Julian's face fell when she asked if he was serious and the amused look on her face didn't help matters. He looked down and was going to mumble about how it was silly and that he didn't read many of them, but then Tahki admitted she had some herself! Julian's gaze shot up, blinking at her with a small smile.
"R-really?" And romance novels, though he didn't understand why she would blush at reading those kind of books. Didn't ghouls read romance novels? His head tilted to one side ever so slightly, a confused look on his face.
"But r-romances are m-mostly for ghouls, aren't they? So there's n-nothing wrong with you reading them?"
Oh, she wanted to know what kind of comics he read. He shrugged a bit.
"My older brother likes them m-more. I just read things like Joker and Riders of the Apocalypse. Have you read them?"

Tahki flashed him a sweet smile. She knew ghouls her age read romance novels but ghouls her age also wore lacy panties and what not. Not something Tahki wasn't completely proud of the fact she enjoyed them.
"I suppose not," She smiled as Julian shared what sort of comics he enjoyed. They were titles she were familiar with but had not read.
"I-I haven't read either of those," She looked down at her feet for a brief moment but quickly returned her gaze to Julians. "I have nightmare and fairy tales and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. Maybe we could switch comics some time," She scratched her head. "Maybe if you'd like to study with me some time."

Julian's eyebrows rose. He hadn't heard of those two, but he was definitely interested, especially the first one.
"Switching sounds like a good idea!" he exclaimed with a nod and a smile of his own. He was always looking for new things to read. Usually recommendations came from family or friends of the family. To get a recommendation from someone his age, even if she was a ghoul, was maybe even better.
"Studying would be good, too. Great Works seems like it'll need the studying." He gave her another nod. He couldn't believe it, he'd actually kinda made a friend! And with a ghoul! And it hadn't been difficult at all. His brothers must be crazy, it wasn't difficult to talk to them. He'd talked to several here at school already and at this rate, he'd stop being so nervous. Or, at least he hoped so.

Tahki smiled feeling pretty proud of her self. She'd offered to do something with a boil and he had accepted. It made her confidence go up a little. Study time and making a new friend? That seemed to amazing to be true.
Oops better not jinx it. Tahki came down from her little victory cloud.
"Yeah, if we get more classes together we can study those too." She felt pretty comfortable around Julian. Maybe it was because they were both avian, well in her case she was also half feline too. Hmmm, could be their interests?
She pondered that for just a moment longer before coming back to earth, "Though Great Works does seem like its going to be a killer of a class... mmmm." The gryphon tapped her chin.

"I'm glad to have someone I can study with. And trade comics with," Julian replied, smiling. He stuck his books under his arm and glanced around. He really had to wonder what else she liked, maybe there were other things they had in common. But he didn't really want to bring things like his RPG books up. While two of his older brothers had enjoyed it, one of the other had said it was a dumb way to pass the time and teased them about it. Well, teased Julian and Bran, anyways. Andor was his eldest brother and no one messed with him.
"And I could show you the good spots on the roof sometime, if you like. There's a gargoyle who hangs up there too, But he's not too bad." He agreed with her, he hoped they had more classes together, she seemed like she had a good head on her shoulders and they were okay with one another. That sounded like a good basis for working study-buddies.
"Yeah, Dr. Alabaster seems pretty scary. But we like reading, so it may not be too tough. What other classes are you taking?"

The promise of trading comics, hanging on the roof tops, and a study partner friend made the gryphon excited. School wasn't going to be terrible after all. Hopefully. The head mistress honestly scared her... quite a bit.
"Classes? So far I've just signed up for Lit and Shadow studies. I missed the sign ups for gym," Her face dropped a bit. She was disappointed with her self for missing the first day of class. She'd have to make it up another time if she was going to be serious about toughening up.
"Im looking into Magical Creatures and Human Studies too," She smiled, "I'm really curious what the human world has to offer. What about you?"

"Me too!" Julian exclaimed a little louder than he intended and immediately shrank a bit, rubbing the back of his head again with a sheepish look.
"I mean, I'm in Lit and Shadow studies and wanna be in Creatures and Human Studies. I didn't miss Gym, but I did miss the sign ups for Stealth." He made a disappointed face at that one. He had really wanted to be in that class, because he thought, that besides literature, that was the one class he would excel in most. He was a quiet individual after all and he wanted to be even better at it. But it had filled up before he got there. It just meant he had to try harder next time.
Julian heard the bell ring and he looked at the watch he kept in his pocket. A banged-up old pocketwatch, it had been a gift from his grandfather. It was a piece of just and jumped back and forth between thirteen minutes slow and eight minutes fast, but it had an awesome etching of the Halloween moon on the front and it saved him from having to get a new one.
"I have to run back to my room before Shadowcraft. I'll see you in class?" It was kind of a rhetorical question, but his inflection made it sound like one anyways.

Tahki gave him a smile.
"Yeah! I'll see you in class. Hopefully it won't be a class with so many people," Wishful thinking, Tahki knew this. But she hoped for it all the same.
"I should run now too. I hear the head mistress is a scary lady. Hurry kay?" She gave him a wave and headed on out toward Shadow Studies. Her pace was a little quicker then normal. She'd over heard plenty of stories about the head mistress. Tahki did not want to be late for class.
