Oh no. Small child.

Parker ventured a wary look at Chuck. He wasn't about to berate a child, not unless it was a command from his boss. The surly man just shrugged and took the girl's money, passing her the balls. "Good luck," Parker said. "You'll need it." That was harmless, right? A woman who had stopped to watch shot him a look.

Well, can't please them all.

The little girl managed three solid throws, but luckily, none of them landed on the target. It looked like Parker would be staying dry, at least for a bit longer. "Can't win them all," he said, moving his eyes back to the crowd. He'd never been good with little kids, and he didn't see that changing anytime soon.

His voice raised again. "Who wants to look like an idiot failing at this next?" Parker could use some work in the heckling department.

Kat made her way through the crowd at the carnival. She had already pulled her hood up over her face before she entered- she didn’t know anyone and she didn’t want her being the “new kid” to be a reason for people to want to dunk her. But it was for a good cause, right? Right, she told herself. She shuffled over to the dunk tank, made some small talk with Chuck about her job, and was told she was up. Parker’s shift was over for a little while and it was her turn. She nodded slowly and walked to the bottom of the ladder that led to the platform where Parker sat.

“Hey Buddy, shift’s up!” She called up to him, stifling a laugh as she realized he was soaking wet. “Looks like you need the break anyway…” she smirked and moved out of the way so he could climb down and she could start her shift.

When he called out good luck she grinned, "Thank you!" She said, obviously taking it to mean that he actually wanted her to have some luck.

Even though she had missed with the three throws she was happy she 'almost' hit the target once. She waved to Parker as she left, pausing to watch the other person replace him, and then skipped off to tell her mama that she almost hit the target!

Oh good, his relief was here. Parker pulled himself up from the bench one leg at a time, balancing precariously on the edge before reaching the step ladder out. When his feet hit the grass, Chuck threw a towel at him. He caught it with his face. "Thanks," he murmured, raking it through his hair.

There was a chill in the air, and Parker suppressed a shiver, inching over to where the money box was kept. He turned to Kat. "It's colder than it looks," he said. "Trust me." There had been an orientation session, but Parker couldn't recognize the girl under the mask. He didn't try to figure it out either.

Instead, he kept rubbing at his head and then moved to the assistant position. It would be nice not to be the one getting dunked, if only for the next thirty minutes. He shot Kat a look. "Antagonize away."

Kat rolled her eyes at his mention of the water being a lot colder than she’d expect, and murmured a low “wuss...” under her breath. She pulled her hood off so she could see properly (she was clumsy enough without her ability to see lessened), and made her way up the ladder. She stopped at the very top and let out a dramatic sigh when she saw the ledge she was supposed to maneuver herself onto- this was just a recipe for disaster.

She shrugged, grinned and stepped onto the ledge, balancing herself as well as she possibly could. Don’t trip, don’t trip, don’t trip... she thought to herself the entire time she was inching her way to the very end where she would sit. And that’s when it happened; she stumbled over her own feet, stepped on the edges of the long black robe she was wearing and she began to fall. She sucked in a deep breath, held it, and flung her arms outwards to her sides to try to catch her balance. And she was ... successful? She stood there looking absolutely ridiculous, arms spread wide, with a look of horror on her face. She finally let out that held breath, complete and utterly relieved, and sat down cross-legged.

Pulling her hood over her face, she dropped both legs down into the water and let out a rather loud “Holy s**t!” as she realized how could it really was. A shiver ran up her spine and goosebumps covered her entire body. This was definitely no heated pool. Her hands gripped the sides of the platform and she began her heckling “HEY YOU- Yeah you. I bet you throw like a girl!”

The Dunking Booth, Ariel stopped here, looking at people. She hadn’t made any friend here other then Xavier, and well they only met once so she was not sure if they were friends too. Throwing people in water may not be the best solution to make new friends…… she didn’t know, everything outside books or horses were kind of unknown to her.

It looked like people were enjoying it, so she decided to take her chance.

“Three tickets please” she said handing over the money.
She had actually pretty good seesight, and she used to train with a bow while riding a horse, she was not sure it would help here but anyway she tried.

As she threw the balls away one by one you could hear the bell around her neck ringing a little with the movement of her body.

One, missed, looked like it was really different from a bow, but she could have guess that easily. It is a ball, so she tried to analyze her mistake after this first try.

She changed her position a little, tried to throw it with a different strength, different angle. But it was a miss too. Look like she would be really bad with this game. And with every move her fake cats ears where moving, almost dropping.

Ok, last one she thought. This time she tried to calculate the distance or the strength once again. But without more success than the two first times.

Too bad. But she was not too disappointed, it was her first try, she will try again another time. Maybe she will try to find a book at the library about this kind of game so she could study how to win.

Kat grinned as her first opponent stepped up to attempt to dunk her. Her legs were splashing back and forth as she tried to get used to the frigid temperatures that she was quite possibly about to be submerged in. Ah crap- 3 tickets. She held her breath and braced herself for the first throw.

She let out a very long sigh as the first ball hit the plastic behind the target. “C’mon y’wuss! Can’t you throw better than that?!” As the girl wound up for throw number 2, Kat cringed and closed her eyes. Then she heard the “THWAP” of the ball smacking the plastic once again, and her eyes peeked open. She laughed out loud and readjusted herself a little bit.

“Alright lady, last chance! Better make it a good one~” she called as she watched the girl studying the target. And it missed again. “Nice try, better luck next time!” she waved to the stranger as she walked away.

Who was next? “C’mon, doesn’t anyone have the balls to dunk a poor helpless girl!?” she yelled out into the crowd.

-Half way through devouring a large carnival corndog Aitana frowned a little as she heard insult being called, tame as they might be. At first she'd been expecting to see a fight, but after looking around all she could see was a reaper sitting over a tank of water slinging the insults.

Glancing at the sign for the moment, she produced the money for three balls. Just try to hit the target.

Switching the half eaten corndog to her left hand she gripped a baseball in the other one, pulling back before hurling it, hopefully, at the target.

It hit the fabric a little to the left of the target. She threw the next, a bit to the right. Last ball was closer, but still no luck...-

Kat instantly recognized the next person to approach the dunk tank- she went to school with her and had given her a brief one-on-one tutoring session on technology. At this point she wondered if her ability to throw was any better than her ability to work apps on a cellphone. She laughed to herself, probably louder than she should’ve, and braced herself for a dip in the tank.

She winced at nearly every ball hitting the fabric beside the target, especially the third one. That one was a little too close for comfort. She shrugged as the girl walked away from the booth and grinned under her hood.

Two people had tried to dunk her, and both were unsuccessful. At this rate, she may be able to stay dry tonight afterall!
“HEY! You with the ridiculous costume! What on earth are you s’posed to be!?” She called out to no one in particular. Maybe someone would get offended and wanna try to dunk her as well?

Ariel was really not satisfied from her last time. She read some books about it, but it actually didn’t help because everything depends on the weight of the ball, the distance or other criteria she would only faced while being in front of the situation.

So she decided to come back. No way will she just give up because she missed once, okay to be honest three times.
She comes back at the game booth. No one was here right now. It looked like the girl after her missed too last time.

She bought three tickets again. Gave the money and put herself in position to throw the balls.

She concentrated and throw the first one. The ball was nice, good direction, good strength and she actually hit it. She won!!!
She jumped from happiness but just after felt sorry for the one who fall into the water, it looked so cold.
She bought 3 tickets but it looked like she will not need the other two.

And that's when it finally happened- the ledge beneath Kat dropped and she plunged into the cold pool of water. She came back up quickly and stood, spitting water and squealing from the cold.

"Holy s**t!" She clamped a hand over her mouth as she realized the words that came out as she was saying them. Whoops~

She readjusted the ledge and pulled herself back up onto it. She sat back down, arms wrapped around herself. The sun had long gone down, and now she was cold and wet. Great.

She swished her legs in the water as she sat there shivering. "Congrats" she said to the girl who opted out of throwing her other two balls, and she was very greatful for that. She nodded towards her boss and made sure the girl got a hole punch for her win.

Ariel felt kind of bad.
"Thank you, sorry, I hope you will not catch a cold"
She replied to the girl when she congratulated her.
She just gave the other two balls back to the boss.
"You can give it to someone else who want to play, I will not need it"
One time in the water was enough.

Lily frowned as she and Rose stood in front of the dreaded dunking booth. Lily had insisted they skip it as she had already tried and failed on purpose at dunking a person in skeleton custom, but Rose had insisted that they try to participate in everything.

So now Lily stood in front of the dunking booth glarring at her sister who have gone to the booth mananger and paid for three balls.

"Rose, its chilly out. I would rather not be the cause of someone bout with pnuemonia. It hardly seems fair. Look that girl already looks wet," she continued to protest.

Rose, however ignored her sisters protest and turned toward the dunking booth. "Lily blossom, you do know that if the dunkies aren't dunked then the manager will simply dunk them. If you throw and dunk them in than at least the booth makes money, which seems a fair trade for a bit of wetness. Beside, if it were you up there I hardly think they would hesitate to dunk you. Now are you going to throw or shall I?"

Lily shoulders sagged slightly realizing she hadn't thought the manager would do such a thing. Her eyes slid sideways to get a glance at the manager, but returned to Rose at her question. She frowned, but took one ball. She'd throw the first and Rose could throw the other two. What harm could it possible do.

Lily brought her arm back and threw the ball, her mouth dropping open as she just barely missed the target. She could not help to throw an appologetic look at the tank.

Rose frowned at her sister and tossed one of the remaining to balls. She frowned when she missed and quickly tossed the other ball in irration which came closer but missed as well. Rose rolled her eyes and tried not to look at the smirk she knew her sister was giving her.

"Looks like you win this time, but I bet Xander will want to play when he come too," she said pulling her sister away from the booth.

Kat sighed with relief when the two girls' balls missed the target. And with that, her shift was over and she could go dry off and warm up. She pulled herself up to stand and balanced herself carefully on the ledge she was perched on. She finally pulled her hood back and shook her head, shaking the water off of her dripping head. Her brown hair was wet and matted to her head, neck and face. She quickly brushed a few wet strands away from over her eyes and shuffled off of the platform.

Climbing down the ladder, she skipped the last few steps and hopped down. She shivered as a cold breeze blew past and she pulled her wet cloak off of herself, wrapping a towel around her shoulders. Her shift was done and she would be off to enjoy the rest of the carnival in warm, dry, bloody clothing.
