Wow. That sounded a bit intimidating. What if he did something wrong by accident? Then he wouldn't get his present! Vance frowned, looking worried. "O..okay.." He nodded, hoping he didn't mess up. Couldn't get in trouble, even once? Scary..

Vance nodded enthusiastically, setting his cat down. Boxer ran off to do cat things, while Vance turned to face Tyyne fully. "My super power is still in the works. I've been jumping lots. I can jump across the pool!" He beamed proudly. "I can climb walls too." Vance turned and led Tyyne to his room, which he was very proud of. "Look! it's cleaaaan~." Good, yes?
PostPosted: Mon Nov 01, 2010 5:35 pm

Oh dear! Tyyne looked a bit hesitant when Vance suddenly looked sad and worried, pressing her fingers to her lips and growing uncertain of if this was such a good idea. Would the pressure be too much? She didn't want to stress the poor boy out! She just wanted to reward him for being good for a whole month. But...but he was a good boy! She believed in him! How much trouble could one little Vance cause?

She watched as the cat ran off to do whatever it was that cats do, feeling a little better; it wasn't that Tyyne disliked the cat, just for some reason anything with teeth and claws made her rather uncomfortable...could you blame her? She was a girl but she was also a deer! Very delicate. Tyyne blinked and turned her gaze to Vance as he answered her question. Pool? They had a pool? Wow! Mr. Donovan's house was really big, huh? She liked it! So much bigger than Momma's. "Really? I'd like to see that!" She chirped, following Vance to wherever he was taking her. Oooh! His room was clean! Tyyne giggled.

"Good boy!" She praised him with a smile, realizing what he was doing. Point one to Vance. Tyyne walked further in to explore the room, spotting Mr. Bear immediately. She picked him up and hugged him, giggling. He was still so soft! "You've taken such good care of him! Is he behaving too~?" Tyyne looked at Vance with perked ears, curious if he'd play with her; she realized he wasn't a baby anymore just...it was hard to let that go...

Vance nodded happily in response, approaching Tyyne and Mr. Bear with a grin. "Yep! Me and him go on lots of adventures. On rainy days, when we can't go out, me and him patrol the house for intruders." Vance said, trying to sound like it was all a very big deal.

"We go into Daddy's closet, cause it usually has ghosts. The Garage has Demons, like under the benches and stuff. The basement has Zombies. The living room is a battle arena for warriors." Vance tapped his chin a bit. "Thing is, it hasn't rained in a while, so I haven't been on patrol lately.."

Eugh, she understood the not going out on rainy days. Tyyne didn't mind it, really! As long as they didn't surprise her, if she was prepared and ready before getting rained on she was just fine. Tyyne glanced out the window for a moment with a quiet hum. It was starting to get darker out, but only because it seemed dark clouds were starting to form. And it was beginning to get rather windy. Oh dear, that didn't look good...they'd have to hurry if she was going to see Vance jump! And she did want to see Vance jump. She'd have to ask soon.

She listened to all the places that had all these different things that needed to be watched for. G-ghosts? And demons? ZOMBIES?! The living room she found harder to believe but...but...! Tyyne paled a bit in her face at the thought. Creepy. Did Mr. Donovan know? Tyyne glanced out the window again, hugging Mr. Bear tighter. "Maybe it'll rain today...? Oh! Can I see you jump before it rains?" Tyyne swiftly changed the subject from ghosts and demons, wanting to keep things cheerful and happy. No scaring her! N-nope! Not at all...

Vance grinned widely. "Yeah! Yeah, come see, Tyyne!" The boy gleefully ran back to the living room, sliding open the patio door and skipping outside to the yard. He had trained so hard, and now he could show Tyyne how well he had come along.

He spun around to face Tyyne, holding his arms out with his palms forward. "Stay here!"
Vance spun around again, running around to the other side of the yard. It was time to jump the full length of the pool! All the training needed to pay off!

Vance started to run toward the pool, as fast as he could. When he neared the edge of the pool, he hooped, skipped and then jumped off the edge, leaping across the pool and landing on the other side. He skidded to a hault, before jogging back to Tyyne. "Didja see? Didja see me?"
PostPosted: Tue Nov 02, 2010 7:13 pm

Tyyne squeaked and hurried after Vance, Mr. Bear still held snuggly in her arms as she skid across the living room, nearly losing her footing on the smooth flooring. The girl managed to catch herself on the side of the door, using one arm to hold Mr. Bear and the other to pull herself back up to stand properly. She'd nearly fallen running across that smooth floor! Oh...right, they had a pool. And it looked deep. Her face paled again, the memory of her near-drowning experience rushing back to her. She couldn't swim! "H-huh? Oh...gladly!" She assured Vance with a nervous laugh. Yes, she'd gladly stay as far from the pool as possible.

She hugged Mr. Bear tighter, her other hand gripping the side of the door. Tyyne watched with wide eyes as Vance began to ran toward the pool. Would he be okay? What if he messed up? What if he timed it wrong and fell in the pool instead of jumping over it? Could he swim? Ah! There he goes! Her eyes followed him the whole way, her jaw dropping and a tiny gasp of awe escaping her. Whoa...he...wow! "Vance! That was amazing!" Tyyne cried proudly, holding her arms out to him as he jogged back to her. Once he was close enough she hugged him tightly, nuzzling her face into his hair with an excited squeal. Her little Vance was incredible!

Suddenly there came a rolling boom off in the distance, one that sent shivers up the girl's spine and made her tense up against Vance. Wh-what was that? The sky flashed and she squeaked, holding him tighter. She was normally fine with thunder and lightning, just not when it snuck up on her like this. "U-um...I think it's time to go inside...why don't you show me your climbing?" Tyyne peered up at the sky as she said this, frowning as it got darker. Oh dear, she hoped it didn't last all night...momma would get worried! Unless Mr. Donovan came home and let her use their phone to call home and let her know she wasn't in the rain.

Vance blushed and hugged his Tyyne, giggling happily at the praise. "Thanks, Tyyne! I trained forever!" His little ego was pumped.

The frog boy's red eyes turned to the sky nervously as thunder boomed in the distance. Wow.. a storm?
"Okay!" Vance said with a smile. e was only slightly nervous about the storm, but he still had time. He needed to show this trick off on the walls outside.

Vance kicked off his shoes and pulled off his socks. He needed his oozy skin to make this work. The boy rubbed his hands together walking around the porch for a bit. He then crouched down, leaping up off the ground and clinging to the brick wall. He scampered up the side of the house, until he reached the roof.
He looked over his shoulder, searching for a ledge to leap on, settling for a nearby awning.

He leaped off of the roof and onto the awning, ricocheting off that back to where Tyyne stood. "Ta da~!"

Vance was nervous, she could see that, and she really couldn't blame him. Did he dislike storms? Well...that was okay! Tyyne would be here to protect him! Because she's totally the best person to choose to be your savior and protector. Yeah...no. Suddenly he was taking off his shoes and then his socks, and she was worried. Why was he doing that? They were still outside! He'd get sick if he--oh goodness! Tyyne gasped and put her hands against her mouth, watching Vance with huge eyes. Whoa! He really could climb! "Ah..um...b-be careful, Vance.." She called out gently, watching him warily as he started to look for something.

And suddenly he wasn't in the wall but in the air, and Tyyne's heart just about burst from her chest. Was he falling?! Oh goodness! What if he fell like Bug?! He was higher up than she had been and she'd missed Bug who'd been so close there was no way she could catch Vance oh god if he missed and got hurt Mr. Donovan was going to be so--oh...oh he..was fine! Relief washed over her in an instant and she let out a heavy sigh, smiling sheepishly and rubbing at her face a bit until Vance was by her side again. She'd been so scared! "Th-that was impressive!" Tyyne ruffled his hair affectionately, squeaking again at a more forceful clap of thunder. Okay, okay! We get it! A rainstorm was coming. Her ear flicked as a single drop of rain hit it. Welp! Looks like they were running out of time!

"Oh dear." Tyyne murmured, letting Vance get his shoes and socks before she guided him back into the house as another few droplets of rain hit her. It wasn't pouring or anything yet, but the rain was definitely imminent.

Vance giggled at the praise, though he sensed Tyyne's nervous behavior. Had he scared her? "I do it all the time, Tyyne! Don't be scared." He tried to look brave. Yes, Tyyne would feel so safe with the tiny frog boy.

The clap of thunder made him yelp, staring at the sky with frightened eyes. "W-what was that?" Uh oh.. Vance's first thunder storm?

e quickly grabbed his shoes and socks and ran inside, looking back at the door, his bottom lip quivering.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 05, 2010 9:39 pm

Once Vance had his things she quickly followed him inside, closing and locking the sliding glass door behind her and watching the ground as it was covered with more and more rain drops. She blinked and turned back to Vance, surprised and worried by his sudden fear. Was he alright? Did he not..know what...

..O..oh dear. Oh no! Nonono! Tyyne gasped and reached out to pull him into a hug, petting his hair and cooing softly to her little frog friend. "Shhh, don't cry! It's okay! It's thunder and lightning...um...i-it's when the clouds make really loud noises and bright lights. It's okay, really! It happens sometimes." She kissed his temple and covered his ears shortly after seeing the flash of lightning through the windows. It took a few seconds for it to build up but the thunder did eventually rumble through, and the rain finally came down at full force. Tyyne gently dropped her hands from his ears once the thunder passed. "We're inside the house now too! We're perfectly safe~." Not that they weren't safe outside...just...anything to comfort Vance.

Vance clung to Tyyne's top as he was hugged, shuddering lightly. He listened to her explanation, as he his eyes shyly looked to the side to spot anymore weird flashes outside. He gasped as another flash startled him, staring up at Tyyne as she covered his ears for him. The thunder passed, yet the boy was still tense.
"I don't like it..." He said regarding the lightning and thunder. He wanted it to go away. He saw no purpose for it other than to frighten him. He may be safe inside, but he just wasn't settled.

"okay.." He said meekly, his eyes constantly checking the windows and patio door for more flashes. "W-where is Mr. Bear?" He asked Tyyne, wishing to cling to his bear for comfort.
Just then, Donovan burst in through the garage door, looking around till he spotted the pair. "Oh thank God. I thought he was all alone during this storm. Hi Tyyne." He said with a smile, walking towards them. He didn't even realize Tyyne was coming over. Just lucky, he guessed.

He could tell his son was unsettled, and knelt down to give the boy a strong hug. "You're a brave boy Vance. A little storm won't shake you, right?" Vance felt like he needed to be brave, now that his dad had so much faith in him. He couldn't be weak in front of Tyyne!
"I-I'm not scared!" He said defiantly, shuddering as a low rumble of thunder passed over.
Donovan patted his back, the looked up at Tyyne. "Since you're here, I have a favour. Could you watch him while I go out again? I was on;y gonna be a few minutes, but now I gotta see a customer out of town." Leaving the kid alone while he was around the corner was one thing, but Donovan might take over an hour for this. He'd take the kid alone, but the option for him to stay home was available.

He tensed up and she smiled warmly, wanting to try and comfort him in some way while her hands were busy covering his ears. She pet his hair and rubbed his back, nuzzling her cheek against his head and doing just whatever it took to calm him down. She watched as he looked around to watch for flashes of lightning and listen for the thunder, giving him a little squeeze and looking around when he asked where Mr. Bear was. Ah! She had him...where had she put him? She hoped she didn't leave him outside. Tyyne spotted him by the doors and was very thankful to see that he was on the dry side. Thank goodness! She'd feel so awful if he'd been left outside! "Right here, Vance." She told him cheerfully, letting him go so she could go collect the bear. When she turned around and was about to return to the frog boy's side someone suddenly burst inside without warning and she tensed up, her eyes wide and trying hard not to scream for Vance's sake. Tyyne visibly relaxed when she saw it was just Mr. Donovan. Oh good! He was here and everything would be okay! Yay! She smiled proudly when she seemed to relieve his fears of Vance being all alone, walking to them and offering Vance Mr. Bear since he seemed to want him.

She watched the pair interact, giggling at Donovan's assurance that the storm was okay. "Uh huh! It's not so bad! At least we're inside, right?" It was just a little noise and a little light! She smiled and clapped her hands for Vance. Yay! She believed in him despite the fact that he shuddered when there was another boom of thunder. At least that one wasn't as intense as the ones before. He was a big brave Vance~. When Mr. Donovan turned to her she smiled and nodded vigorously, petting Vance's hair. "I'd be happy to!" She hadn't had any intention of leaving anyway. Tyyne was here to spend as much time with Vance as possible, and it seemed she'd be here even longer with the storm now coming down in full force. It worked out for them? Tyyne's ears flicked when she spotted another flash of lightning outside the window, frowning a little. Mr. Donovan was going out again? In that? Oh dear.

"Drive safe, Mr. Donovan! Oh..ah...my momma is home too if you want to go see her, I don't think my sister will be coming home with the weather like this." Meaning the alien was aaaall alone in her house during a scaaaaary storm. Though really Xai was perfectly fine, in fact she was cuddled up in her bed with a good (to her) book. Ha. Suddenly Tyyne seemed to remember something, turning to Vance again with a big smile. "Oh! You can show me your patrol, Vance!" That would make things better, right? If he had something to distract himself then the storm wouldn't be so bad for him!

Vance took the bear after his father had released him, holding the stuffed toy close. Everything seemed okay now that he had his bear.

Donovan smiled and nodded at Tyyne. "Thank you. I appreciate it." He was about to leave when Tyyne told him of Xai, his mind thinking about it for a moment. Was Tyyne aware of the information she was giving away? Like she implied Donovan might try and do naughty things since no one would be coming home.
Never. Not him.
"I'll think about it." He said with a smile, leaving to do his work.

Vance looked up from his bear and stared at Tyyne at her proposal. He smiled wearily and nodded. "Yeah.. cause its raining a lot... so it might be infested." He said in all seriousness. "You gotta stay close Tyyne, cause it's dangerous." Vance felt like the tough guy now, as he led the way to Donovan's room to look for ghosts.
He entered the large master bedroom, turning on the light quickly. The widows were so large in that room. the view of the storm was spectacular. Vance tried not to look as he skittered across the room to the doors of the massive walk in closet, gingerly opening the door.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 08, 2010 5:03 pm

Tyyne nodded to Mr. Donovan, still petting Vance's hair. "It's not a problem! I was going to stay anyway~." She came over to spend time with Vance and she was going to do just that come hell or high water! Unfortunately (or fortunately?) Tyyne was not exactly aware of what she'd just told him. Honestly, she just didn't want her mommy to be all alone in her house during the storm! That wasn't any fun. What if she needed help with something? Mr. Donovan could help her! She waved to the man as he left and then turned back to Vance when he got all serious, smiling and nodding to him.

"Who knows, maybe it'll be worse because of the rest of the storm too? Have to protect your house!" She chirped, putting her hand on his shoulder when he told her to stay close. "Okay! I trust you!" Yay! Vance could protect her~. She followed him up the stairs, albeit very slowly and awkwardly and probably even slowed them down a bit; Tyyne and stairs didn't bode well. She gasped softly and looked around the room as they entered, her eyes wide. Whoa! So many windows! That was so neat! Tyyne followed Vance to the closet without letting him go, finally peeking in over his shoulder as he opened the door. Hellooooo~? Any ghosts insiiiiide~?

...Wait, how would they know if there were ghosts? "What are ghosts like?" She whispered curiously to Vance, not taking her eyes off the closet. Wow! Mr. Donovan sure did have a lot of clothes!

Worse? What could be worse than nothing? But Tyyne didn't know that, so Vance just went along with it, trying to make like he dealt with danger all the time. There were totally ghosts and monsters that Vance and his stuffed bear kept at bay! "I gotta be extra careful then." He agreed with a nod.

"They're like.. see through and stuff." Vance said knowingly, creeping into the walk-in closet. Evidently what they did was either unimportant, or not part of his paranormal knowledge. He peeked behind shirts and other hanged up articles of clothing, delicately combing through the closet.
"None in here!" Vance said at long last. He triumphantly walked out of the closet and beckoned Tyyne to follow. "Time to purify the basement! I need to get salt from the kitchen"
