Looking positively doleful, Tui slowly nodded in assent, at a loss entirely to understand both the situation Iosef had got himself into and the way he wanted to get back out of it. "If...the pack found out, though." He searched Iosef's face for any fears or truths he wasn't letting on to. "It would be bad, wouldn't it?"

"...yes," he said, tentatively. "I think it would be." He didn't know, for sure. It wasn't precisely the sort of thing you ever asked. "...but if she already suspects..." he sighed, then, and flopped down disparagingly on his belly, pawing at his maw. "I don't think she'd say anything. She's very kind, Seraphin. Not like the other sisters at all. She just loves puppies, and wanted a safe place to be, I think."

Tui watched, and groped around for something besides despair to feel. It wouldn't be his first time to be chased off into the wilderness...and this time, he might get chased off with Iosef at his side. He quelled a shiver, and tried not to get ahead of himself. Better to be shortsighted, to absorb everything and not think about the many ways in which this thing could self-destruct. Willing his mind to silence, he stood and picked his way closer to Iosef, his muzzle finding its way to rest against the crook of his neck. It's magic, he thought, feeling some terrible vise unhinge inside of him, and smiled.

Iosef barely held back a deep full-bodied shiver and laid his face alongside Tui's, huffing warmly into his ear. His head, which had been buzzing with a thousand thoughts just minutes before, was suddenly astonishingly clear, and he sat there for a moment in pure proximal bliss. "I like this," he said, feeling more comfortable than he ever did. He'd enjoyed his time with Seraphin -- he always enjoyed time with her, she was so pleasant and fun to talk to and gentle with him -- but it didn't feel like this, and he was slowly becoming comfortable with that. "It's so wrong. But I do." He'd just have to find a way to make it all work, that's all.
