Caiden wandered through the field. It was a nice day, there was a good breeze coming in from the south and he was pretty relaxed. He could hear some of the people from the closer houses out and about, doing their own things, and everything just felt really good today. Ahulani and Kiona were sun bathing by the pond and the two new additions, Naiya and Miette were off doing their own thing.

Noticing the Foxes playing beneath the tree, Caiden wondered where Vellir and that infernal Serpent was. Glancing up into the tree as he walked towards the foxes, he noticed a flash of gold and smiled to him self. And that Serpent, Nyx, was her name he believed, was no where around. Trotting up to the tree, he reared up and put his front paws on the trunk and cooed to get Vellir's attention, "Heeey... Vellir~..."

Caiden was rather pleased that he could make Vellir happy. "It's alway a pleasure to see you, sweetheart." Caiden swished his tail rather harshly to shoo Acantha away. The red Fox was nice enough, but Vellir was his main interest at the moment. He was particularly showy in his movements now, trying to draw more interest from Vellir. He had been interested particularly in her for a long while, and the gathering of sand hadn't been that difficult, the hard part was getting the right moment.

Nyx had always been around to spoil any mood he might have been able to make and then there was just a lot of general activity going on all the time that didn't make it a good moment to try and get Vellir. But today seemed perfect for such a match. So he would try. "What say you and me go to a quieter place?" He was of course, refering to getting away from Vellir's siblings. He cooed and purred, he'd make his intentions clear once the Foxes weren't around, he believed this sort of thing should be a private matter, and he would make it as such.

Caiden was glad when the Foxes decided to leave well enough alone. Caiden turned around and looked over his shoulder, "Follow me, I'll lead the way, Gorgeous." His tail swished again and he began walking towards the line of trees that bordered the large field they spent the majority of their time in.

He had found a nice little clearing with minimal amount of grass and a rather convient overhanging of large rocks. The rocks had a fairly large depression into them, making it the perfect place to shelter the dusts from breeding. "I hope you approve of the location." He didn't say much else as he walked, occasionally looking back over his shoulder to look at Vellir, admiring her.

Caiden's pride and ego swelled a bit as he noted Vellir's approval of the chosen spot. The trees above had thinned enough to allow a good amount of warming sunlight through, but thick enough that they protected from the wind. Which was good because there was a good layer of sand on the floor of the clearing. "I'm glad you like it."

He began showing off now for Vellir. He was a big, strong male. His coat was healthy and the purples and blues it was mostly made of shone in the dappled sun light of the clearing. The sands beneath his paws had obviously been gathered from a variety of sources, which was proof enough that he was rather serious about this whole matter and he cared what Vellir thought of him and his efforts.

Slowly, he began to circle Vellir, trying his best not to make her uncomfortable as he got close enough to run his beak through her fur feather. He was more than ready for a mating, but he would be patient if Vellir needed a bit more time.

Caiden was thrilled with the response he got back, a few more times he went around Vellir before he finally picked out a bit of fur feather and as gently as he could, pulled it from Vellir. With seemingly utmost care, he dropped the little bit of fur feather onto the sand and pressed it in. Chirping softly, he encouraged Vellir to do the same.

Caiden pulled out another bit of fur feather, and then some more, taking careful note as Vellir pulled from him select bits of fur from him. Slowly he would circle around her, brushing against her and she would do the same, circling with him. Slowly the would wind together, unconciously patting the bits of feather fur into the sand as the moved around eachother and around the clearing.

If one were to watch, it would almost seem as though Caiden and Vellir were slowly dancing around the clearing on a bed of sand. This process lasted for hours. The sun had switched its position in the sky by the time Caiden stopped, he moved away from Vellir and smiled. He didn't speak, he only nudged her over to the rock outcropping. Once Vellir was settled down, Caiden laid himself down next to her and looked out over the small clearing at the little piles of dust that were scattered all over. He sighed rather contentedly and rested his head on Vellir's side.

As soon as Caiden started to cool down, he blinked open his eyes to look around Vellir. He lifted his head and spotted her next to two dust piles. She looked like she was sleeping quite peacfully and he didn't want to wake her. Getting to his feet, he shook some sand from his fur and stretched. He would go get some breakfast for her and himself.

Taking a look around, he noticed a third little dust pile a little bit away from Vellir, but not to far. He shrugged his shoulders and walked out of the clearing to go in search of food, the Dustlings would be perfectly fine with Vellir, there wasn't much that ventured this far in that would disturb them.
