Volare rolled his eyes and dug out his bag, watching as the girl began rummaging for the "rare" carrots. Volare raised an eyebrow at the girl, but said nothing. He was a bit skeptical that these would be anything other than garden variety.
Whatever, he stood, waiting patiently for her to tell him exactly what it was she was charging him for the carrots. A glance down to Mint was proved that the merchant girl was probably right. That phantom was positively dancing in place in excitement.

xxxxxAdriana shuffled through her first bag, looking for her rare carrots. Truth be told, they were just a strange color, they didn't do anything out of the norm. As she searched, Ezhno snorted and quietly said, "She's not a very bright one, is she?" He made sure she couldn't hear him, it would ruin the business for Adriana. Something you simply did not do. Adriana simply shooed him away with her hand, but gave the esper a smirk to show she agreed. Her master though, that was a different story. He seemed to have a good head on his shoulders, regardless of how silent he was.

xxxxxFinally, Adriana's eyes and hands made contact with what she was looking for. She pulled out the carrots- smiling at their blue hue. Yes, Adriana had gotten a kokiri to simply change the color pigmentation of the carrot- it truly was nothing special. But to any unassuming hylian- which Adriana was hoping Volare was- it was an interesting find, and a rare feature. Holding the carrot juuust in front of Mint for her to see, she said, "Now just look at that. Don't it look good?" Sensing that Volare might be a bit disbelieving, she added, "I had'ta go all the way to Zora's Domain, and ask 'em myself to pick these here carrots." She winked, as if to further prove her point.

xxxxxHowever, the road now forked once again, and she realized their time together would be cut rather short. Adriana's destination was somewhere that the man probably didn't want to go at all- Windfall Island. A place filled with thugs and rude pirates. While Volare could probably hold his own in a fight, Adriana didn't think it was where he wanted to be. Seeing the fork, she said, "Baww, and y'all were so interesting to." Assuming he would probably be confused by that cryptic statement, she added, "You lovely folks should be headin' down that road," she pointed to the right fork, "Ya'll don't wanna go where I'm headed." She smiled rather mysteriously, and then said, "Oh! I almost forgot, it'll be fifteen rupees per carrot," she thought a moment and said, "But you know what, y'all are nice. I'll give you a discount price of thirteen per carrot. Sound good?" She smiled holding the carrots a bit closer to Mint, hoping to excite the little horse into convincing her master to buy them.

Now, Volare wasn't one to deny the little brown and green phantom her fun. He also knew that things in the land of Hyrule could grow strange. But in all his travels and all over the place, never once had he ever heard of a blue carrot. And if these things were rare like she said they were, he was pretty sure he would have heard about them.
Besides.... he wasn't too keen on having Mint eat something blue, that was supposed to be orange. How did he know that they wouldn't make the little esper sick, the "little esper" however was prancing in place and clearly amused with the blue carrots.

He caught the last of Aria's sentence however and his gaze followed her finger to a path that lead further up the river, the road to the left leading to a port that would ferry them all across to Windfall Island. His gaze swung back to the blond and he raised an eyebrow. Why would a little thing like her be going to Windfall Island? Then the price of these "rare" carrots rolled off the girls mouth and a frown immediately set onto Volare's face. 13 rupees for something that may or may not make his esper sick. He looked over at the excitable Mint who's eyes, and nose, were examining the carrots with a concentration that he rarely saw her show outside eating, or examining what she was going to eat.
"Mint, how about you just wait on those carrots and I'll get you some from the next farmer we help?" Volare offered the little horse, trying to get her face away from the object before she ate one and he had to pay for it. "Miss Aria, with all due respect, how do I know that those things aren't going to make my esper sick?" he asked the girl, his eyes contemplating both her and her answer, simply sounding like a concerned bonded.

xxxxxAdriana frowned at Volare's comment about seeing another farmer. This man wasn't slipping away without making a deal with her. It was that simple. No one ever denied her a sale. She was Miss Adriana, queen of the merchant world. At least, that was what she liked to tell herself. Gazing down at the esper, she realized just how intently it wanted these carrots. With a sly sort of smile, Adriana knew her trap was already set. There was no way this esper was giving up these carrots, and no way Adriana was giving up this deal. Volare simply had no choice.

xxxxxBut, to appease his paranoid mind, Adriana said, "Look here mister, I run a fair business. I'm not that dumb neither," she said, though internally she smiled at the word fair. Adriana's business was anything but fair. Continuing, she said,"Now what gain would I get by poisoning this quite little esper here, who belongs to a man who just saved my life?" Her logic was sound, and Adriana knew it. Too bad he was just too stubborn.

xxxxxStubbornness, which looked like it didn't want to be appeased. Shrugging and nodding her head, Adriana said, "But sir, I can see where your concern comes from, I really can. I mean, if someone wanted to poison poor Ezzy here," she gestured to her faithful esper, who was still standing there looking disinterested, but gave a spirited nod when Adriana gestured to him. Good old Ezzy, he always knew what to do. Continuing she said, "So I'll show you just how safe these carrots really are." Matter of factly, she tossed one of the carrots over towards Ezzy, who gladly chewed it and swallowed. Adriana hated to see a piece of her wares gone, but if it meant a deal with this man, she didn't care.

xxxxxAnd like that, the carrot was gone. Of course, Adriana didn't suspect anything would go wrong. After all, they were just dyed carrots. Playing his part, Ezhno said, "Ah Aria, you really do find the best carrots in Hylia." He smiled and sort of rocked his head back and forth, like a dog being scratched behind the ears.

xxxxxSmiling, Adriana said, "See? Nothing to worry about, nothing at all. So what'll it be?"
