At least Lucien thought perhaps the smaller creature had got caught in an infinite loop of "Umm..." for a moment until she finally said something... she said... well then, that was disappointing. What did he ask again? He had forgotten because her answer was so... dissatisfying, he lost interest. It was no matter then because before he clued in again she was talking about goggles!
Lucien found himself pouting when she said there wasn't a goggle emporium. How could there not be a goggle emporium? It would be such a good business idea! Either way, Lucien hurried after the smaller creature, keeping mind not to trip over her as she walked much slower than he normally moved. However, he nearly did when she posed him a question!
"Umm..." he said, thinking. He could not think of a time he wasn't really wearing them, they were always with him. Always... unless someone stole them. Then he was chasing someone without them until he got them back.
"Yes," he said, very sure about it. "They are very good for protecting my eyes!"

The subject was dropped, and she couldn't have been happier about it. Personal questions were always uncomfortable to her; one day she hoped to get over that, but she had a feeling that wouldn't be until she had a good body to reside in. Oh well, until then, she'll just keep running. ...Metaphorically, anyway. Her attention shifted between the heels of her feet and the boil at her side, her hands once more busying themselves with some dark locks of her hair.
"But...you're not wearing them on your eyes." She mentioned shyly, gesturing to the way they hung around his neck. "But they look very nice on you." Amrita added a lot quieter, definitely looking at the floor when she said it, her hair creating a curtain to hide her face.
As if on cue and a perfect distraction, the ghoul suddenly stopped, gesturing to a store they were apparently in front of. "I see a lot of Boils in there...it might have goggles...?" It was a more 'sports' type store, and by this point she was just guessing.

He checked his neck, and found goggles there. So it seems she was correct, they weren't on his face... but that was normal, wasn't it? He usually only wore them if there was a threat for something actually getting in his eyes. Usually if he was in the air and moving he'd wear them, or if it was raining and he needed to see!
"Thank you," he said casually, nodding to Amrita for her compliment.
And on cue, Lucien's attention was drawn over when she gestured to the store. Goggles immediately taking over his thought. He floated over to the store, peering into the window. He couldn't see any goggles! They had to go in! Lucien quickly gestured towards the inside.
"Let's go see then!"

Amrita had yet to notice that he could be pretty easily distracted. Which was generally good...or it would have been, if she noticed. As it stood she was going through a rollercoaster of emotions; Nervous, Shy, Nervous, Relieved. Rinse and Repeat. There was a good chance she would never notice either; the little Vetala was probably doomed to riding this coaster forever.
"Okay!" Amrita piped up, currently in the 'relieved' phase, where she was happy he didn't make a show or embarrass her further for her comment. Fixing the bag hanging from her wrist, the childlike ghoul shuffled into the store. She felt completely and totally out of place, but she had Lucien with her, so it made sense for her to be there! Totally.
Now she was looking between the floor and the racks of sports things; snotballs, bloodball balls...just about everything! "I wonder where goggles would be..."

While Amrita hadn't noticed how easily Lucien was distracted, he hadn't noticed how nervous she seemed to be. It didn't really help he did forget things, or push them aside in exchange for something else.
Wide eyes, Lucien was looking around for things. All he seen was sport equippment though, and his mood was quickly falling for every second he didn't find anything related to goggles. Why? Where were they? His hopes quickly fell, his pout curling over his lip prominently.
"I don't see any..." he said, looking at Amrita.

"I'M SORRY!" Amrita cried out way louder than she intended, her eye wide and what remained of her lip curled back in dismay. Noooo she was failing! Failing so badly! "Soooo sorry." She whimpered, her reversed hands lifting to press against the sides of her face, her thumbs crossing over what was left of her nose.
It was simple enough request; look for goggle things...and she was failing! That pout of his broke the pieces of her heart, and she tented her fingers together nervously, staring wide-eyed away from him. Her fear of disappointing him was just slightly stronger than her fear of strangers, and she was starting to look around for someone to ask.
"M-maybe they're hiding! We should ask someone!" This place made sense for them to be, there were air sports! She'd seen club flyers for...flyers! "Um...I-if...if I could find someone..."

Lucien just hovered around the store, looking around hopelessly for any sign of what could be goggles or goggle related. Could they just be hiding from them? Did they dislike him so much? He found himself grabbing his goggles and holding them up off his chest with a hand, fingers lingering on them.
"They would hide from me...?" He asked, his face twisting to match his pout.
He only partially noticed she was looking for someone. Would anyone know where they find them? What if no one knew! What if they didn't exist here! Lucien wasn't sure he wanted to face that reality... what... if they didn't make goggles anymore?! The thoughts made his head spin and soon Lucien found himself falling back against a shelf, only to have the contents of that shelf to fall on him.
"Ow," he said, looking towards Amrita, ignoring the contents that had fallen on him.

Amrita was too busy looking around for a sales clerk to really register what he was asking her. Then again, she didn't get the chance to properly respond either. No, instead he pulled an Amrita and seemed to fall over himself...right into a shelf.
"Lucien!" Her quest dropped, the little Vetala gave a startled cry and rushed right over, tripping falling onto her knees to help get the things off of him. "Oh Jack! Are you okay?!" She sniffled like he was deathly injured; in fact, she might have even been crying a little bit! There was some sort of tear to her eye and wibble to her lip, that much was certain. Well, at first anyway. When she went to wipe her face on her sari-sleeve, she noticed what she was holding.
It was a flight cap! To protect ears from the wind when flying! That meant...! "Hey, hey! Look!" She piped up, forgetting to rub her face in lieu of pointing upwards at a shelf that hadn't yet fallen on him; on it was a rack of goggles with a similar set up to a shelf of sunglasses!

Lucien tilted his head at Amrita as she actually rushed over to him, falling onto her knees in front of him. He couldn't help but imagine that was hard for her. He had never seen her move so fast before! He found himself nodding to her, checking his body to make sure he was okay. He had to be sure, her expression and concern was unnerving about the extend to his health.
"I'm okay," he answered, mostly sure he was correct.
He looked up, and when he seen the goggles his face sort of lit up like a child in a candy store, long before they went home to sleep with a monster in their closet. They did exist, and they weren't hiding from him! They just were waiting for him, they couldn't get to him without help from such a position!
Excitedly, he looked right back at Amrita. She found goggles!
"You found gog--" Hm? It looked like she needed some goggles, there was something by her eye!
"You have something on your face," he said, reaching his hand up towards her eye to try and wipe it off...

Her knees did kind of hurt, but luckily her current zombified state mostly dulled it for her; either that or she was too busy making sure she didn't indirectly kill the boil to notice she herself kind of hurt. She seemed relieved again (damn that emotional rollercoaster!) when he said he was okay, and even moreso when he stopped looking so pathetic. This was great! Everything was going to be fine and he was ----
---REACHING for her?!
On instinct she stiffened, seemingly frozen in place while he went to remove the upset tears that had once started to form. She couldn't even flinch when his finger neared her eye. Nobody had ever touched her face before! She didn't know what to do! Ohjackwhatshouldshedo?!
Apparently, sitting there like a statue while a blush grew on her cheek was the only thing that would come to her.

"You should think about getting a pair of goggles for yourself! They'll protect your eyes so this doesn't happen!" He said with a smile on his face, sliding his hand down Amrita's face as he wiped off the small tears. There, now she was okay! Job done, Lucien withdrew his hand from the ghoul's face and brought his hand to his side and carefully pushing the flight caps out of his way as he pushed himself off the floor.
He slowly stood up, getting off the floor from where he fell. He looked up towards the goggles, and then back down to Amrita on her knees on the floor. She wasn't moving, at all. Was she unable to get up? Tilting his head, he offered his hand to assist her in standing up. A smile on his face he said, "Allow me."

"...I do?" Amrita managed to sputter out, a bit baffled. "Something fell in my eye?" She quietly asked; she certainly felt something in there, but as for how it got there she had no idea whatsoever. All memory of tearing up was lost in lieu of Lucien touching her. It was a miracle she could remember her own name!
From her solid seat on the floor she watched him get up, still too much in shock to get up herself. She was used to people touching her hands at least, because they were apparently weird, but never her face, ever. The poor girl had temporarily short circuited and like many things it didn't register that she should get up too. Just, Hey - He was suddenly way taller than she thought he was!
"Huh? ...Oh." Blinking her eye rapidly, she focused in complete bewilderment on the offered hand. Hand...hands she could do. Finally moving one of her arms, the joints and bones cracking as she did, the small Vetala grasped his hand with her reversed one and wobbled to her backwards feet, her knees making the same fuss her arm did. "Umm...Thank you." Rita submitted quietly, only glancing up at him with a small smile on her halved lips.

Helping the other up, Lucien tried to be as gentle as he could with the smaller creature and her unique body. He didn't want to accidentally be the cause of her breaking like that or something. After helping her up, he didn't quite let go of her yet, holding on for a couple moments longer making sure she was standing firmly on her own ground. He mumbled a "you're welcome" before finally letting her hands go.
By this point Lucien had nearly forgotten the original purpose of coming to the store, only vaguely remember the topic of goggles. His main thought was more of a question for his recent companion, "Are you okay?"

She was standing again, that much was good, but...he wasn't letting go of her hands? Her recently overloaded mind was too blank and in it's recovery mode from the recent short circuit to really dwell too much on it; but she was slowly starting to register that it was a lingering touch. Another thing she wasn't used to; usually when her hands were grabbed they were released shortly after, and just before he let her go she had gone back to fidgeting but this time with her toes. They curled and tapped silently on the ground behind her, but the movement stopped altogether when he did let her go.
"Huh?" Amrita questioned, turning her dazed look from her hands to the much taller ghost. He'd asked her a question...she knew she heard it...what was it...um... "Yes...?" It seemed like a safe answer, defaulting to 'yes' or 'no' generally seemed to work. Hopefully that was the answer he was looking for; otherwise that would be embarrassing.
"Yes." She murmured again, unaware that she had repeated herself. Her poor, poor rotting brain. Oh hey, her hands were free! Belatedly she started playing with her hair again, a clear nervous habit. "Are you okay?"

Hearing that the other creature was okay, Lucien nodded, turning his attention to the goggles at hand. He seemed okay, he was back to obsessing about the goggles. Floating up to the shelf where the goggles were, Lucien started to inspect them carefully. He would lift them in hand, weigh them, balance them, check for quality, check for damage and then he would compare them with his own goggles. Grinning he discovered his own goggles were far superior than any on the shelf, although they were nice goggles...
"I didn't see anything but goggles up there," he said to her when he came back to the ground from his inspection. He looked at her as if to say, 'what now?', just watching her play nervously with her hair in the meantime.
