Rorret's keen eyes didn't miss a beat of Okeetee's reaction.
He hadn't lied -- he did want to learn to hunt and kill lesser wolves for consumption. But he was more interested in the reaction the other wolf had to the question. So much pain lurked in the hearts of so many of these wolves. Pain that he himself was missing. So much was the difference, he supposed, from being found rather than stolen.
Still, pain was powerful, and already it began to make sense in Rorret's mind. In order to create undying loyalty, the Brotherhood needed to tear down the wolves to their very core...to baptize them in pain. Brotherhood wolves were wolves reborn from the ashes of whatever they once had been.
He wondered if he was weaker, somehow, for never having experienced that.
His ears perked at the advice that was given him and he nodded. "...Yes...I can see where that would make it worse," he said. His eyes ticked back to the wounds on Okee's face, then back to his eyes, before his glance demurred in a more submissive manner. "I'd love for you to show me, whenever you have the energy and the time. I'd...be afraid...to try it alone my first time."

"Of course, little brother~"
He had to admit, having the younger wolf ask him for help and instruction delighted him. He was a busybody, ever active, and sought to pull his weight in any way he could. When he was younger, he wanted so badly to be a pillar in the pack, one looked to for strength. He was not, however, quite cut for that. His true delight came from helping his brothers and the generations coming up behind him. That was what he was meant to do and he took each opportunity proudly.
"How about you meet me back here on the 'morrow? Say, shortly after sunrise? We shall find us a lesser wolf to pick off and we and our kin will feast, to celebrate your first wolf-kill. How does that sound?"

Rorret allowed his tail to thump, a smile spreading across his muzzle that almost, but not quite, met his eyes. "That would be great," he said, rising up to his paws. "Thank you, Brother, for taking the time. I'll see you tomorrow?"
Despite himself, he felt the first clutch of excitement creep into his chest and settle down there as he backed away and headed back to his own den.
