"You know that out of court it's just Papa dearest,"
"Mmph, sorry. I'm still running the court suggestions through my head."
Tayu and King Kuei were enjoying a rare moment of solitude. There was a warm tray of sweet buns and tea being idly diminished. King Kuei was slightly graying and wrinkled with age, but he still looked as benevolent and cheerful as ever. Tayu, small and timid, pulled an ivory needle through sets of multicolored beads. Her own necklace, a chain of jade beads signifying her status as the Crown Princess, clicked gently against her bracelets. They were dressed richly, but modestly.
"You said something about hiring more...err...mercenaries was it?"
"Tayu dearest, they're not mercenaries anymore," he insisted, "Call them freelancers. The war is already over so every man is their own again."
"Ah, yes. Freelancers. You wanted to hire them more for security in Ba Sing Se?"
"Yes. I'm afraid after the Dai Li's disbandment I simply need to see these people myself to get their trust." Tayu patted her father's hand, the jeweled beads in her other hand clinking in agreement.
"Don't worry. You'll always have me to help you."

"Ah, here's one now!" Kuei said with enthusiasm. "Welcome to Ba Sing Se. I assume you're here for the city security position?"
Tayu merely stayed quiet, deciding to come to her own conclusions at the end of the interview.

Yes I heard about the position and I am in need of a job. Also I heard that Ozai and Azula escaped and Avatar Aang resides in this city. I can do basic earthbending and some avanced level earthbending. And I am skilled in the way of the sword. Thank you in advance for seeing me also, your Highness

(Sorry if I'm being a grammar Nazi but is it okay if you put what you say in " " like I do? Just sorts out stuff easier)
"Easy now young man," Kuei halted Trou (as Tayu was whispered through the boy's explanation), "It's good to see an enthusiastic and informed applicant but we would like to know your background a bit. We have people to investigate, but we're not hiring people for the Dai Li anymore. I would simply prefer honesty."
"Perhaps," Tayu said in a muted whisper, before clearing her throat and shyness and speaking up, "You could start by talking about your teachers? How long have you been training and working?"

"I have never had a job and I have been training for 5 years. I began my training with an old friend of the Avatar's, King Bummi. After 3 years he said he wouldnt teach me anymore and since then I have been training on my own. And I would not lie to anyone, I cant lie, your highness.

(Better, but just pay attention to how I write and try to mimick if that's okay. Once again, I apologize for my obsession over grammar >_<)
"Ah I remember King Bumi," Kuei nodded, "While it is unfortunate that you've been out of work, there's a first time for everything. If you'd like, you can have a week's trial. Do your best for now as a palace guard, and if we agree you're good enough you'll be on the City Guard."
"We'll be paying you for your time," Tayu added helpfully, "30 gold units (Earth Kingdom Money) each week, and you'll sleep in the barracks at the palace."

Raki, riding his Moose-Lion, slowly approached the palace, being escorted by the guards. 'A local defense job, huh? Wonder how long they want me for. And a request from the Imperial King of Ba Sing Se no less. Wonder if he'll remember me.' Raki thought to himself, as they approached the large stairway. The Guards halted him at the stairs, not wanting his Moose-Lion to enter the palace. Raki nodded, and leaped from the saddle, brushing himself off. He moved to pet his Moose-Lion's head, smiling. "Why don't you take a nap, Priscilla. This won't take too terribly long." he said, turning and heading for the stairs. Priscilla yawned, frightening the guards slightly, then laid down, as curled up as she could be.
Raki walked up the stairs, and before he headed into the palace, he turned around to see the view. It was incredible. He could see most of Ba Sing Se from just those stairs. 'The Earth King picked a great place for the scenic view.' Raki thought, as he turned and walked into the Palace, his cloak waving behind him. He walked to the imperial doors, and was announced into the main palace chamber. He walked in, and knelt before the Earth King and Princess. "You summoned me, Your Majesty?" he asked the Earth King, being polite about it.

Just as the interview was about to begin, the Earth King was forced to rise quickly, terror apparent in his eyes. "Secure the walls!" he demanded, "Bring every soldier on duty immediately, and have all citizens come to the palace for safety. Young man," King Kuei turned to the young warrior Raki. "I'm afraid the interview won't take place but if you would like to take a trial for acception I have a mission for you."
Tayu tried to listen to the two of them, but was too busy now in taking care of the papers and maps they had gone over that day and handing them to a scribe for safe-keeping the the library. She was frightened but she knew that it would be utterly pointless just to scream and run amok in terror.

The Guard looked at Earth King, "Also, The avatar and his friends even Iroh the tea manager are held prisoner to Azula and Ozai. With Mai and Ty Lee's help!"

((Ok, can I have an explination as to how the heck the Avatar got imprisoned?! They'd be no match for Aang, especially since he has the Avatar State. As well as Iroh.))
Raki heard the guard's statement, and stood, no longer worrying about politeness. "At this point, I don't think we have a choice. Inform me of the Mission, Your Highness." Raki stated, making it clear he'd take the mission. He had no bending, but he had been taught by an expert swordmistress in the mountains for many years.
