope there are two beds. If not, I'm sleeping on the floor.
((Ilroché will not enjoy that, but sure let's do it. xD))

Alexis grimaced. "New York hotels aren't that cheap. We probably could get a medium sized room with 2 queen beds. Ugh." She rubbed her temples. "Let's go find a hotel." Without waiting for Ilroché, Alexis walked off grumpily.

"We don't have to spend it on a hotel." Ilroché stated bluntly, trailing behind her. He was used to sleeping in all kinds of places besides beds, but he doubted she was. "We might need money later for other things..." He said, his voice fading gradually. The he reasoned, the more stupid it sounded. He wasn't going to mention that he had a bank account chuck full of money here in New York. After all, she'd wonder where it came from. That question was one he would not answer aloud. Alexis probably wouldn't like the whole 'assassination for money' part of his past.

Alexis stared at Ilroche, not knowing what to make of him. He's hiding something from me...again. She shook her head. "We might as well enjoy our time out of the camp and in the big city. It's not often that we get to go out." She paused. "We don't want to sleep in the streets. Plus, it's just New York. It's not that expensive. Other than hotels, I mean..."
((Oh, a coincidence. Was typing "New York" and a car was blasting out "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z. O_O))

Ilroché sighed, giving up. "Alright. But if we need money later and we don't have any, I blame you." He smirked at her in a joking way. He couldn't help but notice that with his other half gone he could enjoy more and worry less about the safety of the people around him. It was refreshing.
