The door opened to nothing. Really it was nothing. Merci frowned a little bit and looked inside but there was nothing there. She put a foot out to step into the nothing and almost fell inside. There was no floor. She shut the door and shook her head. Okay so maybe right wasn't right either.
Dio had helped steady Merci when she teetered on the edge there. He had to admit that he'd been relieved when she just shut the door. He'd no interest in trying to float out into that on his own. Course if he'd had to float out there Reyna probably wouldn't have been in that place anyway.
Merci inched toward the door that was opposite the one they entered the mirror room from originally. If this door didn't work she could try the left one and hope it stood still, but she was running out of options as far as directions were concerned. She put her hand on the knob and tried to pull the door open.

The door refused to budge. She jerked on it a couple times and growled. This place was so incredible frustrating. Merci turned her face toward Dio and arched a brow, "You wanna help me with this thing? It's stuck."
The fiend shut his eyes and leaned over her shoulder. He put his hand through the door and popped the knob from the other side. The once stuck door was now free. He pulled his arm back through as fast as he could and huddled behind her once again.
Merci shook her head, "Seriously how did I get stuck with the scaredy cat." She braced her boot against the door, so she could have both hands on the pistol in her hands, and she nudged the door open slowly.

A flash of silver ran past them before back tracking to the open door. "Well hello there, sweetness~!" Reyna said as she reached out to drag Dio into a hug. Mystic and Hawk had both quite sternly warned her to play nice because of the hard time Dio was having. She petted at his hair and then laughed a little at his attire. "Nice outfit," she told him with a smirk. "And here you go," she replied as she reached out and handed Merci a piece of candy. "Last piece, right?" she asked as she watched all of their surroundings dissolve into mostly nothing but a plain, albeit old, one-room house. "Don't forget to turn them in to the shop for a prize, okay? I promise to get you something good for all your trouble," she said as she let go of Dio and reached to sweetly peck Merci on the cheek with a wink before taking off at a dead run out the door. Time to scare people who needed proper scaring~!

Merci looked at the three pieces of candy and she turned them over to Dio. "Seriously that candy better be ambrosia from the gods for all the trouble it was worth." She pulled out a watch and frowned a bit as she looked at it. "Wow it felt so much later then this. What do you say we try and find Rhys huh? He's supposed to be here at this thing like you and me." She stowed her timepiece as she addressed her shadow.
Seeing the others sounded fabulous to him. Dio uncurled from her and his voice was steadier then it had been all night. 'Okay, but shouldn't they be here? I mean this is where the invite said.' He'd not seen anyone else at all while they had wandered through this crazy house. Well except for Auntie Reyna, Hawk and Mystic. 'Maybe he's outside?'
The fox woman shrugged a shoulder. "This place is empty, so lets go out and we can check alright?" She reached up and adjusted Dio's hair so it wasn't so messed up anymore. "Come on Rainbow." Merci's voice was teasing as she lead the way to the door.
That's right. He was in a dress. Maybe he didn't want to find anyone else. Not that he had much say in it. He hugged his guardian's shoulders and hid his face in her back as she led him back into the swampy landscape outside.

He was an idiot. An absolute idiot.
After receiving his final piece of candy back in the Addams abode, Algie had removed his wizard hat in order to scratch his head. Without a second thought he'd left, so relieved to be gone from that frustrating maze of monochrome mayhem.
Of course he had left his hat inside.
Without a second thought, or perhaps just assuming that nothing would change, he'd reopened the door to the house to reacquire his hat.
"Dammit!!" The swamp was once again a distant thought when the door slammed shut behind him. He was in a dusty, disheveled room that looked nothing like the old-time TV feeling of the Addams house. This just looked abandoned.. but AHA! His hat sat on an armchair, the upholstery torn by what looked to be claws.
"Well Bloo.. I think we are at it again." His eyes adjusted to the dim light. There was only one way through this room, one doorway to get him through. There was a creepy singing reaching his ears. He steeled himself for anything. Algie knew that after his last encounter with this place, anything really did go.
He opened the door and made his first steps toward what hoped would be fast freedom.

He'd barely been in the next room for a minute before a bloody mannequin, blood oozing from wounds on it's body, was in his face. Algie gasped and reached for his wand but it was too late. He felt it's solid arms shove him forcefully back accompanied by a shrill scream pain. It was terrible! More terrible even than the rotting corpse he'd seen in the Addams house.
The last glimpse he caught of it was it's bleeding wounds and the whoosh of the door as it slammed shut in his face.
"Oh.. My.. God.." Algie once again was holding his wand to his chest in fear. His hand felt for the knob behind him, where he came in, and once again Bloodstone seemed to react. It seemed to once again help him regain his composure.
"You are right. They wouldn't put anything here that could really harm us. It's just Halloween pranks." Right?
Algie searched the room, avoiding a rocking chair that had started to rock on it's own. He found a wall panel that had a knob and realized it was a hidden door. The creepy singing seemed to be coming from behind the panel.
The knob turned smoothly, the door opening with not a sound. It looked like a children's playroom and doll's lined every surface, staring at him with glowing porcelain eyes.

And Hawk's Eye seemed like an eerie ghost that stepped out from among the dolls that lined the wall. 'Coming back in just to find your hat. Tsk, tsk,' he teased, dropping a candy square into the palm of Algie's hand. Do ignore the fact that his hands looked like they were covered in blood and, perhaps, the candy may have been a little sticky as well. 'There's your candy for being brave, but you'll need to find Reyna and Mystic if you want to escape again ...' With that, the Seer started to disappear, but not before tossing one of the dolls at Algie. Really. They were JUST dolls. Maybe.

"Yes. The mocking is wonderful help." He adjusted his hat and frowned as he received the candy. Even with Hawk's eye there momentarily his eyes drifted warily around the room to all the dolls that seemed to be staring at him.
"It's like the eyes are following me." In fact, as soon as he caught the doll that was tossed to him he realized that yes, indeed the eyes of them all WERE following him.
"Just a little creepy." Bloodstone left the man's finger, once again wanting to venture forward and find an exit. Algie was busy staring at the doll in his hand. It's eyes were glassy and blue and as he moved his head side to side they drifted and followed him.
"Parlor tricks." the old wizard smiled, feeling a little better now that the doll hadn't done a thing. He followed his wisp, letting the doll drop to a table top but just as he let it go, it's tiny arms reached up and grabbed the edge of his sleeve.
In fact every doll in the room lifted their arms and faced him. Their tiny mouths opened and shrill cries, like dozens of crying little girls, issued out and begged for his help. As if that weren't frightening enough, each and every doll started to cry blood.
"I want none of this!" Algie hurried to where bloodstone had found an open archway. There was no door but surprisingly, as soon as they passed through, the sounds from the doll room completely stopped and a blackness dropped over the previous room.
Algie could faintly hear carnival music, but it was all blackness. The floor was black, the walls were black, but the music.. it was getting louder.

'Then it seems that none of it you shall have, for the moment,' Mystic laughed a bit cryptically as he phased into view from out of the inky darkness. He reached to drop another candy into Algie's palm before disappearing once more, his laughter echoing in the dank, dark room.

With his second purple candy in hand, Algie was very keen on finally getting free of this hellish 'haunted house.' Mystic had left them but they were still in the inky black room with carnival music faintly jingling out from the emptiness.
"One more candy and we can leave. No mistakes this time, Bloo. No hats being left behind. Agreed?" His wisp twirled, apparently amused, but hung close by.
The carnival tune seemed to get louder even though they hadn't moved. Algie found that if he spoke his voice was now being drowned out by the deafening and creepy sound.
He kept his hand on one of the black walls and tried as best he could to work his way towards an exit. With a loud clank a spotlight lit the center of the room and the music came to a dead stop.
Silence.
Suddenly a red ball rolled from the darkness and stopped in the spotlight. Of it's own accord it began to bounce with a spooky reverberation off of the walls. It was just a ball though, he'd seen worse things this evening.
Algie and Bloo pressed on, trying to ignore the bouncing ball as much as they could to find an exit. That is, of course, until the laughter started. It was the freakish cackling of a circus clown. It seemed manic, crazed, and Algie felt like it was right behind him.
The wizard spun around to find only darkness and the laughter back behind his head once more. "I hate clowns.. I hate clowns.." He muttered, very clearly having no fun in this house anymore.
As he once more spun to find the source of the hellish laughter, he found himself face to face with a massive clown. It's makeup was running, it's mouth twisted upwards with jagged teeth in a laughing expression. But they eyes, the eyes were of someone who had been made into this monster. Tears streamed from the eyes and as it reached out to grab Algie with it's bloated, white gloved hand it's laughing voice bleated "H..Help!"
Algie struggled from it's grasp and as he did so his heel hit a hidden floor switch.

A panel of the flooring opened up prompted by the switch Algie incidentally pressed while struggling with the terrifying behemoth of a clown. Reyna's head popped up and she curiously climbed up out of the floor to see what all the noise was about. "Eeww," she declared with a look of disgust, "Clownsss." It was then that she noticed that Algie was struggling with the one before her. She took pity on the man and grabbed a hold of the clown's shoulders and yanked it backwards. She grinned viciously as the clown let go of Algie and instead focused its attention upon her. "That's not very nice," she told the clown before grabbing a hold of it once more and hurling it down the hole she had popped out of with more strength than a womon of her size and stature ought to have. She dusted her hands off and smirked over at Algie as the surroundings again faded away to nothing. "Aww... play time is over?" she snickered before handing the shaken looking man another piece of candy. "Here ya go handsome. Game is over for you it looks like. Take the door to the right," she told him as she headed for the opposite door on the left. She stepped almost the whole way through before turning back and yelling over her shoulder, "Don't forget your hat this time, kay!"

Rhys grumbled and took a door at random, what was it with people and not giving directions. As he stepped through the door he found himself outside the house again, "seems we picked the wrong door to go on..." frowning a moment he looked up at the house and then to Tek, "should we just go back inside or call it a night?" Part of him was unsure after all the strangeness they had encountered while the rest of him wanted to keep going...they hadn't even really seen anyone tonight as it was and those giving out candy hadn't really stopped to talk. Frowning slightly Rhys looked over toward where his bike was parked, he noted that Merci had arrived which meant his stepmother was inside the house. "...lets go back in."
Tek shrugged slightly his mind voice filled with amusement, We are amused that you asked and then answered yourself.
"Hrm, well I am the driver so I guess it's my choice." Reaching up Rhys opened the door stepping back into the house.
Pausing Rhys looked over the living room, it appeared to have sit for sometime a low fire burned in the fireplace and a rocking chair in front of the fireplace creaked eerily as it rocked back and forth of it's on volition.
We wonder if perhaps someone just left! The child darted off into the room to inspect the chair.
"I just hope it isn't that damn hand..." Rhys stepped more into the area looking around and trying to get his bearing. And that's when the whispers started, from behind him Rhys heard someone call his name softly, starting slightly in surprised he turned and took a step only to walk directly into one of the large cobwebs hanging about the room. Not expecting the wispy bits to be there Rhys cried out and took several steps back trying to brush the cobweb from his face. Shaking his hair out he stood a moment a bit wide eyed.
The sound of giggling from Tek snapped Rhys out of it, the boy sighed glancing over at the very amused looking fiend, you scream like a girl.
The sensation of light hands reaching out and grasping his hit Rhys next and he forced himself to stay composed shuddering slightly at the cold feeling it gave him, "lets just find the door." The room was dark except for the small light from the fireplace so searching for said door was a bit more work then he thought it would be, turning Rhys finally moved off and found a spot on the wall with a door knob, but the actual outline of the door wasn't obvious, "I think it's here -"
Tek darted over to his guardian and wrapped around Rhys shoulders, Rhys jumped slightly the whispering sounds of the room and the clinging hands had left him more then a touch on edge. "Did you really have to do that?" Rhys glanced over speaking softly to Tek as he pulled on the knob opening the mostly hidden door.

Pushing the door open Rhys and Tek moved ahead, the next room held a small table with two mannequins sitting at it. Rhys paused for a long moment, the two mannequins had been dressed up one as a well to do lady and the other as a gentleman in a fancy suit, Rhys noted that the man's suit looked very close in appearance to his own. A tea setting was placed on the table, moving closer Rhys looked over the setting nothing had been poured into the cups from the small teapot. "Doesn't look all that scary..."
Tek's mind voice came to Rhys quietly as if the fiend was nervous, the tone of Tek's 'voice' put Rhys on edge the little fiend didn't scare very often. We think you should look at their eyes.
Rhys realized he hadn't looked at the mannequins eyes he'd seen the joints on the hands and realized what they were and didn't bother really looking at their faces. At Tek's suggestion Rhys found that he really didn't want to look up and see their eyes, sucking in a breath he braced himself and looked up. Despite having readied himself Rhys took an automatic step back, the mannequins had human eyes. The eyes moved and followed Rhys movements, then the face of the female shifted and she bared her teeth as she spoke, "won't you have a cup of tea?" Blood glinted on her teeth as she spoke, Rhys started moving back his eyes widening as he saw that the mannequins were getting up. Both moved toward him and Tek quickly their frightening real eyes and blood covered teeth flashing in the light. "Have a cup of tea..." The female mannequin grabbed him and pushed him back toward the wall, Tek darted over attempting to put himself between the thing and his bonded. As Rhys hit the wall instead of coming in contact with a hard surface he fell through it and with him Tek, falling back he felt with a soft thud on his backside. The mannequins didn't follow and Rhys took a few moments to take in deep breaths letting his heart slow.
Glancing around he sucked in a breath of cool air and realized they'd been sent back to the front porch, standing up a bit shakily he looked to the door and reconsidered opening it again. Perhaps leaving was the best idea, but a stubborn part of him dug it's heels in ... he wouldn't be beaten by a doll. "We aren't done yet." Rhys glanced over to Tek.
Tek's tail flickered to and fro splitting and re-merging into one over and over, glancing up the fiend adjusted his super hero cape and mask and nodded waiting for Rhys to open the door.
Steeling himself Rhys pushed the door open and stepped inside again, they found themselves in the living room that they'd originally come in through. The room had changed, blood splatter reflected in the light and body parts lay about in various positions. Rhys stayed very still his first thoughts being that the mannequin creatures had gotten a hold of someone and tore them apart. Gulping down his rising terror Rhys stepped forward, Tek instead of darting ahead as he had been before clung to Rhys side his eyes opened wide.
"It's the mannequins..." Rhys voice held a note of confusion, looking down he could see that the arms and legs that were thrown about were jointed and the limbs were not bleeding they just had blood or rather blood colored liquid thrown on them.
This is getting weirder...
Rhys muttered slightly glancing to Tek, "yeah..." pausing he noticed that one of the arms from the mannequin was laying on the floor intact. Reaching down he picked up the thick plastic limb hefting it slightly. Nodding slightly Rhys rested the arm on his shoulder, it would make a good club if he ended up needing one later on, and then the sound of movement behind the two drew their attention. Rhys spun his hand tight on his makeshift weapon and his eyes wide looking toward the noise.

Part of the male mannequin had pulled it's torso up from the floor and was pulling itself along by the arm still connected to it's body. "Stars and stones," Rhys muttered and stepped forward swinging at the creature with the arm of it's mate.
Thwack! The arm hit the creature solidly in the head knocking the creepy head with human eyes and blood covered teeth off it's body, sending it rolling across the floor. At the same time that Rhys hit the mannequin he stepped in a pool of the blood like substance and slipped falling on his back, hitting the ground he closed his eyes blinking rapidly and then stopped he was laying on his back on the front porch again.
We believe that we are not wanted within. Tek hovered nearby watching the front door with narrowed eyes.
Pulling himself up Rhys realized that he still held the arm, "we are so not finished...disembodied hands and attacking doll things." Frowning the boy just reached forward and opened the door stepping back inside.
Once again the living room area was different, it was brighter now a few small candles were scattered through the room. The blood and fake body parts were gone, except of course for the hand that Rhys carried. For the moment the whispers weren't heard either instead the sound that was carrying through the room was the tick tock of a large grandfather clock. The clock stood across from the front door and was very large reaching almost to the ceiling, the lights of the room seemed to focus attention on it.
Tkkk Tockk...Tik...
Rhys frowned and moved forward, the floor was slanting now as well pushing them toward the clock as well, "I get the idea..." muttering he stopped and looked at the device the frown not leaving his face. "What about it ..." Rhys didn't finish his thought looking at the clock he realized that it wasn't actually moving it was just making noise. The front of the large clock then popped open slightly like a door opening invitingly.
Rhys tensed up looking at the now cracked open front door of the clock, "we take a look then..." glancing over to Tek he then looked at the door.
Tek paused as well before forcing himself to dart forward and pull the mechanism open, after all he didn't fear much when it came to mechanics.

'... curiosity will get the space creature eaten,' Hawk murmured as he slipped through the open door way and past the two that were trying to head in. For a change he did not look covered in blood, but was soaking wet it seemed. 'Aren't you two done yet?' he asked, head tilting to the side before he shook his head as if not wanting to know the answer. Dropping a blue candy on top of Tek's head, he began to float to the other side of the room and towards another door that appeared. 'Find Mystic and his bonded, Reyna and you'll have your last prize from the store - though what happens after that? Well, we most certainly do not like greedy guts taking ALL of our candy ...'
