Europa hesitated, then reached forward and pulled a gob of noodles off of Themis's tiara. "Actually," she said, biting her lip, "so was I, and now I've lost track of him-"
She glanced behind her at the crowd of gathering civilians, hoping to catch sight of Xavier, but he seemed to have fled and not come back when the fighting started. Oh, god, he was probably freaking out looking for her! She would have a million missed calls when she got her phone back!
"Do you - do you see him?" she asked hesitantly, still scanning the crowd. "Tall, kind of nerdy - glasses like yours, answers to Zay?"
Oh, she didn't see him anywhere!

"I dunno." He answered, by pure reflex. "She's a little tan, has those really dark teal hair, they look black if you don't look closely enough, and she always wear a part pinned up with a star cha-"
...Answers to Zay ?!
What the hell ?! This... this couldn't be Tallulah ! He'd recognize her anywhere ! And this wasn't Tallulah ! But she was the only one who called him Zay, it made no sense at all ! One of these noodles must have lodged itself in his brain, that was...
What.

Europa got the distinct sensation that he was describing her, and suddenly it all clicked into place. No, she still didn't recognize him, but she knew why.
"Zay?" she asked quietly. It was the glamour, she was sure of it. The same reason that Tate hadn't recognized her as Tallulah Cowden, or she hadn't recognized Sailor Pyxis and Pasha as being one in the same.
"We're causing a bit of a scene," she added. "It's me - I'll explain someplace else - there's an emergency exit past the bathrooms, let's go."
She hurried away, racing ahead of the slowly gathering crowd of civilians. They'd meet back up in the alley and act like nothing had happened.

...So it was Tallulah but it wasn't Tallulah it couldn't be.
Buh ?
Just as confused as before, Themis only followed Europa out the emergency exit, and deep into the alley.

Europa was already there, perched on top of a stack of crates, and then suddenly, in a flash, it wasn't Europa but Tallulah, and she was kicking her feet back and forth and smiling at him like she'd just solved an especially difficult math problem. "Did the cat tell you about the glamour?" she asked.
"I mean," she said, "Haven't you ever wondered why Clark Kent can take off his glasses and suddenly no one recognizes him?"
It wasn't like the phone booths were magic or anything.
"Being anonymous is one of our powers," she explained, hopping off the crates. "Wow, this awesome!"

....So it was Tallulah.
Mind = blown.
"I just thought it was one of those weird plot holes we're just meant to accept." And in a similar flash, Sailor Themis became, once again, Xavier Avery, a dark blue henshin pen swirling from finger to finger before it was pocketed in his jacket again.
"This whole thing is just... damn." He muttered.
He had just completely failboated in front of his best friend.. Embarrassing.

"...You met the cat last night, didn't you?" asked Tallulah, dropping her own henshin pen into her bag and shouldering it. Suddenly, it all made sense. Something had been bothering him, she'd just suspected the wrong thing! "Which one was it?" she asked.
They started out of the alley towards the main pedestrian thoroughfare, and Tallulah instructed Xavier to act casual.
"You should join my team," she added. "It'll be fun!"

"...Yeah." That was, indeed, the truth. Xavier hadn't even been a senshi 24 hours ago. In retrospect, he'd held more than his own in these circumstances, but he was still ashamed as his apparent fail boating.
"It was like... blue cat with no tail. *********, I think she told me she was called ?"
And so he settled to walk with Tallulah, hands in the pocket of his jeans. "Team ?"

"Yes!" exclaimed Tallulah, clapping her hands together. She'd heard of ********* multiple times, although she'd never met the little cat herself. "My team! You should join it, we call ourselves the Basterds, after the movie - I know you saw it, you must have seen it - we patrol together, and have meetings."
She lowered her voice as the stepped back out into the sunlight and onto the sidewalk. No one even gave them a second glance. "There's something big going on in Destiny City," she told him, suddenly serious. "And we're going to get to the bottom of it."

...Oh, god, just what the hell had this cat gotten him into, now ?
"Uh, okay ?" He managed, but then he realized something.
"...You know, with all that s**t, we never got lunch." A hero's life was hard, man.

He was right. Tallulah cast a glance back towards TGI Thaidays, and then thought better of it. "Curry Spectrum, then," she said.
It was probably in their better interest to not step foot in TGI Thaidays for a while, after all.
