From her place beside the bush she watched with nervous interest as the two males charged at each other, and her stomach did an uncomfortable little flip. It could all be over in a split second, and she knew there was only one outcome she'd live through, let alone be happy with. The Uni.. He had to win, he had to. Any other scenario was unacceptable, for so many reasons.
It all seemed to be heading to a head when suddenly the attacking stallion balked and turned, apparently trying to move out of the path of the uni, but managing only to make himself a bigger target. She gasped as the pair of them collided, suppressing a bubbling cheer as the stallion and rider went tumbling over each other, and instead crying out as one of his hooves came up to catch the uni on the side of the head.
Dainty hooves thundered over the length of the plain as she raced to the pale stallion's side, sliding right up beside him to steady him as he swayed from the blow. Ignoring his order to stay put, but again, she was trying to help! He was hurt, and it was her fault!
"Are you ok?" Ears were flat against her mane as she looked up at him, teal gaze darting between him and the grounded pair as the other stallion shouted.

Delacroix kept himself firmly between the fallen stallion and the flutter mare. Now that he was close enough he could see that the stallion had eyes with slit pupils. He could be part kalona and have a mouth full of sharp fangs for all Delacroix knew.
To the mare's question he gave a quick nod. "Yeah, I'm fine. Stay back! He might still have some fight in him." He hadn't really had a chance to assess what injuries he might have received but wasn't gushing blood or hobbling on a broken leg. That qualified as "fine" for the moment.
Fiercely, he turned his attention to the fallen stallion. "And you! Surrender! Give up now or I'll kick you and that human until you do!"
Torn with anger, pain, and concern, Unenlagia viciously snarled back at the unicorn. "Stay away from her! If you touch her, I'll kill you both!" He could see clearly that Yazhi was in a lot of pain. She was clutching one arm and muttering in whimpered gasps of human language.
She might have a broken arm. A stab of fear burst through Unenlagia. Broken limbs meant the death for most soquili. What did it mean for humans? He heard that humans could recover from such things but hadn't ever seen the truth of it. Was she dead already?
"Stay away from her," he repeated in a pained hiss.

The combined shouts of both stallions made the dainty mare flinch, shying behind the scared uni before realizing her actions and instead peeking over his shoulder. He said he was fine, she'd have to take his word for it, at least for now. Later, after the pair had been dealt with, she could check him over herself for any injuries that simply weren't presenting yet.
He was on his feet, appeared not to be bleeding, and didn't seem to be crying in agony. The same couldn't be said for the hunters. The human was clearly in pain, and despite a rather compassionate nature, Privet was finding it difficult to muster up concern or sympathy for her. After all, they had been trying to killer only moments before.
She should probably wonder why, but right that second it didn't seem as important as simply getting away from them.
"We won't touch her so long as you take her and leave, now." She may have been a tiny thing, but her voice was firm and her eyes hard as she stared over Delacroix's shoulder.
