Nalira suddenly had selective hearing, choosing to become temporarily deaf to Aido's curiosity. She coughed repeatedly into her hand, wincing at the pain that erupted viciously in her chest. Her hand dropped limply to her side as she gave Aido a look of concern.
"Oh, Aido .. that's horrible. I don't expect you to go into detail, it must have been a terrible ordeal." Nalira empathized, twisting around to smoothe Aido's hair, leaning her head against the tree.
Nalira started to cough violently once more, her hands traveling up hastily to cover her mouth. Bile and spit escaped from her lungs, initiating a large amount of pain in her throat, and a strange burning sensation in her chest. She wasn't well.

Aido didn't deny that the ordeal hadn't exactly been pleasant but she shook her head all the same and smiled slightly, giving her friend's wrist a small squeeze of thanks.
When Nala began to cough Aido's expression turned to one of concern, "Nala are you sick?" not exactly waiting for a respnse she wrapped an arm around her friend's waist and began to stand up, "let's head somewhere warm, shall we? I know there's a cafe around here somewhere...."

Nalira squirmed unsuccesfully, falling into her friends slight embrace with a frown. She crossed her arms over her chest, letting out an exhasperated sigh.
"It's nothing, Aido. It's just a cough." Nalira argued weakly, knowing inside it was far worse then 'just a cough'. But, what Aido didn't know couldn't hurt her. She leant against her friend gently, sighing once more, knowing that if she disagreed with Aido's proclamation, she's be taken there anyway.
"Alright." She whispered, defeated. Might as well give her what she wants. Nalira starting to walk forward without consent, pulling Aido along with her. If they were going to go somewhere warm, they'd might as well get there quick. They were going nowhere fast at the moment.

Aido ignored the exasperated sigh her friend let out and tugged her to a stop, "wait up Nala, let's just take Rael."
Poking at her shadow with her boot Rael's head emerged a moment later, giving the duo a questioning look.
"Rael, remember the cafe, a little ways from from here?"
-Yes...- the shadow replied slowly, curiously, extending his side of the conversation to Nalira's hearing as well.
"Would you mind giving us a lift there?"
The shadow's head bobbed in agreement and he pulled himself the rest of the way up and out, extending his frame until he could fit the two young Tales on his back.
Aido gently tugged Nalira over, "Nala... I don't know if you two ever met, but this is Rael. He's sortof... horse looking right now and he can give us a lift to the cafe."

Nalira looked over her shoulder, suppressing a few coughs and moving forward. She blinked, looking in Rael's direction, smiling politely and giving a curt wave. She didn't exactly know who, or what Rael was, but Aido obviously trusted the horse-like shadow.
"Uh, hello." Nalira said weakly, coughing into her hand and looking over to Aido, grinning nervously. "Um, Aido, could you help me onto Rael?" She asked cautiously, shifting her foot from one foot to the other uncomfortably.
Well, this certainly was awkward.

Rael nodded his head in return to the greeting, -hello.-
Aido nodded quickly, flushing slightly for having not anticipated that getting onto Rael wasn't all that easy if you couldn't see, and moved to Nalira's side, gesturing for Rael to lie down.
"Mmmhmm," she waited as Rael got to his knees, "there, he's lying down so just take a step forward forward..." She pressed her hands gently against Nalira's back, "then, I'll tug when you're next to him and at that point swing your left leg up...."

Nalira obliged, taking a few steps forward, not waiting for Aido's tug to swing her leg over Rael. She smiled, posistioning herself carefully on top of the horse-like shadow. He felt .. strange, as if you were sitting on something, but weren't. Pff, that doesn't make any sence.
Nalira shook her head, smiling over in Aido's direction. She clapped her hands together, swaying slightly, thrusting one of her hand back on Rael. She frowned, waving her free hand lamely in the air.
"Come on, Aido. How do you start a fire when there's nothing to burn, and it feels like something's stuck in your flue? How can you generate heat when you can't feel your feet, and they're turning blue?" She exclaimed, waving her hands in the air once more, and once more losing balance.

Aido stared at Nalira... was any of that supposed to make sense?
Shaking her head and easily pulled herself up onto Rael, sitting herself behind Nalira. "was that a song?" she asked, nudging Rael gently to indicate that they were ready. The shadow stood and began to trot forward, heading for town.

Nalira grinned, happy that her friend had noticed that it was, indeed, a song. Nalira involved a lot of her life around music, could she help it if sometimes it leaked out into her vocabulary?
"Perhaps, but it fitted well in the sentence, no? My feet are turning blue, afterall." She said triumphantly, gently throwing out her foot and wiggling her toes within her shoe.
"And we don't have anything to make a fire with, hence going somewhere warm." Nalira flicked her hair away from her face, smiling smugly.

"Feet turning blue is a bad sign, isn't it?" Aido murmured pensively, nudging Rael to go faster. Chao had drilled her on the signs of returning frostbite after she'd returned from Reit.
At her friend's continued explanation she laughed warmly and nodded, "you're right, it did fit into a sentance quite nicely, though for a moment I didn't know what you were talking about. Actually, you sounded a bit like Aemu after she's been drinking...."

Nalira frowned, wiggling her toes self-consciously. Shaking her head, she grinned and Aido, nodding a little too enthusiastically.
"Yes, it did fit nicely." She paused, waiting for Aido to finish her sentence. Somehow, she wished she hadn't waited. Her eyes widened as she looked over to Aido, pouting dramatically. She crossed her arms over her chest, letting out a heavy breath.
"Do not." She protested, sticking her tongue out defensively.

"How would you know? You've never seen Aemu drunk," Aido countered will a easy smile that was ohsoclose to being a smirk.
"Ah, there's the cafe!" she said as they turned a corner. She sat up a bit more and beneath them Rael slowed from trot to slow walk.

Nalira frowned, shooting Aido a poisonous glare. "Perhaps not, but anyone drunk isn't a good thing. Thanks, I appreciate that." She hissed, moving her head to look forward. She let out a heavy sigh, shaking her head.
"Sorry." She mumbled, obviously reffering for her vicious outburst. "You didn't deserve that. Things just -- nevermind, I'm sorry." She waved her hand lamely in the air, smiling guiltily at Aido. She shifted uncomfortably, nodding at Aido's last sentence, downcasting her gaze.

Aido wilted at Nalira's snap and her reply was quite meek, even after the other Tale had apologized, "no, I'm sorry, it's my fault. I don't know when to leave things alone." Her halo flopped onto her hair and, suddenly horridly uncomfortable with being so close to two beings, she carefully slid off Rael to walk beside the shadow and Nalira.

Nalira's expression immediatly hardened as Aido slipped off, her rose wrinkling. "I said sorry, what else do you want, Aido?" Nalira yelled, raising her hands to cover her mouth. She clawed angrily at her face, her hands trembling as they fell to her sides limply. Why couldn't she stop snapping?
She opened her mouth to apologise to Aido once more, but instead bit her tongue to stop herself from saying something else she'd regret. She looked away, hurt, her shoulders slumping slightly.
