"But 'tis my custom." Kate told her. She curtsied slightly, looking up with her eyes only.
The servents came rushing up, breathless, and she stood straight, waiting for them to leave. When they did, Kate stepped forward towards the princess, her hands held in a shrugging guesture. The guards blocked her path and shoved her back. Kate stumbled back, nearly falling, but she recovered in time.
"Listen, M'lady, I'm simply offering my thanks for your pardon." Kate said, but the words came out sounding very odd. Kate didn't talk like that, and she never had. She wondered if it was some ancient bloodline in her making itself known, but decided ot embrace the odd flow of words.

Amarante glares at the guards while speaking. "What kind of spell do you speak of?" Even though she is glaring, her tone shows her interest.

"What kind of spell would you like? I can conjure up a wide variety of potions and such, cast a few dark spells, a few nice ones... Whatever is your desire." Kate told her, a shady look glinting in her eyes. She inched closer. "You are tired of being constantly protected and worried about, yes? How about making that... all disappear for a day. A taste of freedom would quench your thist for it."

Amarante nods, her lust for adventure taking over her. "I've been outside the palace only once, but that was with a group of guards. I want to see the city without them for a day!"

Hekate nodded. "Give me a fortnight to concuct such a potion. 'Twill take time." Kate told her, turning abruptly and beginning to walk away. She chanced a glance over her shoulder and a wink before continuing on her merry way.
"Merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again." she called back to the princess.

Amarante smiles in delight and waves to Hekate. "Yes, and thank you!" She calls after her before turning and walking back to her room, acting as though the meeting had never happened.

Meanwhile, Lamai scaled the high wall that marked the entrance of the royal grounds. She reached the top and sat there, scanning the faces as they bustled past in the courtyard. She cocked her head, noticed one particular maiden stroll past, unveiling her face as she did. It was none other than the princess.
Lamai clapped in excitement, but in doing so knocked her off balance. She tumbled down into the courtyard, landing in a bush. "Ow..." she muttered. But, unaffected, she stood, brushed off, and made her way into the courtyard.

Amarante stops by a flower bed and kneels down to look at them. "So beautiful." She says in awe, watching as a brightly colored butterfly floats out of the middle of the bed.

Leon landed lightly on the rooftop. He overlooked the royal grounds, sighing. Everything was so peaceful for now, but how long would it last? He adjusted the sword at his side as he watched them all, seeing royalty and others alike. He passed no judgement on them and treated them all the same.

Amarante stands up from her flower bed and walks on. "I wonder who is awake.." She says to herself, wandering into the courtyard.

Leon noticed a girl walking into the courtyard and smiled. He stretched, his angel wings fully extending before he quickly released hte mode returning normal. He figured he should leave or he'd be yelled at for being on royal grounds.

Amarante looks up to see a man on the rooftop. "Hello, what are you doing up there?" She asks, taking a step toward the building.

Lamai wandered the courtyard, her mouth hanging open with awe. She looked all around, until she bumped into someone. "I'm so - AUGH!" she cried as she was swarmed with guards, who shoved her to the ground and aimed swords and arrows at her. "I..I didn't mean any harm!" she pleaded with them.
"You mustn't be here, theif!" one yelled, jabbing her arm and cutting her pale skin. She snarled fully shifting and shaking out her fur. The leopard Lamai hissed at them, clearly defensive.

Leon smiled. I was just rela- He suddenly saw the girl attacked. He sighed, as his wings suddenly appeared. In a swirl of feathers, he was suddenly between the leopard and the guards, all of the guards weapons on the ground, his sword undrawn. Relax guards... His face soft, no hint of anger or violence in it.

Lamai felt her chest heaving with each breath. She risked a grateful glance at the angel, and ran off. She dashed for the gates... but no sooner had she reached them did a cage come crashing over her and send her tumbling around inside it. A couple of guards came over and lifted it, carrying the angry leopard into out of sight.
