"Rrrrrr..." Balto seemed to frown and shake his head in response. He'd never gotten INTO the building. He'd just always been there. He couldn't remember ever NOT being in the laundromat. "Rrrrrrrrr..." There wasn't anything that he COULD use to get out anyway. The window that Dimitri had come in through was too high, and all of the doors were closed up. There WASN'T any way for him to get out, really.

It took a bit for him to understand, but finally Dimitri got it.
Balto didn't have a door.
Well, he thought. That definitely needed fixing. He didn't dwell on how Balto would have gotten in without a door; Shadows were weird, and they did weird things. But having a door would just be easier. So, waving for Balto to follow him, he began to hunt for something he could use to make one. He found a door in the back, eventually, that was fairly rotted. A few good kicks would certainly chew a hole in it.
So he did. Eventually there was a hole big enough for him to crawl through. He stopped then, panting, and turned to look at Balto.
"How's..that....?

Balto seemed to smile once Dimitri finished making the door for him, and the dog-like shadow padded over, a making growling noise that sounded as though he were pleased. "Rrrrrrrr!" He nuzzled his head up against one of the boy's legs before turning to look at the new exit curiously. What was outside of it? He scurried over and stuck his head outside - suddenly, he found himself squinting against the light outside.
It was so bright. And all the buildings outside...they were so BIG. It was amazing! Balto spun around again quickly, though this time he leaped at Dimitri, deciding that the boy deserved a proper thank you.
This, of course, came in the form of a facial tongue bath.
