Chrono was up with the Captain. He ran after Nao looking for the girl from earlier. " Kaida" he yelled, he stood on top of a cart trying to get a better view. He took off again heading in the direction Nao had gone in.

Kaida looked at Nao and smiled "Nao!" she said to get her attention "isnt the snow pretty?" she was under the overhang of the building, just watching the snow fall down on the ground and all over the pretty halloween decorations.

Captain Rujin Snegjya gasped for air, then sighed in relief. He took out an asthma inhaler and breathed in. His asthma only struck when he was really out of breath, or was seriously panicking. He glanced at Chrono, Nao, and then to Kaida. "Come on, it's cold outside. Let's go back in and eat. My treat, remember?"

"oh yea!" Kaida said, running inside excitedly. she waited at the inside entrance for the adults. Kaida looked around wow its so big in here! she thought with awe.

Chrono pulled his hand through his hair. " Kids man I tell you" he said then walked back inside the tavern. he sat back down with Kaida, and Nao. He looked back at Nao with look saying he was just as worried.

Nao sighed with relief. "You go ahead Kaida!" She yelled after her. Nao turned away from the warm building, letting the cold breeze, mess up her hair. Her hands we clenched until her knuckles where white. Her cheeks were red, from the delicate snowflakes landing on her cheeks. Her breath made puffs of smoke as her breathing deepened.

Captain Rujin Snegya stood next to Nao with a worried expression. "Are you okay, Nao? You seem cold. You should go in the tavern." He hoped Chrono would be smart enough to prevent Kaida from going near the smokers, gamblers, and the drunk.

Chrono turned to Kaida " hey wanna see something cool" he asked her reaching in his backpack. This ought to be a great distraction. he thought to himself.

Nao nodded slightly. "I'm fine..." She whispered. Nao unclenched her hands, letting the color return. She noticed a slight burning sensation, only to look down and notice she was standing a a foot of snow, in only slippers. Nao ignored the sensation and looked back up the the harsh winds ahead of her. A tear slid down her cheek as she thought over parents, slaughtered right in front of her eyes by a soldier. The snow had almost covered their bodies when the soldier finally left them to rot. Nao bit her lip for her to concentrate on the present, instead of living in the past.

"Come," Rujin Snegjya said, holding her hand gently but strongly, filling her hand with warmth. "You'll be frozen if you don't come inside." He tugged her hand delicately. "It's still the holiday season."

((No school today! Whoo!))
Nao stayed still for another moment, silently pondering to herself. She was now more aware of the icy sensation from her feet. The warmth from inside the tavern warmed her frozen fingers a bit, letting her get some circulation into her fingers. Nao took a step away from the tavern and Rujin, pulling her hand away. She stepped off the curb, landing in deeper snow. Nao glanced towards the graveyard, a place where few people went to mourn their loved ones. It was said, that lost souls kidnapped people and killed them, to help them find their way to heaven. On top of the small hill in the graveyard, Nao could see her parents' graves. Another tear slid down her cheek, as she wished she could go visit their grave. But instead of going to the graveyard, Nao turned and faced Rujin. "That doesn't mean I'm happy." She said, her voice cracking as she spoke.

Rujin Snegjya looked down glumly. "I know." He sighed and looked up at the falling snow, braving the howling winds. "I lost many friends in that attack. Some died in my hands. Many houses were burned down, and some of my friends were still in them." He sighed blowing out clouds. "I thought they were lost forever. But now I believe, that they're watching us from somewhere, from a happy place." He looked up at the stars, slightly obscured by the snow.

Nao sighed. "We should go in..." She said softly. Nao stepped back onto the curb and entered the warm tavern. Her hands and feet burned as the warm air heated up her frostbitten toes and fingers.

Chrono stopped rummaging through his pack long enough to see Nao and the Captain enter. Seeing their expressions he knew better than to ask. He started looking in his pack again.

"Well, where were we?" Rujin asked, rubbing his hands together to make warmth. He sat on his seat and sighed. "Aah, my rice is cold. Oh well." He began eating anyway with chopsticks, eating some rice. "What brings you here to Snowtown anyway, Chrono?"
