Oh, it also seems your polling sample is a little skewed. To get a more even opinion, you might want to post a parallel thread outside of the guild. You can pretty much predict what all the band nerds are gonna say.

I skipped my senior and junior prom for no real reason. I didn't see the big deal about it.

Sounds like you guys have a shot, so go for it! Don't worry about prom, unless you come with friends it's not worth it.
