There is a point when one drinks enough that they no longer focus completely, but are certain that they have heard the whole thing. Sakngea was at this stage. While Huang had said(in mostly clear tones) was:

"It's this stupid Mongolian Lunarian who is beefier and only filled with brawn's! You ever meet him Sakn, you gotta make a run for it, cause....cause the man is a nightmare. I was suppose to kill him but he was stronger and when he got me, he threatened my life and said that the only way to get away was to pay with my body!?!? HE EVEN HAD HUGE RATS IN HIS ROOM!?!? WHO KEEPS HUGE RATS AS PETS?!?!?"

Yet, what Sakn heard was:

"It's this stupid Lunarian, beef with filling broth. Sakn you gotta run for it, cause the mans right there. I killed him but he was stronger and he got me, only wanted to get with my body! HE HAS HUGE RATS, WHO HAS HUGE RATS?!?!?"

All of this made some sort of sense to the redhead, seeing as he was nodding his head seriously as the older man finished. Or perhaps he was just nodding his head because he had now had at least twice as much as Huang. It wasn't certain. But as the redhead nodded, he seemed to realize that there was something amiss with this story, and was just opening his mouth to speak when Huang started again:

"He was a stubborn, strange, conceited, muscle, one up, coward of a man, YOU GOT ANYONE LIKE THAT SAKN!?!? You got some stubborn, strange, conceited, muscle, one up, coward of a man enemy eh?"

And while Sakn managed to translate most of this the same, Huang had spoken so quickly and in such a volatile matter that Sakn quickly forgot his question and felt the hot blood pumping in his veins. YEAH! YEAH! He know someone like that! Sakn wasn't sure what this had to do with rats or whatever they had talked about a second before, but yeah!

"YEAH!" the redhead said, accentuating by pounding his fist against the table and taking another drink, "See's, I knuh dis guy, righ'. He'ssa huuuuuge jerk," as he said huge, Sakn flung his arms as wide apart as he could, because this guy was that big of a jerk to the drunken fisherboy, "He push'd me in'a pawnd 'n' called me a kid! H's mah rival, and and and," the world spun for a moment, and Sakn found himself quickly loosing track of the conversation.

"He's stupid."

Very very important that Huang understood that fact, because Sakn wasn't quiet certain what it was he was talking about anymore. Instead he stared blankly at Huang, his elbow resting on the table as he pointed a finger at the other man. His face was utmost serious, before cracking into a stupid grin.

A drunk, stupid grin.

"Imma beat'm up one day!"

Oh, wait. He remembered again!

"Whu'bout you? Gunna beat dis dumbguy up y'dun likes?"

Huang was now way over in his head with drinking. Everything seemed to spin, go from dim to bright to dim and had him trying to focus on the things happening around him. Too late was his training, His body so languid and loose that he was sure if someone to were attack well, he'd be flailing around. Or melt in the ground.

As he tried to pick into the conversation, he was staring blankly at Sakn as he rambled about his guys.

"OI! OI!" Huang cheered his cup at the affirmation of a common sort of enemy, obviously stupid, conceited, stubborn, rivals of enemies were common between these two.

"Stupid you say?"
Huang slammed down his cup on the table and pointed a finger at the boy, "I hate when they are stupid, stupid ones you have to look our for because in the end, there actually super smart! You watch out for this stupid one Sakn." Huang's finger waggled as he picked his cup again and listened to his new strange friend.

"He pushed you into the pond!?!"
Huang rose and then sat back down from dizziness, "The b*****d! How dare he treat you like that Sir Sakn! You aren't a kid, well....not really, I am a bit older then you." Huang mused as he took more drinks and smiled, breaking the stoic expression that he usually had.

"That's right!" Huang words started to slur, "You show this...this rival that you will kick his butt! Sir Sakn fears no one!" Huang rose his glass in salute to Sakn, taking another drink. Though at Sakn's question, all you could hear was Huang's snort into the cup and him choking on the liquid.

"Of course. Imma kill him one day."
Huang said it so confidently, "He isn't a rival! JUST AN ANNOYANCE IN MY BACKSIDE!!!!" Huang tipped back in his chair and rocked it, looking at Sakn.

When Huang cheered him on, telling him he feared no one, Sakn cheered right along with him. He even threw his cup up to clink against the other mans excitedly, ignoring the way the liquor splashed over the edge of the cup, wetting his hand as he pulled it back and downed what was left. He heard Huang snort, and as he poured another cup for each of them as he listened intently to the older man speak.

And what he said caused Sakn to forget his pouring, and he jerked back suddenly when he noticed the liquid spilling over in his cup. But Sakngea didn't care, because he was too busy looking at Huang. That face was the face of a drunk, but those words, the confidence in Huang's voice when he claimed he would kill that man one day...it was serious. Real, almost. The redhead had never killed anyone before, and the people he had met who claimed to have killed before swore up and down that it was a dirty deed, and left them feeling wrong.

Sakn wasn't sure what it would feel like, and neither feared nor loved the idea. But to meet someone else, someone so close to his age, who promised to kill someone without flinching shell-shocked him. Who's eyes held a commitment Sakn had never felt before.

Sakngea downed his glass then, watching Huang rock in his rickety chair; watching Huang watch him, and then leaned forward, his cup making a soft clink as he put it down, asking, "'Ave y'ever kill'd summone before, Huang?"

He felt like a child begging to be told a bedtime story, but Sakn wanted to know. Needed to know. The war was so close to home now, threatening to spread from the city and invade villages like his; Sakngea needed to know if someone so young could actually kill people. Wanted to know if Huang had done it.

Even as he waited for the answer, Sakn felt, as he stared into those deep red eyes, that he already knew what the answer was.

Strange how alcohol can make such a light-hearted conversation turn serious in seconds. How it can make people spill secrets, trust where there isn't anything to trust. Erase fear when one should be panicked.

Huang was comfortable now, his cup refilled by his companion as he continued to rock in the chair. It was starting to quiet in the bar as the night went on. Another group of drunk Lunarians had taken to the instruments and played a horrible but tangibly coherent song, that had Huang humming a long.

He's bloodshot eyes turned to stare at Sakn as he asked his question bringing a frown to his face and setting his chair back on the floor, all legs down. Did he dare tell Sakn of all the missions he had been given? At this point, even drunk morbid stories were morally wrong in Huang's mind, but at one point his brain clicked and he sighed.

Setting his now full cup on the table and pushing it away, he rested his hands in his head and stared straight at Sakn, never losing the confidence of before, but it seemed deemed by somberness.

"I have."
Huang continued to hold the gaze, intent on Sakn understanding that while they were extremely drunk, and Huang knew this was drunk because he would've never admitted to such actions without knowing who Sakn was and how much he could trust them. That and he was beginning to feel a little Ill. "We are at war, and whether what side we are on, we have been at least charged with one killing. It is unfortunate but because of how I was raised, and the job I was given. I have killed many." Huang never closed his eyes, He would not be ashamed of what he done, what he had to do. But sometimes even your heart feels each kill was a personal weight.

"It's horrible." Huang whispered before cocking his head at Sakn, "It's a horrible experience ever single time, Its like shredding your soul. When I was younger, I would've never thought twice, I did what my family and contractors wanted, regardless of the people involved, of who exactly I was taking from the world and loved ones. I had no heart, feelings or a Soul then. I had lost the one dearest to me from the war and had withdrawn myself into a deep and dark place. Every kill I had made when I was younger was for the one I had lost, in my young mind, it was a trade of fairness. They had mutilated and So I would return the favor." Huang's voice became steady as he felt the sobering effects of remembering exactly who he was. An Assassin, one who killed based off a signed piece of paper for a small amount of money and hope that who ever he had sent back to the goddess had truly been a threat to his Legion's alliance. One who once held a grudge against Nobles for the murder of his friend so deep that even talking to a noble dog had set his blood to boil, a deathly hum in his system. War, It took so many away and caused people to lose themselves. He would never wish it on anyone now, while his eyes were open to the world and more then alliances, Huang wished now that all he had done when he was younger was more justified.

"Do no kill anyone Sakn."
Huang pushed the glass away now, tired of how the drinking had caused him. Tired of the talk of death and Killing, something he was just too familiar with. "It wouldn't suit you while you are so young."

Sakn watched the rise and fall of emotion in Huangs face, his eyes, the softness of his voice. Gone was the rambunctious b*****d from earlier, replaced instead with a sober soldier, relieving events that no one should see in the first place. It was enough to sober the redhead for a moment, and his lips parted; almost as if he was waiting to ask a question.

The darkness that haunted Huangs eyes was evident as he finished speaking, and Sakn shook his head, as if to clear the fear that was (not) clouding his mind. He had never been trained to kill, and couldn't imagine a young boy out in the night, trading lives in exchange for money. It was a dirty business. Already the hungry urge in his belly, the morbid curiosity over death, was fading away, replaced with disgust.

"Do not kill anyone, Sakn."

The fisher pulled his eyes back to Huang(they had drifted while he had thought), and shivered at the intensity of the fighter's voice. "I dun' think I c'ud," he spoke softly, as if barely drunk.

Then, in a blink, Sakn pulled himself from his seat, leaping up to his feet, and offered a hand to Huang; stepping around the table as he did so to help the man up. The fire and playful drunken nature was back in his eyes(impossible to tell if he was forcing it or not), and a smile graced his crooked lips. "I ain' young, either! C'mon, le's get outta here. D'is dark atm'sphere dun do us no good. We need d'stars and d'moon tonigh'! No more war stories fur us. Lemme show give ya a peaceful nigh', I'm sure y'need it much as I do!"

And it seemed that was the end of that. Sakn would hear no more of this death talk, not when the night was young.

Huang's dark past continued to haunt him as he spoke to the younger man, it was enough to sober his once flighty feeling, his eyes clouded with a emotional scar from childhood and even now into adulthood. "That's right little brother." Huang spoke with familiarity to Sakn, of understanding and reached over to pat him on the shoulder, "Take only if it is the last possible choice, the last possible way to escape from your dire situation." He breathed, "And you will live with the guilt of another's blood on your hands for the rest of your life. To not justify it, Survival is survival, but to take another's life, it is not the will of our Goddess." Huang sighed, his acceptance of his fate set in stone.

When Sakn lept up, Huang was startled out of his depression, offering his hand, Huang grabbed the other boys and pulled himself up, Sakn's dark eyes lit with the playfulness and spirit of before which made Huang smile a bit. To be able to switch from the mood they had before till the mood of now, It was what he lacked as a youth and was glad to see so vibrant in Sakn.

"Your right little brother Sakn," Huang continued the familiarity, sure that in their drunken stupor not even Sakn would mind the nickname, "The moon and stars eh? I have not seen those without the shadow of death clouding the sky. Show me what your innocent and youth has shown you."
